Previous threads:
Target clearance is YMMV, ya dig! Games may not even be on clearance at your store, or they may be higher or lower than what is on this list.

This thread is for clearance-- not for sale items. Price reductions for clearance seem to happen on Monday, although not every Monday, but could also occur any day of the week depending on your store's price change team. Price adjustments on clearance are typically not allowed, but some have succeeded or have been able to do as return and rebuy.

Target often donates its older clearance titles to Goodwill stores, so keep that in mind when you're trying to find items. BigDirty: "Further reduction is possible when a game's price ends with 8 cents. However, when it ends in 4 cents it will NOT drop anymore. If it ends in 9 cents, it's just on sale or on a non-clearance reduction." Also, note that, typically, games will drop three times-- from 30%, 50%, then to the final drop of 75% off of the original price. Some people, however, have seen further drops up to 85%.

When games are marked down, the price change team typically find the game and scan it with their PDA/LRT to intiate the price change. However, in the case that they cannot find the game, they will either choose to not drop the price further or process the price change anyway, figuring that the game is somewhere in the store.

When posting deals, please include game, system, price, city, state and DCPI #

For example:
Debbie Does Skywalker, Xbox 360, $4.98
Mesa, AZ Power Road at Superstition Springs
123-45-6789

Also, a great help when you're posting deals you've found is to check this post and see if your item's DPCI number is already listed. DPCI stands for Department, Class, Item-- it's Target's version of a SKU. These are a nine digit number that can always be found on your receipt and also on the red clearance tags on the item itself. DPCI numbers are handy to have when you want to check the item's price-- just go over to your scanner and punch in the numbers, if your scanners have keypads. Also, you can give these numbers to team members so they can check the availability of the item easily with their PDA scanners. Please post any DPCI numbers that are not already in the OP-- thanks! This is especially important since some of the DPCI numbers on Target.com start with 241, meaning they cannot be used in-store, and also meaning that I can't get all of the numbers from Target.com.

Here is a fairly easy way to check your local Target's pricing-- often price tags will not be correct. Thanks to BigDirty for this:
1) Go to Half.com or a similar site. Search for the game to locate its UPC code number. It's in the gray box underneath the box art graphic.
2) Go to UPC Database ,Milk.com , or UPC Data and enter the code so you can print out the UPC. Go to Target and use the price scanners to scan your printouts.

Thanks to Mephitical for this tool for locating clearance titles, which is located here. Go to Amazon or Target to find the item's ASIN. When you find it, replace "B000O3IS48" in the URL with your item's ASIN. This will take you to a page asking you for your zip code. Type in your zip code and click enter-- this will display a list of local stores and whether or not they have your item in stock. YMMV on it working properly.

The website for locating clearance titles by their DPCI # is here: Find In Store

Much like the ASIN location website replace the DPCI # at the end of the URL...

(HUGE PROPS TO aj slick FOR GETTING US THIS USEFUL TOOL!!!)

The lowest known price will be posted. The item could be higher or lower at your store. Numbers in purple are DPCI numbers, which can be used to check the prices of items on newer scanners.

The Legend of EL HOARDO as told by Strell:

No cankle too big and no score too small,
The one and only EL HOARDO.

He'll steal your stash - gonna take it all,
That's the one - EL HOARDO.

He's gonna run down all the aisles
and snatch up all the loot,
And he's feeling really confident
in his nipple protection suit!

Awesome sideburns and a dapper mask
He's at your local store,
Gonna clean out everything
And then go back for more!

Who's the guy in the Star Trek shades?
He's the man they call EL HOARDO.

His boots are secretly roller blades,
There he goes! EL HOARDO!

He's got a cape and it's totally sweet,
A flash in red and white,
Calls his fanny pack his utility belt,
He's ready for a discount fight!

You'd never think he could run so fast,
With a gut of giant size,
Asks all the ladies if they'd like a ride
On his Starship Enterprise!

What's that sound comin' down the lane?
It can only be EL HOARDO.

His stubby legs are gonna bring the pain,
Brace yourselves - EL HOARDO!

He packs a sword, it's a replica,
Like Zorro in disguise,
Gonna leave an H scratched on the wall,
Then he'll move those ten ton thighs!

Knows all the price drops all the time,
Has inhalers to survive,
Lives in a basement at his parents house,
At the age of thirty five!

That's the one who got your penny guide,
The stallion called EL HOARDO.

He's got his Rascal parked outside,
That Man-of-Men EL HOARDO.

EL HOOOOOOOARDOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!

"You just got...EL HOARDO'D!" __________________

There have been some confirmed reports of La Whoreda, the female counterpart to El Hoardo. She is obviously more rare in the Target environment since she usually focuses her energy to her Avon business, but caution should still be exercised.

In southwest Virginia, my Target had Bayonetta for 360 on "clearance" though it was $40. If there are any by the end of the month, they should drop down to at least $20 by then.

