Target clearance is YMMV, ya dig! Games may not even be on clearance at your store, or they may be higher or lower than what is on this list.

This thread is for clearance-- not for sale items. Price reductions for clearance seem to happen on Monday, although not every Monday, but could also occur any day of the week depending on your store's price change team. Price adjustments on clearance are typically not allowed, but some have succeeded or have been able to do as return and rebuy.

Target often donates its older clearance titles to Goodwill stores, so keep that in mind when you're trying to find items. BigDirty: "Further reduction is possible when a game's price ends with 8 cents. However, when it ends in 4 cents it will NOT drop anymore. If it ends in 9 cents, it's just on sale or on a non-clearance reduction." Also, note that, typically, games will drop three times-- from 30%, 50%, then to the final drop of 75% off of the original price. Some people, however, have seen further drops up to 85%.

When games are marked down, the price change team typically find the game and scan it with their PDA/LRT to intiate the price change. However, in the case that they cannot find the game, they will either choose to not drop the price further or process the price change anyway, figuring that the game is somewhere in the store.

When posting deals, please include game, system, price, city and state. For example:
Debbie Does Skywalker, Xbox 360, $4.98
Mesa, AZ Power Road at Superstition Springs

Also, a great help when you're posting deals you've found is to check this post and see if your item's DPCI number is already listed. DPCI stands for Department, Class, Item-- it's Target's version of a SKU. These are a nine digit number that can always be found on your receipt and also on the red clearance tags on the item itself. DPCI numbers are handy to have when you want to check the item's price-- just go over to your scanner and punch in the numbers, if your scanners have keypads. Also, you can give these numbers to team members so they can check the availability of the item easily with their PDA scanners. Please post any DPCI numbers that are not already in the OP-- thanks! This is especially important since some of the DPCI numbers on Target.com start with 241, meaning they cannot be used in-store, and also meaning that I can't get all of the numbers from Target.com.

Here is a fairly easy way to check your local Target's pricing-- often price tags will not be correct. Thanks to BigDirty for this:
1) Go to Half.com or a similar site. Search for the game to locate its UPC code number. It's in the gray box underneath the box art graphic.
2) Go to UPC Data ,Milk.com , or UPC Database and enter the code so you can print out the UPC. Go to Target and use the price scanners to scan your printouts.

Thanks to Mephitical for this tool for locating clearance titles, which is located here. Go to Amazon or Target to find the item's ASIN. When you find it, replace "B000O3IS48" in the URL with your item's ASIN. This will take you to a page asking you for your zip code. Type in your zip code and click enter-- this will display a list of local stores and whether or not they have your item in stock. YMMV on it working properly.

The lowest known price will be posted. The item could be higher or lower at your store. Numbers in yellow are DPCI numbers, which can be used to check the prices of items on newer scanners.

The Legend of EL HOARDO as told by Strell
No cankle too big and no score too small,
The one and only EL HOARDO.

He'll steal your stash - gonna take it all,
That's the one - EL HOARDO.

He's gonna run down all the aisles
and snatch up all the loot,
And he's feeling really confident
in his nipple protection suit!

Awesome sideburns and a dapper mask
He's at your local store,
Gonna clean out everything
And then go back for more!

Who's the guy in the Star Trek shades?
He's the man they call EL HOARDO.

His boots are secretly roller blades,
There he goes! EL HOARDO!

He's got a cape and it's totally sweet,
A flash in red and white,
Calls his fanny pack his utility belt,
He's ready for a discount fight!

You'd never think he could run so fast,
With a gut of giant size,
Asks all the ladies if they'd like a ride
On his Starship Enterprise!

What's that sound comin' down the lane?
It can only be EL HOARDO.

His stubby legs are gonna bring the pain,
Brace yourselves - EL HOARDO!

He packs a sword, it's a replica,
Like Zorro in disguise,
Gonna leave an H scratched on the wall,
Then he'll move those ten ton thighs!

