This thread is for clearance-- not for sale items. Price reductions for clearance seem to happen on Monday, although not every Monday, but could also occur any day of the week depending on your store's price change team. Target often donates its older clearance titles to Goodwill stores, so keep that in mind when you're trying to find items. BigDirty: "Further reduction is possible when a game's price ends with 8 cents. However, when it ends in 4 cents it will NOT drop anymore. If it ends in 9 cents, it's just on sale or on a non-clearance reduction."

When posting deals, please include game, system, price, city and state. For example:
Debbie Does Skywalker, Xbox 360, $4.98
Mesa, AZ Power Road at Superstition Springs

Here is a fairly easy way to check your local Target's pricing-- often price tags will not be correct. Thanks to BigDirty for this:
1) Go to Half.com or a similar site. Search for the game to locate its UPC code number. It's in the gray box underneath the box art graphic.
2) Go to UPC Data ,Milk.com , or UPC Database and enter the code so you can print out the UPC. Go to Target and use the price scanners to scan your printouts.

Thanks to Mephitical for this tool for locating clearance titles, which is located here. Go to Amazon or Target to find the item's ASIN. When you find it, replace "B000O3IS48" in the URL with your item's ASIN. This will take you to a page asking you for your zip code. Type in your zip code and click enter-- this will display a list of local stores and whether or not they have your item in stock. YMMV on it working properly.

The lowest known price will be posted. The item could be higher or lower at your store.

Cupertino, CA Target dropped Kane & Lynch to $9.98 today, Bro. 3 copies left. One copy of GRID, but at $41.XX.

I passed due to the poor reviews [K&L].

Yea I was talking to clerk while he was looking at the price for the pink controller I thought was on clearance. He said it is up to each individual store to set the prices all based on how many units they sold and have in stock. He also told me that they WILL NOT price match another store on the game prices.
 
Stopped at Kissimmee, FL target and found just about everything 360. Grid, Lost Odyssey, and Scene it all for $41.98. Very disappointing, I really wanted scene it

Stopped by the store in Bridgeport WV. Most of the clearance stuff was cleaned out. I did pick up Madden 08 (360) for $8, was checking out other stuff, Grid and Scene It were $30. Waiting for the Scene it to drop more, just have to keep going back throughout the week.

The deal is that the instructions for checking inventory are in the first post. Also, I toned it down from what I was really thinking.

I wonder how fast BUZZ! (PS3) will drop. Target never seems to keep the "larger" games around....like GTA IV SE on clearance, Sing Star, Eye of Judgement, and Madden CE. It seems a bit odd that some drop so fast.

Anyways, I did not find anything good at one of my Targets.

They had:
- The Club (360) - $12.48
- GTA (SE) - $62.xx
- Frontlines (360) - $41.98

a few others...but nothing GREAT.
 
My Target had Dragon Ball Z Burst Limit for the PS3 at $29.98 but the Xbox 360 version priced at $41.98.

I tried talking the clerk into the $30 price for the 360 version but it was a no go. If it doesn't drop to $30 by the time I get paid next week I'll probably pick it up anyway.
 
Some games have dropped to 85% off. $7.48 games were ringing up $3.74. Chronicles of Narnia DS was one I can remember. I thought the prices stopped at 75% off.
 
Checked another Target this morning and everything was still the same high prices. I did find Guild Wars GOY edition to go with my Factions copy at $14.
 
Well I got "Scene It?" for $14.98, but since I work there I got 10% off which came out to $13.48 without taxes. Yesterday like I said, my friend was pulling out about 20 from the locked room and I only saw 4 left. Now there are only 3 left. Lucky me!

I really don't care about the game, but I do like the 4 controllers and 8 AA batteries that came with it. Very nice!
 
Found Lost Odyssey, Grid, Skate, Scene It but all rang up at $29.99. Eye of Judgement at $34 and a Warhawk w/headset for $49.99. Passed on it all, Battle Creek, MI.
 
Got Buzz Jr!: Jungle Party with the 4 controllers for the PS2, for my cousins for Xmas. Clearance sticker said $19.99. Price check scanner and the register both said $9.99. Also found Peggle (PC) for $9.99, a Mom present since she can't get enough of the Pop Cap games. Both were at the Mayfield Hts., OH Target.
 
