Target clearance is YMMV, ya dig! Games may not even be on clearance at your store, or they may be higher or lower than what is on this list.

This thread is for clearance-- not for sale items. Price reductions for clearance seem to happen on Monday, although not every Monday, but could also occur any day of the week depending on your store's price change team. Price adjustments on clearance are typically not allowed, but some have succeeded or have been able to do as return and rebuy.

Target often donates its older clearance titles to Goodwill stores, so keep that in mind when you're trying to find items. BigDirty: "Further reduction is possible when a game's price ends with 8 cents. However, when it ends in 4 cents it will NOT drop anymore. If it ends in 9 cents, it's just on sale or on a non-clearance reduction." Also, note that, typically, games will drop three times-- from 30%, 50%, then to the final drop of 75% off of the original price. Some people, however, have seen further drops up to 85%.

When games are marked down, the price change team typically find the game and scan it with their PDA/LRT to intiate the price change. However, in the case that they cannot find the game, they will either choose to not drop the price further or process the price change anyway, figuring that the game is somewhere in the store.

When posting deals, please include game, system, price, city and state. For example:
Debbie Does Skywalker, Xbox 360, $4.98
Mesa, AZ Power Road at Superstition Springs

Also, a great help when you're posting deals you've found is to check this post and see if your item's DPCI number is already listed. DPCI stands for Department, Class, Item-- it's Target's version of a SKU. These are a nine digit number that can always be found on your receipt and also on the red clearance tags on the item itself. DPCI numbers are handy to have when you want to check the item's price-- just go over to your scanner and punch in the numbers, if your scanners have keypads. Also, you can give these numbers to team members so they can check the availability of the item easily with their PDA scanners. Please post any DPCI numbers that are not already in the OP-- thanks! This is especially important since some of the DPCI numbers on Target.com start with 241, meaning they cannot be used in-store, and also meaning that I can't get all of the numbers from Target.com.

Here is a fairly easy way to check your local Target's pricing-- often price tags will not be correct. Thanks to BigDirty for this:
1) Go to Half.com or a similar site. Search for the game to locate its UPC code number. It's in the gray box underneath the box art graphic.
2) Go to UPC Data ,Milk.com , or UPC Database and enter the code so you can print out the UPC. Go to Target and use the price scanners to scan your printouts.

Thanks to Mephitical for this tool for locating clearance titles, which is located here. Go to Amazon or Target to find the item's ASIN. When you find it, replace "B000O3IS48" in the URL with your item's ASIN. This will take you to a page asking you for your zip code. Type in your zip code and click enter-- this will display a list of local stores and whether or not they have your item in stock. YMMV on it working properly.

The lowest known price will be posted. The item could be higher or lower at your store. Numbers in yellow are DPCI numbers, which can be used to check the prices of items on newer scanners.

The Legend of EL HOARDO as told by Strell
No cankle too big and no score too small,
The one and only EL HOARDO.

He'll steal your stash - gonna take it all,
That's the one - EL HOARDO.

He's gonna run down all the aisles
and snatch up all the loot,
And he's feeling really confident
in his nipple protection suit!

Awesome sideburns and a dapper mask
He's at your local store,
Gonna clean out everything
And then go back for more!

Who's the guy in the Star Trek shades?
He's the man they call EL HOARDO.

His boots are secretly roller blades,
There he goes! EL HOARDO!

He's got a cape and it's totally sweet,
A flash in red and white,
Calls his fanny pack his utility belt,
He's ready for a discount fight!

You'd never think he could run so fast,
With a gut of giant size,
Asks all the ladies if they'd like a ride
On his Starship Enterprise!

What's that sound comin' down the lane?
It can only be EL HOARDO.

His stubby legs are gonna bring the pain,
Brace yourselves - EL HOARDO!

He packs a sword, it's a replica,
Like Zorro in disguise,
Gonna leave an H scratched on the wall,
Then he'll move those ten ton thighs!

Knows all the price drops all the time,
Has inhalers to survive,
Lives in a basement at his parents house,
At the age of thirty five!

That's the one who got your penny guide,
The stallion called EL HOARDO.

He's got his Rascal parked outside,
That Man-of-Men EL HOARDO.

EL HOOOOOOOARDOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!

