This thread is for clearance-- not for sale items. Price reductions for clearance seem to happen on Monday, although not every Monday, but could also occur any day of the week depending on your store's price change team. Target often donates its older clearance titles to Goodwill stores, so keep that in mind when you're trying to find items. BigDirty: "Further reduction is possible when a game's price ends with 8 cents. However, when it ends in 4 cents it will NOT drop anymore. If it ends in 9 cents, it's just on sale or on a non-clearance reduction."

When posting deals, please include game, system, price, city and state. For example:
Debbie Does Skywalker, Xbox 360, $4.98

Here is a fairly easy way to check your local Target's pricing-- often price tags will not be correct. Thanks to BigDirty for this:
1) Go to Half.com or a similar site. Search for the game to locate its UPC code number. It's in the gray box underneath the box art graphic.
2) Go to UPC Data ,Milk.com , or UPC Database and enter the code so you can print out the UPC. Go to Target and use the price scanners to scan your printouts.

Thanks to Mephitical for this tool for locating clearance titles, which is located here. Go to Amazon or Target to find the item's ASIN. When you find it, replace "B000O3IS48" in the URL with your item's ASIN. This will take you to a page asking you for your zip code. Type in your zip code and click enter-- this will display a list of local stores and whether or not they have your item in stock. YMMV on it working properly.

The lowest known price will be posted. The item could be higher or lower at your store.

Going to make a run to my local Target in the morning hoping they dropped their Scene It's to $15. I still have an unopened copy of Lost Odyssey I'm looking to trade for a Scene It (I would pay for the extra shipping of course).
 
Saw a bunch of PC games for $5. Mostly budget titles, but I did pick up Divine Divinity.

Also picked up The Club (360) for about $13.
 
Is monday morning when they usually drop the prices?

i got lucky today...i think someone returned metroid prime 3 because i didnt see it two days ago and it didnt have a price tag. got it for $12...the cool part is that i bought the game 2 weeks ago when it was $25, so im gonna return my 1st copy that i havent opened yet and get the difference
 
Target - San Jose, CA (Capitol Expressway x Silver Creek) has one copy of GTAIV SE for $44.98 left as of 09-28-2008.

I picked up a copy for trade with any local South Bay, CA CAGs who can get me Scene It? for $14.98.

We can trade in downtown SJ. PM me.

So you get GTAIV - SE for $44.98 + tax = $48.70. I get Scene It? for $14.98 + tax = $16.22 + $32.48 cash [difference]. Local CAGs please, trying to avoid shipping and packaging costs.
 
Hey was wondering if anyone else has seen the Philps Portable DVD/iPod (model number DCP851) video player at their local Targets in clearance?

So far I have seen it at two different locations. There was one about 3 weeks ago that was gone within a couple days and then I found two more at another location that are currently marked 111.98.

Saw this Philips one here in Jacksonville, FL this morning.. The Philips one is still up to $111.98 but they marked down the rugged Audiovox one from 149.99 to 37.xx, bought the last 2 of that one..

As for games for the 360

Lost Odyssey $14.98
GTA4 SE dropped to $22.48.. picked up 2

note... the store I got these from just marked these down to $44.98 just last monday and today they were down to $22.48.. also scored thier last Madden 09 Collectors edition for the PS3 at same price also..

didnt see a drop on UT3 or smackdown vs raw for the PS3, still 19.98

Well thats the boat Im in... I had GTA4 (regular edition) for the PS3 and traded it for credit towards MGS4. Then a few weeks back I pulled the trigger and bought a 360 Elite during the Dell $100 off coupon run. So seeing as the only games I had for the 360 was the 2 games that came with the system and Condemened 2, I figured I would pick up a copy of Lost Odyssey and repick up GTA4 for the 360 since they were so cheap.
 
Something goofy is going on with COD4 PC because I went to 3 more Targets this weekend (so I'm up to Targets that are about 400 miles apart) and they all had them on the shelves marked $49.99, some still on end caps. I don't think this was supposed to be out of the system and they just haven't found the glitch yet. Those that got it for $5 were pretty lucky me thinks.

I agree, the game was on the endcap both times I saw it with no label outside of the regular 49.99, I only price checked it due to it being mentioned here
 
You say this like it is this way for all Targets. I stepped in 5 or 6 Targets over the past week and only one of them had any clearance games locked up, and that was only some of them.

Just stopped by at somewhat close/far target and they had a ton of Scene It games for $14.98. Also picked up Company of Heroes GOTY for $13.98. Cashier ringed CoH twice since I had COD 4 with me. Went to the service desk and the lady there wasn't really helpful. Wouldn't check what was the last price for it since it was "out of the system", but said I could return it with the little note she made on the receipt. Also foudn a copy of Blast Works for $9.98.

Saw GTA IV LE in the case, but with sticker price of $44.95, hopefully they will still be there next week since the Targets around here are usually late marking down the clearances.
 
Stopped by a Target this morning.

Of course I get there right when the "clearance girl" is making her rounds, she was a few aisles from the games and I couldn't wait around. I did manage to snag a Darkness for the 360 for $4.98. Going to call back a bit later about the "Scene It".