OK, I give up. I don't think I'm gonna find Lost Odyssey in my area. My stores (all three local ones) have SHIT. Scene it up the wazoo, Viking for 10 bucks, and Unreal Tournament 3 (PS3) for 20. Almost bit on UT3, but I get bored with shooters a bit too quick. Anyone find a cheap Lost Odyssey and want to hook me up?
 
The herd has certainly been thinned here. I got the last Grid for $14.98 and the second to last copy of the Club for $12.48, both on 360. Mostly just sports games left now.

at target, its pretty tough to find clearanced games at a price you really want these days . specially the ones i go to. im glad i caught it before someone else could. im also thankful these days that target locks the clearanced games in the cases where they were before so that people don't pick them up at the first mark down.

did anyone notice if they restocked the orange box for the 360? i scanned it and it was $29.99. it was a lone copy too. i remember them marking those down to $14.98 before.

Sorry, that's where I bought the last copy of Grid Thursday. I went down to the bigger Targets in Everett and Revere today and they had nothing (1 copy of Viking for $10). Revere had 6 copies of Kane & Lynch for $20 the other week, but nothing left now. I also went to the Liberty Tree mall Target last weekend and they had nothing.

I think Salem might be something along the lines of a clearing house for the district, as they are the only Target I've seen on the north shore with any copies of Scene It, and they had a lot left earlier this week.
 
I gave in and got Bourne for $30. I've wanted to play it ever since I tried the demo, so I figured if it does drop in price further...well, I'll save receipt that shows I paid $30 :p

So far, yeah! I've only seen it for 42.xx and 29.98. Maybe on Monday it'll drop. I would prefer the 360 version though, a couple of people reported seeing it at 42.xx, but its been full price every Target I've looked at...
 
I finally managed to get Scene It and Lost Odyssey for 14.98 each at the Target on Expressway in Oklahoma. Lost Odyssey, I got the last one behind the glass case, but there's literally dozens of Scene its still.

It was that price at my Target. I wish the 360 version would drop. I picked up Scene It! for $14.99.
 
not sure if i posted this already...but i got COD 4 (PC) the other day for 4.96 +tax. It had been ringing up "not in system" for a couple weeks. It was just sitting there. Really sweet game for 5 bux
 
As always the targets in Saratoga, and Cupertino, CA have nothing.

Kane and Lynch was $20, Viking was $15, Madden 08 was $15, Mx vs. Atv untamed was $22, GRID was not even there and the other store did not have jack shit.

I did not check any Targets in San Jose including Oakridge so if anyone knows of anything please let me know, i would die to get GRID for $15.

consider yourself lucky. Everywhere I've gone it's 'not in system' as well, but when I go to the PC game aisle COD4 is listed as $49.99 :drool:

Found a copy of BioShock at $39.99, bought it then returned it for $39.99 [w/receipt] to a store that had the $19.98 price tag, and rebought it at the lower price. =)

Guess that's one way around the inconsistent pricing. But I do grow tired of running around to get these savings.

Ugh, I went to Target in Bowie, MD and Scene It was on clearance for $41.fx, not the $14.xx that I had expected. I really had my hopes up. I'll try another Target during the week.

If i remember on friday, oakridge has 1 copy of grid at $30? i think, the club for 12, lost oddyssey, dragonball...for $41.

Yes, if you saw 10 copies there one day and next day they are gone, that might be a hoarder. It's funny how everyone assumes other CAG's or slickdealers are cleaning out the stock. Sometimes stock is cleaned out just by a flipper.

Here is the biggest thing, if you miss a deal just wait. A better deal will probably be around in the future. Seriously guys, except for the special editions, these games will be next to nothing eventually anyway.
 
So I just got COD4 (PC) for the discounted price again. I went to a different Target and got 3 copies of COD4 for my friends. This time I had my receipt of the previous $12.46 price at the previous Target to bring along. As usual, the item still doesn't scan in the aisle scanners or registers.

Took the game to CSR, had them confused for awhile, then just showed them my receipt. A supervisor came and decided to walk back to electronics to find the retail price ($49.99) but I guess he got lazy because he turned around halfway, and told CSR just to manually enter in the item code which gives the discounted price.

The code was: 201020000

I don't know if that'll help anybody without an actual receipt I just wanted to update the thread for another success.

This is really where the YMMV comes in because this needs to be disputed and you need a supervisor/CSR to cut you some slack.

Bottom Line
Your best bet is avoid having them find the retail price of the game on the shelves. It may be best to avoid the electronics dept and go straight to CSR.