"You just got...EL HOARDO'D!" __________________

There have been some confirmed reports of La Whoreda, the female counterpart to El Hoardo. She is obviously more rare in the Target environment since she usually focuses her energy to her Avon business, but caution should still be exercised.
...and I don't want to burn goodwill unless I have to. But I don't think there's anything particularly wrong with raising a little ruckus in that sort of situation.
I agree completely...I never would have let it escalate into anything resembling a "ruckus", i think the only reason i asked to speak to another manager was that the first one didn't look a day over sixteen years old, and if I was going to get shot down, I wanted it to come from a grown up. :)
I asked to speak with him, and when he came out i explained to him that i wasn't looking to rip anybody off, but the item had a clearance sticker, was on the clearance shelf, and i expected to get it for that price. I don't know if I had a leg to stand on or not, I was just going by what I'd heard...he eventually gave in and gave me the clearance price.
You'd have been much better off if you'd said "I realize it's a mistake. Could you guys honor it since it's too much at $49.99 but I was really excited about it?"

Sometimes, not being demanding or "expected to get" will help a ton with store managers.
Isn't it standard policy that a store needs to honor a stickered price as long as it has been determined that the sticker was placed by the store and has not been tampered with? If the manager had said no again that would have been it for me...how far would you have taken it?
Yes, they do have to honor the stickered price...... ONLY if the DPCI on the sticker matches the DPCI of the item in question.

If the DPCI number on the sticker does not match the item in question, like in your case, then no, they don't have to honor anything. Target considers it fraud, as people ALWAYS tamper with/move clearance stickers around to try to get something for nothing -- so even if you were not the person who moved the sticker, someone else did, and did a damn good job of making it look "real". In the end, you were the one who looked like the bad guy because of it.

If I thought it was even remotely possible the sticker had come off of another item, I would not even consider trying to buy it, I would consider that stealing just as much as if I had moved the sticker myself...but it was pristine, and when the manager barely pried up the edge of the red sticker it turned white - no way it was placed there by anybody but the store...

btw, when the code from the clearance sticker was entered, it came up as "xbox 360 rock ba"... is there anything on clearance that would match that, at that price (14.xx)? Like, if the sticker was actually supposed to be on something else, what was it?

Yes. The RB1 drums are priced at $29.99, and I last saw them at $20.98 (30% off). They are about due for a 50% drop, so there you go.

yeah, i thought of that...they had a couple of sets there though, still w/ the 20.98 tags on them...they have the old-style clearance tags on them, the small red/orange ones...the ones on the newer clearnce items, including the item i bought, were bigger, red and white...i think i might go back and compare the numbers on the tags of those drums though, good call...

picked up the strike with rod controller for 360 for 39.xx

Also saw a "repackaged" FFXIII 360 bundle for 280, but was missing a controller, HDD, and game(I LOL'd when the guy told me what was missing)

probably rock band 2 for 360 .. or the rock band drum set.

I found Fable 2 & Sonic's Ultimate Genesis Collection for 360 at $13.49 at the Target on 1960 & Cutten Road. I have both already but anyone who does not have the Genesis Collection yet, at that price, go buy NOW. :D
i was going to look it up when i got home from work...here it is : 207 00 0200
Doesn't turn up anything at Target.com. Seems almost like a generic DCPI.

Damn, that is far from me. I would drive that far out if there were any wired 360 controllers; did you happen to see any? Dumb question: That was Fable 2 regular edition, correct?

I went to Target @ S.Sam Houston Pkwy and didn't find anything new on clearance. I should visit the Target on W. Bay Area Blvd. Have any of y'all Houston CAGs gone there?
Damn, that is far from me. I would drive that far out if there were any wired 360 controllers; did you happen to see any? Dumb question: That was Fable 2 regular edition, correct?

I went to Target @ S.Sam Houston Pkwy and didn't find anything new on clearance. I should visit the Target on W. Bay Area Blvd. Have any of y'all Houston CAGs gone there?
I didn't see any controllers on clearance there, but I think I saw some at the one on 249 & Louetta. And yes, that was the Standard Fable 2 (which I did see once before at a Target for $7.49).

LMAO...so, basically, they were trying to sell an opened 360 Arcade for $80 above retail? Sweet!

