Target clearance is YMMV, ya dig! Games may not even be on clearance at your store, or they may be higher or lower than what is on this list.

This thread is for clearance-- not for sale items. Price reductions for clearance seem to happen on Monday, although not every Monday, but could also occur any day of the week depending on your store's price change team. Price adjustments on clearance are typically not allowed, but some have succeeded or have been able to do as return and rebuy.

Target often donates its older clearance titles to Goodwill stores, so keep that in mind when you're trying to find items. BigDirty: "Further reduction is possible when a game's price ends with 8 cents. However, when it ends in 4 cents it will NOT drop anymore. If it ends in 9 cents, it's just on sale or on a non-clearance reduction." Also, note that, typically, games will drop three times-- from 30%, 50%, then to the final drop of 75% off of the original price. Some people, however, have seen further drops up to 85%.

When games are marked down, the price change team typically find the game and scan it with their PDA/LRT to intiate the price change. However, in the case that they cannot find the game, they will either choose to not drop the price further or process the price change anyway, figuring that the game is somewhere in the store.

When posting deals, please include game, system, price, city and state. For example:
Debbie Does Skywalker, Xbox 360, $4.98
Mesa, AZ Power Road at Superstition Springs

Also, a great help when you're posting deals you've found is to check this post and see if your item's DPCI number is already listed. DPCI stands for Department, Class, Item-- it's Target's version of a SKU. These are a nine digit number that can always be found on your receipt and also on the red clearance tags on the item itself. DPCI numbers are handy to have when you want to check the item's price-- just go over to your scanner and punch in the numbers, if your scanners have keypads. Also, you can give these numbers to team members so they can check the availability of the item easily with their PDA scanners. Please post any DPCI numbers that are not already in the OP-- thanks! This is especially important since some of the DPCI numbers on Target.com start with 241, meaning they cannot be used in-store, and also meaning that I can't get all of the numbers from Target.com.

Here is a fairly easy way to check your local Target's pricing-- often price tags will not be correct. Thanks to BigDirty for this:
1) Go to Half.com or a similar site. Search for the game to locate its UPC code number. It's in the gray box underneath the box art graphic.
2) Go to UPC Data ,Milk.com , or UPC Database and enter the code so you can print out the UPC. Go to Target and use the price scanners to scan your printouts.

Thanks to Mephitical for this tool for locating clearance titles, which is located here. Go to Amazon or Target to find the item's ASIN. When you find it, replace "B000O3IS48" in the URL with your item's ASIN. This will take you to a page asking you for your zip code. Type in your zip code and click enter-- this will display a list of local stores and whether or not they have your item in stock. YMMV on it working properly.

The lowest known price will be posted. The item could be higher or lower at your store. Numbers in yellow are DPCI numbers, which can be used to check the prices of items on newer scanners.

The Legend of EL HOARDO as told by Strell
No cankle too big and no score too small,
The one and only EL HOARDO.

He'll steal your stash - gonna take it all,
That's the one - EL HOARDO.

He's gonna run down all the aisles
and snatch up all the loot,
And he's feeling really confident
in his nipple protection suit!

Awesome sideburns and a dapper mask
He's at your local store,
Gonna clean out everything
And then go back for more!

Who's the guy in the Star Trek shades?
He's the man they call EL HOARDO.

His boots are secretly roller blades,
There he goes! EL HOARDO!

He's got a cape and it's totally sweet,
A flash in red and white,
Calls his fanny pack his utility belt,
He's ready for a discount fight!

You'd never think he could run so fast,
With a gut of giant size,
Asks all the ladies if they'd like a ride
On his Starship Enterprise!

What's that sound comin' down the lane?
It can only be EL HOARDO.

His stubby legs are gonna bring the pain,
Brace yourselves - EL HOARDO!

He packs a sword, it's a replica,
Like Zorro in disguise,
Gonna leave an H scratched on the wall,
Then he'll move those ten ton thighs!

Knows all the price drops all the time,
Has inhalers to survive,
Lives in a basement at his parents house,
At the age of thirty five!

That's the one who got your penny guide,
The stallion called EL HOARDO.

He's got his Rascal parked outside,
That Man-of-Men EL HOARDO.

EL HOOOOOOOARDOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!

"You just got...EL HOARDO'D!" __________________

There have been some confirmed reports of La Whoreda, the female counterpart to El Hoardo. She is obviously more rare in the Target environment since she usually focuses her energy to her Avon business, but caution should still be exercised.
Picked up Fable 2 platinum hits for $9.98 & Dark Void for $14.98
U lucky S.O.B!!!! :applause: why can't I find these deals at my target!
I spent $150 on it, but I just don't wanna end up going back to my SDtv. I got so used to HD now. Plus, I moved my SDtv back upstairs and don't feel like lugging it back downstairs again.