Knows all the price drops all the time,
Has inhalers to survive,
Lives in a basement at his parents house,
At the age of thirty five!

That's the one who got your penny guide,
The stallion called EL HOARDO.

He's got his Rascal parked outside,
That Man-of-Men EL HOARDO.

EL HOOOOOOOARDOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!

ElHoardo1.jpg

"You just got...EL HOARDO'D!" __________________

There have been some confirmed reports of La Whoreda, the female counterpart to El Hoardo. She is obviously more rare in the Target environment since she usually focuses her energy to her Avon business, but caution should still be exercised.

Probably just rumor control but I pulled some PTM batches today (most PTM stuff is likely to go clearance imminently) and it asked me to pull a lot of DS games and...DS Lites. I won't guarantee it but maybe DS Lites will be clearanced soon? I could use a new one...my shoulder buttons are shot.

I think there were some Brain Age DS bundles on clearance not too long ago (though I never saw one to confirm), so it's not too surprising. Also, with the DSi XL coming soon, I'm sure Target needs the shelf space. I've never owned a DS of any kind so I say bring it on :D
went to my local target. demon's souls and sigma 2 are still going for 59.99
I called my locals and they said they don't carry them in stock. Us Demon Soulers are getting the shaft!

You lucky dog, I am gonna hit my Target tomorrow and scan those cases like a bum in a dumpster. Demon's Souls will be mine. I do also think this is area specific cause San Diego Target's stock is horrible.

Great news, my fatty PS2 is getting a bit long in the tooth, this would be a nice pickup at 50% or 75%.

Sign me up for both if its true.

Saw 6 copies of Demon's Souls at my target in Kingsport, TN for 29.xx. Hope they stick around till the next drop. Unfortunately that's all they had in the way of games.
You dont have to ask to get a game from the case to scan = instant win in my book
No the games are still attached with a retractable wire to the shelf so you cannot take them to get scanned.

They have this system in one of the local stores I go to all the time. Soemtimes they do take clearance games out of the cases and put them on the endcap, but I have seen some clearance games that stay in the plastic cases.
damn logitech harmony controllers were marked more than what was mentioned at half price. I wonder how long before the 720 gets to $39 if it was still at $100+.
No games other than DS games on clearance in Nashville, but I did pick up the Harmony 620 for $24.98.

That plastic prison thing isn't much different from glass case. You still can't take the game away from it. Not that big of a change to me.

About a dozen Resident Evil 5's (PS3 only) showed up out of nowhere in the clearance section. They were marked $20.xx.

What is the lowest this has dropped?

I'll pick it up around the $10 mark....but lower wouldn't be bad either.

Absolutely nothing else to be found except PS2 swag.

true, guess I didn't think about it like that..well this definitely puts a damper on checking unmarked games..guess we'll have to see how it unfolds.

hopefully they still have endcaps, and/or the one 'open' row where the budget titles always go..

Oh shit, I'm actually over in Johnson City... hadn't thought to check the Kingsport Target.

Wish I had an excuse to drive 30 mins for that. Or $30 to buy it. Damn.
I need a PS2 Slim. Clearanced out soon?
You may want to also check Radio Shack, as they clearanced out one of the PStwo slim models a while back. I'm not sure of the model they cleared out, but there was a thread about it on CAG.

Nothing at two of our local Targets. Picked up a pack of Psyclone PSP screen protectors for $2.xx. Was on the hunt for that Harmony 720 a few people were talking about. Only thing I found was the 610 for $49.xx. Weak sauce.

Better not get too greedy. That's an excellent price.

My Target in Dallas, has the 2000 Wii Points Cards for $13.98, snagged 3 of those (had the whole full of them) also non game related they had a 3 CD Rolling Stone Classic Rock hits cd for $4.98

Damn all kinda guys in my area poppin up now .....very cool..... I live in Blountville.

I must have missed Demon Souls, I was just at Kport Target Tuesday and didnt see much worth picking up cept a Scoche car FM trasnmitter for a Ipod (Reg. $70 and marked down to $15)...