At least you get the chrome trim for $80 more. LOL.

Thanks for the info Vyse :)
Just picked up a PS3 10' HDMI w/ included USB cable set for $12.xx:) Was so happy when I found it.
Just got the same this week but for $14.XX at Target in Pikesville, MD. They had a few others. Lots of PS2 games and Sonic Genesis collection for 360.

I picked up My Sims Kingdom :ds: for $7.48. I'll return it once I find a copy for $3.74 or do a return/rebuy. I'm finally starting to see more clearance games at my local Targets. Fable II, SUGC, FF PSP (among others) are at 30% off.

OT - I found and bought a Rubbermaid 7-cup food container at $1.44. I was looking for one for work and was about to buy one for $8. :D

Picked up :360: Dark Void for $7.48 on clearance at the Wadsworth, OH Target. I'm not sure if it was a mistake, cause when I took it to the register it rang up $29.99, but the cashier adjusted it to the sticker price. They had 1 left. I also picked up the last xbox 360 512mb memory card/worms arcade game for $14.99

Even if the games sucks that's a good deal since it came out pretty recently

I agree; it came out on the 19th of January. A couple of weeks back I learned it was $25 on Amazon here, down from $49.99  But to find this game at $7.48, despite decent reviews, it's still a damn great price. Imo, it will probably drop close to that price in the next quarter or so. I'll get it then :D

In Monroe, LA, saw WET for Xbox 360 at $41.XX, a couple of copies of Tiger Woods for Xbox 360 for $29.XX, and a TON of Wii 2000 Points cards, for $13.XX. Also some guitar hero guitars for like $50 and change, and a Band Hero set for PS2 for $111.XX .

Thanks to all you CAGs out there I have come to enjoy "Target Clearance Mondays" as I like to call em hehe. However, after making a trip monday, I went back to the store this friday to pick up some things and noticed additional clearance items on the endcaps that werent there monday, like WET I mentioned above. This might just be my slow store here, (I am in Northeast Louisiana after all) but im sure it wouldn't hurt to check clearance on fridays if you are able to.

Not game related but:
i can't believe metroid prime trilogy won't drop yet. my store has like 3 copies just sitting at retail ;p
I find most targets dedicate more shelf space to the wii than the other platforms. So unless it's a shite shovelware game or a movie tie in, there's less of a chance of it clearancing.

But that's just my observation of local stores.

My Target had Western Digital 500 GB External Hard drives for around $50. But these are the kind that require an AC adapter and aren't just powered via USB cable.

Try Sears if you haven't already. It's on clearance there.

I checked my other local Target last night and they STILL have copies of Aion for PC and they're STILL ringing up $49.99. WTF!?!?!?!?

I also noticed that the shelf placard for the monitor(Acer h213h 21.5" LCD with HDMI) I'm using with my PS3 is MIA and in it's place is some red placard with a big ass UPC on it. The one employee told me that they 'may be clearancing the monitor' as those red placards sometimes indicate that.

I hope not though, since I still want to grab another one as a spare, since it's a pretty good HD display. If they DO clearance it out though, I hope they replace it with a newer model by the same maker and it also has an HDMI port on it.

Yup check sears, and they make no price distinction between the LE and the regular one either. I picked up the LE yesterday. still debating on whether or not to keep it sealed.

Has anyone found the Canon 780IS on clearance lower than $199.98? I have been keeping my eye on one at my local Target for 3 weeks and it still hasn't dropped.

Had one of those and had to return it. The autofocus SUCKED.

Could have been a lemon but just fyi.
Just a thought with DSI XL coming in, ALL these lots of OLD DSI might be clearanced out!
Is there a target price drop pattern that I'm unaware of?

Most external drives like this use a similar AC connection. I have 500GB Verbatim and Seagate drives that came with their own, but can switch the AC cables. Only the USB connection is different in that one uses the mini-usb and the other uses regular connector.
FYI, I spotted PS2 DJ Hero, GH5, and Band Hero bundles @30% off today in the wild.
Saw them as well today. Hoping for the 360 at 50%, and want it to be off the current MSRP of $99.99!

Maybe, but with the $155 sale Target had this past week, I visited two locations this morning and both were completely sold out of DSi's.
