This thread is for clearance-- not for sale items. Price reductions for clearance seem to happen on Monday, although not every Monday, but could also occur any day of the week depending on your store's price change team. Target often donates its older clearance titles to Goodwill stores, so keep that in mind when you're trying to find items. BigDirty: "Further reduction is possible when a game's price ends with 8 cents. However, when it ends in 4 cents it will NOT drop anymore. If it ends in 9 cents, it's just on sale or on a non-clearance reduction."

When posting deals, please include game, system, price, city and state. For example:

Here is a fairly easy way to check your local Target's pricing-- often price tags will not be correct. Thanks to BigDirty for this:
1) Go to Half.com or a similar site. Search for the game to locate its UPC code number. It's in the gray box underneath the box art graphic.
2) Go to UPC Data ,Milk.com , or UPC Database and enter the code so you can print out the UPC. Go to Target and use the price scanners to scan your printouts.

Thanks to Mephitical for this tool for locating clearance titles, which is located here. Go to Amazon or Target to find the item's ASIN. When you find it, replace "B000O3IS48" in the URL with your item's ASIN. This will take you to a page asking you for your zip code. Type in your zip code and click enter-- this will display a list of local stores and whether or not they have your item in stock. YMMV on it working properly.

The lowest known price will be posted. The item could be higher or lower at your store.

I scanned several 360 UPC codes today, Virtua Tennis, Crackdown, Simpsons game - all didn't come up in the UPC thing. So I guess there were out. Had them check the price on Lego Star Wars, was still $50. Good thing is I found a Gamecube for $50. Not only a Gamecube, but the Mario Kart/2 controllers platinum bundle. I got it for $47 including tax in that after I used the $5 off coupon. They had like 6 of them in the store, I was shocked since this bundle came out like 3 years ago.

No they were normal point cards but I used the $10 off coupon on them.

I'm shocked I'm finally able to post some deals no one else has been able to. First up was the already mentioned American Idol for 360. Then on the PS3 side, I saw Heavely Sword for 29.98 (definitely will be grabbing this at 14.98) and I believe I saw the NBA Ballers game for PS3 as well. I think there may have been another PS3 title, but its title escapes me.

American Idol was 34.98 for me, but if I found it for 24.98 like another poster, I'd probably grab it before the 360 coupon expires.

I've been to three Targets near me and had family members/friends check the Targets near them with no luck on any of these 3 games . I might just end up buying MLB 07 and Virtual Tennis used somewhere.

Btw I bought Jericho the first time the price was cut to $24.99 or something like that and it is by far the worst PS3 game of that genre. Horrible horrible horrible!

Well that was lame. My wife tried to redeem the Shutterfly giftcards I had bought from the clearance rack last week. She finds out they haven't been activated and takes them back to the store with receipt. The store messes around for about 30 minutes. They finally discover the store where I bought them doesn't sell that item (they rang them up with the AS-IS barcode and the regular SKU under the sticker isn't in the system). One of the other Target locations does sell them so they tell her all they need to do is have that other store ring them up using the normal SKU then override the price down to the AS-IS total.

They call that other store and they refuse to do it because the price adjust will cause the store to take a $100 loss and they're not taking a loss for the first store. Finally they refund the original purchase price of about $30 and give my wife a $10 GC for her trouble. They were all very nice but seriously, a $10 GC to make up for her losing out on a $100 Shutterfly deal? Weak!

I am absolutely hating Grand Rapids, MI Target on Alpine. I haven't been able to find a clearance game below 20.98 ever at that store. Mostly because A) they don't cut them and/or B) there are a bunch of damn hoarders.

I bought the giftcards during one of my Target runs last week but I was not there today when all this happened. My wife had to run some errands this afternoon so she took the cards and receipts while I stayed home to watch our son.

From what my wife told me the reason that the store I bought them at put the cards on an AS-IS clearance was because they never stocked them in the first place so they didn't know what to do with them. Apparently someone had bought them at one of the other Targets and returned them at my Target.

I agree. I told her I would not have accepted that.

These deals are all dependent on your target. Sometimes many targets will have the same clearence price, while other times only one will have it. It depends on your target, but you can sometimes get ideas of what you should scan to check the price.

Maybe, if you can find them. Selection and pricing are going to vary dramatically between any two stores. Case in point: one store near me had an entire endcap full of Pokemon Mystery Dungeon, while another one a few miles away didn't have any copies of the game.

This is a huge, HUGE "your mileage may vary" kind of thing.

I almost never bother, unless it's something I know is on clearance at other stores (usually from this thread). The Metro Detroit stores are usually good about taking things out of the cases when they get marked down.

Nope. The most information it gives you is that there is a very high chance that Targets near you have those titles clearanced or will in the coming weeks. And as the OP said, the markdowns generally happen on monday.

Hardly ever... I usually carry around barcodes of the games I'm interested in [or know to be on clearance] this usually accounts for 90% of the games in the glass cases... As for the other 10% if I am curious I just type in the DCPI into one of the price checkers...

And I'm hoping that NCAA Football 08 gets a good drop...
