Target clearance is YMMV, ya dig! Games may not even be on clearance at your store, or they may be higher or lower than what is on this list.

This thread is for clearance-- not for sale items. Price reductions for clearance seem to happen on Monday, although not every Monday, but could also occur any day of the week depending on your store's price change team. Price adjustments on clearance are typically not allowed, but some have succeeded or have been able to do as return and rebuy.

Target often donates its older clearance titles to Goodwill stores, so keep that in mind when you're trying to find items. BigDirty: "Further reduction is possible when a game's price ends with 8 cents. However, when it ends in 4 cents it will NOT drop anymore. If it ends in 9 cents, it's just on sale or on a non-clearance reduction." Also, note that, typically, games will drop three times-- from 30%, 50%, then to the final drop of 75% off of the original price. Some people, however, have seen further drops up to 85%.

When games are marked down, the price change team typically find the game and scan it with their PDA/LRT to intiate the price change. However, in the case that they cannot find the game, they will either choose to not drop the price further or process the price change anyway, figuring that the game is somewhere in the store.

When posting deals, please include game, system, price, city, state and DCPI #

Also, a great help when you're posting deals you've found is to check this post and see if your item's DPCI number is already listed. DPCI stands for Department, Class, Item-- it's Target's version of a SKU. These are a nine digit number that can always be found on your receipt and also on the red clearance tags on the item itself. DPCI numbers are handy to have when you want to check the item's price-- just go over to your scanner and punch in the numbers, if your scanners have keypads. Also, you can give these numbers to team members so they can check the availability of the item easily with their PDA scanners. Please post any DPCI numbers that are not already in the OP-- thanks! This is especially important since some of the DPCI numbers on Target.com start with 241, meaning they cannot be used in-store, and also meaning that I can't get all of the numbers from Target.com.

Here is a fairly easy way to check your local Target's pricing-- often price tags will not be correct. Thanks to BigDirty for this:
1) Go to Half.com or a similar site. Search for the game to locate its UPC code number. It's in the gray box underneath the box art graphic.
2) Go to UPC Database ,Milk.com , or UPC Data and enter the code so you can print out the UPC. Go to Target and use the price scanners to scan your printouts.

Thanks to Mephitical for this tool for locating clearance titles, which is located here. Go to Amazon or Target to find the item's ASIN. When you find it, replace "B000O3IS48" in the URL with your item's ASIN. This will take you to a page asking you for your zip code. Type in your zip code and click enter-- this will display a list of local stores and whether or not they have your item in stock. YMMV on it working properly.

The lowest known price will be posted. The item could be higher or lower at your store. Numbers in purple are DPCI numbers, which can be used to check the prices of items on newer scanners.

There have been some confirmed reports of La Whoreda, the female counterpart to El Hoardo. She is obviously more rare in the Target environment since she usually focuses her energy to her Avon business, but caution should still be exercised.

I just saw 6 Starcraft II collector's edition on clearance for $79.98 over at the Eastern Hills, ny store. It appears to be a deal, but I'm waiting on them.

I always keep hope that at my store they'll put some out that they had in the back. Every now and then I see games pop up that I know had to have been collecting dust in the back. I still haven't bought SCII because I've been waiting for it to go on sale (and missed it when it went on sale at Kmart for $39) but if I see a CE for $60 or under it's mine. Just refuse to pay full price for it since they're doing the 3 full releases thing for each campaign.

I don't follow this thread so hadn't seen this posted. But I just got back from my Target and they had two of these. These were selling for tons of money on eBay before Christmas. Still worth a significant amount.

I managed to pick up a copy myself and a friend for PS3 for $35 before christmas. If your gonna get it might want to see if it can last until that drop(I bet the wii version will drop that low as well).
 
Nothing for video games at my Target, but I did score $70 worth of fishing lures for $18 clearanced! :)

There were plenty of Justin Barf Beiber ones for those with kids obsessed with him.
 
Has anyone been able to find the PSP Go cradle on clearance in So Cal recently? The only Targets around me that carry this have it for full price.

My area hasn't even completely gone to $19.98 on trauma team yet. One store still has it for $27.98. Even Naughty Bear is like $25 still.

The RC car is sweet, and the map code is/was worth $50-60 on feeBay. If you can get it for the right price, definitely jump on it. $60 (I paid 61.50 new on Amazon- it was a fluke on their part) is the right price IMO.
 
Why the hell are rockband 2 bundles going for so much?

Anyway, saw a game I've never seen before: Pacific Liberator. Looks like some wii shovelware but new to clearance at 13.98.
 
Anyone in the Denver, CO area recently seen Vanquish for PS3? The stores I've been to only have ds and psp crap with Bayonetta at a ridiculously high price :(

It's been on clearance for months, just YMMV on finding it. You were apparently pretty lucky though as not many Targets still carry these -- most have sold through or clearanced them all out already (if not sent them to salvage).

i have gotten a few games at goodwill after target dumped them off, got a bunch of GH titles and a few others for ps3/wii. They seem to have an abundance of 360 titles that no one ever buys
 
Target at Short Pump in Richmond va has a ton of the Starcraft C/E on clearance. I lucked up and found one miss tagged for $5.98, however manager squashed the deal saying he couldn't allow the sale due to the high difference in price. I complained and the took an extra 20% off. Brought the total to $55 and some change.

Yeah, I found that generally all the Richmond Targets are pretty flexible. They don't want to be taken advantage of, but they will also work with you if there is a gray area.

A few years back I scored a couple of Pokemon Diamond/Pearl stylus for free when one of the stores dug up a box of the promo items out of the backroom. They wouldn't ring up with the price, so the associate just stuck 'em in a bag and gave them to me for free--I'm sure it didn't hurt I had both my kids with me, giving him their best puppy dog eyes.

Super YMMV. Worked at target for a few years and we never donated anything, none of the stores in town did.

Moved to go to school and the stores here don't do it either.

I see stuff from Target at my local Goodwill all the time. However, as far as games go, this Goodwill has their own pricing structure, and they almost always price the games higher then what the last Target clearance price was. They're kinda weird like that...if they get any type of video or computer game/software that is sealed, it gets a high price and stuck in the display under the register. if it's a used game, it's 2.99-6.99 (depending on what it is and who priced it that day) and stuck out on the shelf with the DVDs.

Speaking of Goodwill, I have been going to different Goodwill lately after hearing all the words of mouth. You won't believe what you can find there.

Just yesterday I saw Shenmue (Dreamcast), Metal Gear Solid (Black Label for PSone), We Love Katamari (Japanese Import), Halo Reach sealed….

I got the best deal of my freakin life at Good Will. It was the Tom Clancy's Endwar bundle for PS3 with the official blue tooth headset for 5 bucks.

I've found some ex-Target clearance stuff at GW before, but it's always price-jacked. It seems anything still wrapped in plastic is immediately worth at least $15-20 to them.

As far as general thrift store video game finds go though, Salvation Army is always a jackpot for me. Last year I found an NES with 4 controllers, 10 games still in their cardboard boxes (including BurgerTime, my all-time fave), an NES Satellite wireless adapter, and all the necessary cords for $20!

It was all in a Snyder's pretzels box wrapped in plastic wrap. Still had the original NES manual too, and taped inside was the original department store receipt for the whole purchase. Played that ish last night in fact \\:D/
 
Does anyone know where Target sends their unsold games if they don't use Goodwill? It would be nice to be able to pick up the unsold games at greater than 75% off.

I've never seen a single copy of the Starcraft II CE at any of the Targets I've been to. Not even at normal price.
