This thread is for clearance-- not for sale items. Price reductions for clearance seem to happen on Monday, although not every Monday, but could also occur any day of the week depending on your store's price change team. Price adjustments on clearance are typically not allowed, but some have succeeded or have been able to do as return and rebuy.

Target often donates its older clearance titles to Goodwill stores, so keep that in mind when you're trying to find items. BigDirty: "Further reduction is possible when a game's price ends with 8 cents. However, when it ends in 4 cents it will NOT drop anymore. If it ends in 9 cents, it's just on sale or on a non-clearance reduction." Also, note that, typically, games will drop three times-- from 30%, 50%, then to the final drop of 75% off of the original price. Some people, however, have seen further drops up to 85%.

When games are marked down, the price change team typically find the game and scan it with their PDA/LRT to intiate the price change. However, in the case that they cannot find the game, they will either choose to not drop the price further or process the price change anyway, figuring that the game is somewhere in the store.

When posting deals, please include game, system, price, city and state. For example:
Debbie Does Skywalker, Xbox 360, $4.98
Mesa, AZ Power Road at Superstition Springs

Also, a great help when you're posting deals you've found is to check this post and see if your item's DPCI number is already listed. DPCI stands for Department, Class, Item-- it's Target's version of a SKU. These are a nine digit number that can always be found on your receipt and also on the red clearance tags on the item itself. DPCI numbers are handy to have when you want to check the item's price-- just go over to your scanner and punch in the numbers, if your scanners have keypads. Also, you can give these numbers to team members so they can check the availability of the item easily with their PDA scanners. Please post any DPCI numbers that are not already in the OP-- thanks!

Here is a fairly easy way to check your local Target's pricing-- often price tags will not be correct. Thanks to BigDirty for this:
1) Go to Half.com or a similar site. Search for the game to locate its UPC code number. It's in the gray box underneath the box art graphic.
2) Go to UPC Data ,Milk.com , or UPC Database and enter the code so you can print out the UPC. Go to Target and use the price scanners to scan your printouts.

Thanks to Mephitical for this tool for locating clearance titles, which is located here. Go to Amazon or Target to find the item's ASIN. When you find it, replace "B000O3IS48" in the URL with your item's ASIN. This will take you to a page asking you for your zip code. Type in your zip code and click enter-- this will display a list of local stores and whether or not they have your item in stock. YMMV on it working properly.

The lowest known price will be posted. The item could be higher or lower at your store. Numbers in yellow are DPCI numbers, which can be used to check the prices of items on newer scanners.

Trust me, if the store has a good management team, anything that is stashed overnight or when the store is near dead will be found and either returned to Guest Services for reshop or put back on the shelf by a team member. The most irritating part for us is we need to put that stuff back on shelves and if it isn't where it belongs, it makes our job a lot harder.

I don't see as hiding the game as stealing, but making it unfair to the other guests.

If you don't have the money to purchase it, put it back where it belongs and press your luck: come back when you have the money. If you're extremely nice to the team member, they may even hold it for you for a short period. As per our policy, we cannot hold sale items or clearance items, but YMMV. It depends on how many we have on hand, the team member, etc.

And trust me, markdowns are not always weekly, so don't get your hopes up too high. The only game that had a markdown at our store compared to the clearance sticker was Guitar Hero: World Tour Guitar Kit for the Wii. It was priced at $41.98, rang up at $22.98.

GTA 4 (PC version) is $20 at the Orange County, CA targets. I know it has been that price already at other targets but it seems to take longer for price drops at most OC area targets. I saw 5 copies at the 17th/Grand Santa Ana Target.

Killbomb, I saw 4-5 copies of Wanted for $12.48 at the Edwardsville, IL store on Friday. I'm not sure where you are in StL, but if you head east on 270 into IL you take it to the 159 exit (turn left) and it's 5 minutes down on your right. Here's the address if that helps:

Friday, I picked up Monsters vs Aliens for $12.98 on PS3.

Picked up the last copy of Battlestations Pacific in Gurnee, IL for $14.98. It'll serve as trade fodder or get returned. They had a ton of shovelware 360 games and PS3 games. Also had PGR4 for 13.98 which I passed up since it's normally 20.

No worries friend. Both are great games. I picked up Motorstorm 1 last year and still enjoy it. A very memorable racing game.

man i really need to find a guitar hero world tour. I stopped by the Streetsboro location and found nothing, man you guys have cleaared that store out. Did however get 2 things of axe for the 600 microsoft points, I like the scrubbers that come with it so its a really good deal for me even though I hate the shampoo.

Yeah, I think so too. Haven't seen any new games on the shelves in a while. A lot of the current stock is being sold out too. My Targets are pretty much barren.

I didn't find much at Target this week, really didn't find much at all. But anyhow, I just thought I would share something I did find . I was looking at the clearance games and there happens to be a Western Digital drive on the shelf, so I turn it over to see how much it was and it was around $50 I was a little surprised, my store actually had something priced better than other stores. Then, I look and see it is a whopping 256mb, jackpot!!!

That's all. I will probably head back to Target on Tuesday, but probably won't find much if they did mark anything else down since I will probably be a few days late, but it never hurts to check!

Not much at the Targets I checked today but I did see the Operation Anchorage and the Pitt FO3 expansion disc on clearance for the first time. The other FO3 expansion disc has yet to be clearanced.

On Friday, I passed by a Target that I've never been to before and found 2 copies of the Socom bundle at $29.98. This was only the 2nd store where I've found the bundle. I'm not likely to return to that Target but I didn't want to pay that much for the bundle so I passed. I thought about doing a return/rebuy but decided that it wasn't worth it to me.

There were some coupons laying around the store so I got 2 boxes of cereal, 3 boxes of snack bars, and a $5 gift card for $11.25. Random.. I know, but that's a shit load of breakfast and before lunch snacks for a college student. $6.25 for phood, and a $5 gift card for a future game purchase.

The ing idiots at my closest Target finally found 2-3 copies of XBlades for PS3 and put them into the clearance schedule that they should've been in a loooooong time ago.

Only sucky part is....the friggin' copies at the store near me are at $41.98 and probably will never drop to $9.98 before someone buys both of them.

Oh well....hopefully in another 7-8 days I can grab a $10 copy from Kmart, since it's also on clearance there and currently $20.

I've been staking out the Meriden, CT Target for weeks now as they had an abundance of Socom Bundles sitting there at $30. I went in today and talked with some of the price change team and got them to scan the game. It went to $14.98!!! So right now there are approximately 38 socom bundles priced at $14.98 (they limited me to 2 copies). Go forth gentlemen and reap the reward!

I've seen Motorstorm Pacific rift at 5 separate targets all marked $41.98 on clearance, so i finally picked one up and asked the cashier to scan it for me and it rang up 14.98 and he said the labels printed wrong or something. So if your out and see them at 41.98, its wrong