Was also over at JC Target earlier this week and didnt see much there either but snagged a DS mobile charger kit for like $5

Seems like since X-mas the Tr-Cities targets just havent had much in games, or Im just not hitting them quick enough on usual Monday target runs.

nothing new at my local target except for new video game section but i did pick up those duracell AAA 16 pack for 1.49, and after some searching around i found the AA 16+4 pack for 2.49 but the AA pack does not come with a $1 off coupon, pick up $20 worth of batteries

I think the new "prison system" is also so employees can better watch customers. I can't tell you how many times I've seen some of the 360 messenger kits or other kits opened and the point or Gold membership cards removed. And I'm sure there's also been times when an employee didn't quite lock the glass case perfectly, and someone took off with a game.

Not saying I like it, because the one store near me that has this DOESN'T put their clearance games on the end caps, so they've always been bare wherever a clearance game was.

Seen at Tanasbourne Target near Beaverton, OR:
GoW 2 GH 13.98
GTA Vice City Stories PSP 13.98
Final Fantasy PSP 10.98 - almost bought it, but I'm spending money I don't have now
DJ Hero 55.98

I saw at the Balboa Ave:
A handful of DS shovelware
World of Zoo (PC) 4.98
Star Wars: Clone War Republic (PC) - 7.48
Saints Row (360) - 13.98

They still have 3 of those off brand GPS units still at the 80.xx price point

Probably the biggest benefit is that we no longer have to awkwardly hold the case open as we wait for parents to read the backs to every game. Normally this isn't a huge deal, but with the cutbacks in hours, there's often only been one of us around to cover the electronics area, and very little sales floor support when almost the entire store is up front backing up check lanes.

Gets to be somewhat of a hassle when mom or dad can't decide which game to get their kid, and another customer wants the iPod case unlocked, or needs help with the cameras. (Also makes for a nice distraction if two thieves are working in tandem. :bomb:)

That pic posted earlier looks like a horrible shot... probably because the case isn't completely filled up. Empty game case spots are a huge pet peeve of mine.

Found :ps3: IL2 Sturmovik: Birds of Prey for $14.97 at an out of town Target. Other than that, there's way pretty much just shovelware. :psp: GTA Vice City Stories (GH version) was $10.98, but that's an old drop.
As promised, here's a picture of a 'plastic prison' game section.

Hmm, if your target has a plastic prison, mine must be the white collar version as it has "wood" spaces for things (if I recall the material). you cant get a game out without an employee. i'll try to get a pic next time i go.
Who cares about video game clearance (just kidding) but I found those Reese's Easter Eggs (yellow package) for $0.14 EACH! Infuckingsane.
 My wife got me some of those cadbury eggs for like .75 for a 4 pack!

I had not checked Tanasbourne this week, thanks for the info but was DJHero for what system?

Oh the other day at work, the pallets in the back that are part of the new electronics design said "Video Game Reinvention." These were just fixtures for presentation purposes, but I couldn't help but chuckle inside.

Honestly I didn't look, there was at least 2 of them on different shelves, so perhaps 2 systems at the least.
You may want to also check Radio Shack, as they clearanced out one of the PStwo slim models a while back. I'm not sure of the model they cleared out, but there was a thread about it on CAG.
they have the slim ps2's for 40 bones ymmv..my radioshack had one the other day

Don't know if anyone else has seen a copy - or if it has been mentioned - but I found a copy of Bass Pro Shop: The Strike (w/rod controller) [X360] for $20. I've been watching this copy for a while and it was sticking at $40 forever and I figured I might as well check it on the scanner and... Poof! It was actually $20 and I couldn't pass on $20 for some useless game and peripheral.

I assume this is more of an extreme YMMV clearance item as I have never seen this game on clearance at any other Target ever.

Yeah, I guess "Redesign" sounded too dull. I'm thinking about going around to all the boxes, crossing out "Reinvention" and put "Video Games: Lets Try This Again, shall we..."