Like I said, it was definitely an open box return that was just tossed back in the box somewhat. There was no foam packing around the screen, so it was flopping back and forth in the box. I was shocked that all of the cables it came with(DVI/VGA/HDMI/power/audio out)were still in the package and returned with it too.

But there were a bunch of scuff marks on the case of the monitor and some smudges on the screen too.

It's a shame that they're sold out in my area(and it's on clearance now:bomb:) or it'd be a no brainer to return it today, pay the extra $10 and just get a 100% factory sealed one.

I'd really prefer one in the same price range, full HD and with a built in HDMI port and speakers so I don't have to buy a DVI/HDMI adapter or surround sound system for it. But every one I've looked at is bleh and/or overpriced imo.

As for the spots, they're not constant, but they have only started to show up within the last week or so.
If I were in your shoes, I would play it safe, return the TV and put that money towards something you know is fresh out of the box and is going to work without issues.

Ultimately, in the end it's your decision but I'm just trying to help a brother out.

yeah IATCG, its almost common sense to take something back w/in the return period if its not working right (ie. your spots) I wouldn't even think twice about it, especially when it comes to monitors or TVs. Hell, I remember when I got the first PSP on launch day, everyone was talking dead pixels. I got mine, got in the car, bam, 1 little bitty dead pixel! Immediately went back inside and returned it w/o thinking..

whats holding you back? just do it!

damn logitech harmony controllers were marked more than what was mentioned at half price. I wonder how long before the 720 gets to $39 if it was still at $100+.
What do you mean by Rockband the M.I.C. what does that stand for?
dude, the Rockband the M.I.C. is a 3rd party peripheral by MadCatz I think. Not sure what the acronymn means, if anything at all..Its just marked that way w/ the period after each letter. The beauty of it, is the fact that it has controls built right on for all the functions, thus, not requiring you to have a controller paired to that microphone. It makes it really easy to use and set up. It also has a sliding lock it, so when the song starts, just slide that lock and you can press any button on it, and it won't do anything. Pretty sweet. I almost wanted to pick another one up (I bought it for $30 thinking that was a great deal, they were originally $50!) but figured I'd be really cheap and if I ever needed to use more than one mic, those would be paired w/ a controller

edit: just can't say it enough, it you play and enjoy Rock Band, you need this mic!! search it out before they're gone for good..

OK I know this one. Its the mic with all the controls on it, I almost bought that for $30 once too, but passed because its not wireless.
Thanks for clearing that up :)
Whoa. This new game layout is weird wild stuff, maaaaaaaaaan.
haha, last night when I asked for pics, I was being serious! I'm jealous you guys are getting to see this..I've been to 5 Targets since Saturday, and haven't seen anything..

so put those cell phone camera's to good use!!

If it's any consolation IATCG, that Acer monitor is still full price around here. Only one store had it marked down, to $111, but they were sold out.

And the Westinghouse TV someone mentioned was also full price.

No decent games whatsoever.

Makes me really wish I had a PS3 9-10 months ago, when my area was swimming in deep clearance games....

Saw a pair of Dualshock 2 Silver Analog Controllers for $17.48ish. Other than that, squadoosh. (Oh, and what the heck is the difference between the analog and other Dualshock 2's? Perhaps I'm dense.)
As for new drops, everyone keep an eye on the Targets that haven't yet switched to the new video game sections. A lot of stores will be remodeling to this setup this month and into next month, and as such, a LOT of electronic items are going clearance, including most of the PS2 games (which I don't believe will be carried anymore.)
That explains the situation at my local store. I was just there today and there are red stickers everywhere in electronics. Gonna keep hitting it up and hope I can score something decent. Crossing my fingers.

Got the first Raving Rabbids for Wii today : $4.98. I scanned it and got $0.00 and found a guy with a scan gun in the electronics section and he gave me the price/rang me out.
I, of course, had peeled off the $13.98 sticker.

I'm already annoyed as I have seen some targets put clearance tagged items in these cases..but then again it's best for them to be where there at so the local El'Stasho doesn't end up putting them in the bath section.

Spotted IATCG's LCD for $75 as a "repackage"/display model.(still had the display thing on top with the features)

A lot of Targets have their entire PS2 inventory on clearance, and not just the 'plastic prison' stores.

I did pick up a MOTOROKR T505 BlueTooth car speaker for $24.98 and am impressed with it.

Spotted Bayonetta ($41.99) and Lego Rock Band ($9.99) for PS3 at the Bayshore/Gandy Target. I would have gotten Lego Rock Band at that price for 360 :| Tons of DS and Wii stuff I didn't bother to go through.
damn logitech harmony controllers were marked more than what was mentioned at half price. I wonder how long before the 720 gets to $39 if it was still at $100+.
At my Target the 720 was $104 last week and dropped to $37 this week. So I would keep checking on it, as it could drop quickly.