Anyone else know if GTA4:SE dropped to $22 at their stores? I just picked mine up yesterday for $44 and would love to get $22 back.

During lunch I found 1 target that had GRID for the 360 down to 14.98.. I called the ones I hit this morning to see if they lowered it and I was told it was still at either $41.xx or 29.xx, depending on the location.. So I got GRID for 360 @ 14.98.
 
I think I'm going to stop at my Target and check on GTA4. My 360 arrives from Dell today (if I'm home to catch it), and GTA4 is one of the games I want the most.

Usually. Most Targets clearance one either Monday or Friday during the week.

It looks like the section got ravaged over the weekend after looking nice and full all week. All copies of Kane and Lynch and The Club were gone. Glad I snagged The Club last week. Most PS3 stuff was all gone.

Do they do the drops Sunday or Monday? I really want to snag that GTA if it makes 22.98. But the store employees will probably snag them all at that point.

Yes, yes. I know, as you've mentioend this before and I have also known the hugeness of the thread for quite some time. I'm going to make a later one tonight, like midnight.
Snagged three Lost Odyssey games (two are for my friends, so no profiteering, my friends) and a Grid for 14.98 a piece. I would absolutely love a GTA SE for 22.48, so it's good to know there's hope to snag that deal. Thanks for the update on that one.

I've noticed that the titles that go on clearance are fairly universal (though not always), but the prices that they are sold for is what really varies.

Lord Kefka check the target on Irving Park Rd in Addison Il, Just East of Rt 53. They had Scene it on Friday for 14.98 and they had a bunch. Let me know if you see Grid in our Area for 14 thanks man
 
Well, another sad day at my Target. Clearance prices always lag behind everyone else. :(

:360: - $29.98 - Grid
:360: - $29.98 - Lost Odyssey (3 copies left)
:360: - $44.98 - GTA IV SE (4 boxes left)

I was wanting to pick up American Idol for $12.48 but it rang up "Not Found" and I couldn't find any in the store.

So, I picked up a copy of COD4 :)pc:) to take up to the CS desk. They had 3 on the shelf and it was marked at $49.99. I told the CS person that I had picked up a copy on clearance at another Target 2 weeks ago for around $10. She scans the game and it comes up Item Not Found. So she proceeds to call Electronics. "They say it is $49.99." She gives me some garbage how this must have been returned and "... we don't price match target.com or any other target stores." I asked that if I had a receipt could I bring it in? She said, "No, it won't help you. The game is $49.99" What a bummer. So I guess they will eventually sell those for $50 ea. :(

Not exactly...all Targets are supposed to do clearance of games on Monday...they do markdowns throughout the week based upon departments. Sometimes the electronics dept manager is not in, whatever and so it might lag a day or more. But the schedule is for Monday.

Before a price drops, the target employee has to go scan the items before the drop takes effect (at least that has been my experience)...that is why when you walk into targets on Monday AM you will see folks with those handheld scanners hitting all the inventory tags. I am guessing they scan, confirm it is in inventory, and then the system is updated to show amount on hand and new sales price (I am sure it has to do with keeping accurate financial inventory records)

Just my two cents and experience....generally if it don't happen by Monday afternoon, they either missed the item or missed the entire mark-down cycle and so the next monday is your best bet. If you wait until Friday you are either going to be SOL because they came back Monday afternoon and got them, or you will be disappointed because nothing is going to change until the following Monday.

Thanks akokonas. I may swing by there later. I have a copy from the Sears clearance, but the game is always an awesome gift. Based on what terutt says above I'm going to check back at the Target here after work. The employees were all over the store with their carts of items so I'm hoping they didn't get to the drops yet. I'll search for Grid while I'm there. Ps3 or 360?

I snagged a copy of Eye of Judgement at a Grand Rapids, MI location for $17.48 this afternoon. I don't really care about the game, but that's less than half price for the PS Eye. Good deal.

I've been stalking two of these at $34.98 at my Target. Went by this morning and they had taken them out of the locked case (got my hopes up) but are still scanning at 34.98.

The guy wasn't sure if they had done the clearance prices for the day yet so I may go back this afternoon and hope. (clearance areas had been moved around but I hadn't noticed any real price drops-- but my Target is very, VERY slow at dropping)
 
Has anybody in SoCal seen DBZ: Burst Limit or Bourne Conspiracy for $14.98? (PS3/360) My local Target only had 8 copies of Scene It! for $14.98, and NBA 2k8.
 
My kids will play with just the camera and the software you download from PSN for hours making movies and such, so its definitely worth $17. My store didn't do its game markdowns yet so I'll check again tomorrow morning when I go to pick up Ironman Blu-ray. Off topic but I did get a Black and Decker 2 gallon air compressor for $25 (75% off), and I noticed a bunch of webcams got clearanced this past week in the computer section, and finally a lot of the Garmin Nuvi are being clearanced...the Nuvi 200 was around $101 down from $169.
 
nice, if DBZ BL is 15, I might be able to snag one. My target had 2 last I looked. Wonder what the target near my school might have?