Coulda sworn I saw Punch Out Wii mentioned being found at a clearance price a little while ago, but I can't find it in the thread. It's still full price at my couple Targets. What was it being sold at for those that grabbed it?

Boise Target. About 6 WD USB 500gb drives for 48.XX and 1 beatles rock band for 119.00. let me know if youre in need and we can work something out. nothing good gamewise that i saw.

I stopped by a local Target which, now, has the plastic prison:

:psp: resistance retribution $19.xx
:psp: motorstorm arctic edge $19.xx
:psp: star wars: clone wars $13.xx
:psp: sf alpha max $10.xx
:ds: ninjatown $9.xx
:ds: clubhouse games $13.xx
:ds: atari retro classics $4.xx
:ps2: TMNT smash up $9.xx
:ps2: secret agent clank $3.xx
:ps2: god of war $13.xx
:360: 512 mb memory card $20.xx

Those are the prices that I do remember. There was a bunch of DS, PS2, PSP and Wii shovelware.

I miss the old format in which games sit in giant glass cases. Also, it seems that because of the plastic prison they are slowly putting on clearance all those bargain priced games ($14.99 and below), which lined one side of an aisle before the installation of the plastic prison.

So has anyone described the "plastic prison"? I'm assuming none of the stores here have converted yet, because they all seem normal. Most games are in the big glass case. ?

This is how it was at mine (which I will try to snap pics of tomorrow for reference/token's request):

Normally, Target has that cash register area with all the cameras, sort of like a "circle" (you know what I mean). Instead of that, and instead of the glass cases, there's now rows of bright white shelves. Each one has rows, and now games are displayed face forward, one copy in a clear lucite box (like you'd see at Best Buy). They also have a chain affixed to them. You can pick the game up and look at the back, but you can't walk around with it. I imagine this means you have to get an employee to either unlock it, or they have them stocked somewhere. On the end caps, there were demo units of consoles set up, which have an old school flavor to them over Target's previous "controller and screen floating in midair" thing.

Accessories are hung on peg boards like normal, but the whole thing is much more streamlined and minimalist. There's less room overall for stuff. It looks a bit more futuristic in practice - almost like what you'd expect Apple to do, if that makes any sense.

As I said, I'll try to take pics tomorrow and upload them in the afternoon for all those interested.

Someone in here claimed to be a Target employee, and that "we might clearance out PS2 games." I noticed a bunch of mine were on clearance today, but they are the general crap you associate with a dying console - movie tie ins, licenses, random shovelware, and the slightly rare but good GH branded games.

El Hoardo does not stuff games in panties. Panties disintegrate when they feel his gravitational pull. Ask all the ladies.

lol! thanks strell, that would be sweet, just went to another one, same glass cases as always  I did notice the Rock Band 2 Cymbal Expansion kit for $14.98..other than that, yeah, a bunch of PS2 games on clearance. Also thought to myself after seeing a Bioshock 2 LE still hanging around, what are the chances of that being clearanced and surviving two drops?! Saw the Logitech 620 Harmony for $70..still way to expensive..

Some clearance games are still locked in plastic cases and put at the end cap clearance sections. So, people can still hide clearance games wherever they want in the store.
IATCG... your monitor is still under warranty if you don't want to give it up. just as long as you have the receipt you can do it.
Only problem with using the warranty is, I'm still out the monitor till it's repaired or whatever and they may send me back a different one that's in worse condition. My friends and I seem to have all the rotten luck usually when it pertains to sending off electronics to be 'fixed' by the companies that make them.

My one friend personally went through about 5-7 PS2's last gen till they just sent him a new in box PStwo slim to replace the last defective fat model they sent him.

I've seen that setup at the Target in Mechanicsburg PA(near Harrisburg. FYI: The whole section of shelf lifts up to reveal shelves behind the ones with the plastic 'prisons' with games locked in them. On those hidden shelves are the loose copies of the games on display.
It's in the eyes and tone, and was completely discernible. His tone was there from the moment I asked him if he could "please" scan one of the many copies of NGS. Please don't think that I am calling out all Target employees, as I have never worked in retail but have respect for those who do....that is until I feel proper courteous etiquette has been broken. I'm sorry they have to jack with keys to open the case, however these games are expensive and for that kind of money...I want to see/read the back of the game and shouldn't be made to feel like I'm putting an employee working in electronics out by doing so.

The part about the low pay was just a guess as I was nothing but courteous. Add that to my general policy of respecting elders, this particular employee did not strike me as the type who enjoyed talking to customers. I was clearly given the opposite impression.

It was one of those situations that you would have to experience yourself to understand.

Again, no disrespect to older men who work in retail. Just Quid pro quo is my mantra.
No worries, I see your point of view. We used to have this guy that worked for Target for eons, and wow what a PITA he was for customers. He thought he had the entire movie/game catalogue memorized and whether or not we had any copies in stock, so whenever someone asked, he would quickly say "NO" and move on, or in the rare case he'd obligue and lead them to the area where it was at.

I was impressed until I started double checking behind his back just to be sure, and sure enough, most of the time he just wanted people to go away instead of helping them.

Needless to say, he's no longer with the company. Disgruntled retail workers exist, and your fellow there could very well have been one of them.

I'll snap some 'plastic prison' pics tomorrow.

That was me. Figures that as soon as I post that, we got about 8 PS2 slims in on the overnight freight. So who knows anymore. The majority of the PS2 games that were in the value gaming aisle (i.e. non locked up games) are getting clearanced out from the looks of it, but they may keep some PS2 games in the new layout.

From the blue prints that my ETL was showing me the other day, there were three demo unit end caps set up for Wii, PS3, and XBox 360, with a set of glass cases beneath each unit containing the actual system box. I didn't see one for PS2, so that's what led me to believe that Target was phasing out the PS2. Maybe they'll put the spider-wraps around them.

What sucks is that what we usually use as our clearance endcaps for games and accessories will likely be replaced with those demo units. I liked being able to concentrate all the clearance in one spot -- it makes it easier for price change to sweep through Monday morning instead of hunting down every item their PDA is telling them to mark down.

On the plus side, el Hoardo will have a much tougher time should we be required to keep all the clearance games locked up in these new cases. :)

My understanding is that the extra games will go behind the tethered game, because the case behind it actually opens up. The idea behind the revamp is to maintain the purpose of the glass cases while still allowing people to turn a game case around to read about it on the back.

Certain stores will also have a cool giant touch screen kiosk set up that allows people to look up game information and ratings.

Talk to any Target electronics employee, and I'm sure they're pretty excited about the changes. The shelves will all be 3/5ths height now so the space feels a lot more open, and getting help in our area should be a lot easier too because of this.

I don't know if it's quite Apple quality, but it's nice having this increased focus on Electronics by the bigwigs in Minneapolis. Ever since Circuit City went kaput, there is a wide open gap for Target to take if they'd like to compete a little more with Best Buy (who people, at least in my area, are desperate to avoid.)

No one bitch at me if this in on the list already (I searched "mic" and "rock band").

Anyways, I was at target today and found the Rock Band 2 Mic/Controller for $14.98.

I checked another target and they had some priced at $20.98, but rang up at $14.98.

So ya, add...

[207-00-0200] Rock Band 2 M.I.C. Controller

...or whatever ya want to call it to the list under $14.98.
I got a 500GB WD Elements External HD for $34.98 on Clearance at my local Target reg price was $69.99
I got one for the same price, but somebody else found it for HALF that price! :whistle2:#

Today at one store I picked up 2 XBOX360 black batteries for $5.98 each and At another store I got wii 3" aerobic step for $12.48 and wii boxing gloves for $14.98.

I already hate those new cases. I was in a store the other day that had switched over, and already they were disorganized, with games hidden from (easy) view back behind different games in the front. In order to see what's back there, it's necessary to pull out every single game in the front and try to look back behind, but with the narrower angles it's impossible to see what's back there when things are really stacked. And yes, there were some clearance titles stuck back in there (nothing worthwhile, but who knows what will turn up later).

And they've only had the freaking things for a week! I can only imagine it's going to get worse as time goes on.

Almost all the PS3 cables and starter kits and the like are on clearance at my target. No good prices right now, but if they drop to 75% I will probably pick some up.

Picked up two fable 2 platinum editions for 9.xx and dark void for 14.xx. Not too shabby! The cashier asked me to hide the last fable so I gladly did it for him (since he was waiting for dark void to drop again).

At another one I went to they had the motherload of half off clearance nintendo wii point cards.
I need a PS2 Slim. Clearanced out soon?
Seems inevitable although I don't know if my Target has any left.

My one clearance console purchase was a platinum GC for $25 back in (I think) mid 2008. Worth it for the controller alone.

My store had about 40+ of these in the bottom of the glass case, all tagged at 50% off... I cant wait for the 75% off drop. I'll buy 20 of them... especially with that damn 800 pt FFIV After Years installment crap and the likelihood of the stupid episodic crap they are enjoying

Just throwing out there I picked up a Ninja Gaiden Sigma 2 for the ps3 on clearance for 14.96 at the broadway/craycroft target in Tucson. I got the last one but who knows other targets everywhere may be doing this.

Just trying to give back to the community.