Picked up De Blob (Wii) for $9.98 at the Jersey City, NJ Target today. They had a 2-3 more copies left on their clearance endcap with the other games.
I couldn't force myself to get the puzzle even at $4.98, it just looked so plain of a picture for a puzzle.
I could! I bought the puzzle for $4.98 and the Mario Yahtzee for $7.49. The puzzle looks a little plain but I figure with 550 pieces it might keep the wife and I occupied for a night or so. Not sure what I'll do with the puzzle afterward... maybe just give it to Goodwill or something.

I also saw Mario Monopoly for $14.98, a good number of Mario backpacks, and some keychain plushes of Mario and Yoshi. Other than that, I saw pretty much the same as everyone else. The Shoot (PS3) and The Fight: Lights Out (PS3) for $19.98, and Bayonetta (360) for $14.98.

The only new item to report is Bejeweled: Twist (DS) for $13.98. This was at the Target in Tucson at Oracle and First Ave.

Made another trip today specifically for the Mario clearance stuff.

I've wanted a Mario monopoly set for a while now but never wanted to drop the 30-40 prices I would find. So $15 was a done deal for me.

Also found a chess set and a Yahtzee set for 20 and 7.xx respectively.

Found an empty display box fora plush Mario Coin pocket. Anyone know what that is exactly? The store only had the empty display box.

Oh and no new VG finds:cry:

Picked up the last monopoly set at my store, a yahtzee set, a puzzle, and a plushie key chain. There weren't any chess sets but my fiancé is gonna check tomorrow at the store by her work. That whole section by the seasonal has a lot of cereal and bathroom products too, was able to get a double pack of mouth wash and a nivea for men shampoo shave body wash set for I think 30% off original price.
Last week was a temp price drop, now it's a clearance.

Not sure about your area, but my stores don't have any chess sets left anymore. You might want to snag one of those while you can if you want it. Probably won't make it to 75%. Or otherwise amazon has the tin-case version of it for a little more, no tax for most.
My store had monopoly for 19.99 sign said price drop, and chess for 29.99 or something like that. Maybe next week they will clearance them unless it would be tomorrow or friday, maybe I should check again.

You should scan them.

BTW, I stopped by target again today, and a lot less plushies left today, but they still had plenty of puzzles. Must be a lot of CAGs in my area.

2 copies at the Daly City, CA, Starcraft II CE at $70 - picked up one. My Macbook Pro can't even handle it, so I guess I'll have to wait until I get a new one this summer to play it!

I also picked up 2 of the plushies, Mario and Yoshi. Not exactly sure what the hell I'm going to do with them, but at $3 each I couldn't pass them up.
Anything noteworthy for 360 in Daly City?
Not that I saw, but it had substantially less than before. The usuals are still there - Bayonetta and Smackdown vs Raw, maybe Iron Man 2. Didn't check the prices though since I already have Bayonetta and wasn't really interested in the rest.

Ok I will make another trip and scan. I should have done that I forgot to think!

edit: I went back and scanned and they were cheaper. I don't know why I didn't do it yesterday, I know to scan. I got the last chess game. I also got monopoly and Yahtzee. Thanks for the heads up on these games.

I don't know if it's been posted yet, but I just got back from the Macedonia OH Target where I saw COD Black Ops Prestige 360 for $104.98. I have a feeling no one bought one at this location since they had about six left.

I saw :360: Bayonetta for $14.98 and a few :ps3: Move titles like Mel B, The Shoot, and The Fight for $19.98 at the Parma, OH Target. Saw on :360: Black Ops Prestige edition for $128 or so.

:ps3: DJ Hero $6.24
My local Target also had DJ Hero for that same price. I thought it was some kind of mistake.

Wow, that was fast, my Target put out a ton of Mario/Yoshi backpacks, Mario Monopoly (whatever it was called), various other Mario items (Yahtzee, etc), on Monday-- went back today and all but 1 of the backpacks were gone, and pretty much everything else was cleared out.

Pretty impressive.

Also noticed the PS Move games were moving pretty fast. :/ I wouldn't mind getting The Shoot but figured it'll be $19.99 soon enough. Why can't people have patience and wait for the 75% drops?? :p not sure if the few copies left will make it.

Didn't you just answer your own question? Everyone has a different price point. If you want a game badly enough, then pick it up at 50%. And if you don't and it's gone, you have no one else to blame but yourself.

You can't expect everyone to have your own level of cheapness.

The above mostly directed at SuperJedi who keeps telling people when to buy games.
Yeah I realized that people have NO patience even if they call themselves Cheap Ass Gamers
Yes - because NO ONE knows about Target clearance except for CAGs. I never see soccer moms, ebayers, el hoardos, random people that shop at Target. etc. Looking at clearance stuff.

That is correct. In addition CAG makes up 100% of the buyers on warehouse deals too.

That's exactly why I picked up Fable III CE @ $55.xx...I'm not rich but that was a decent enough reduction for me seeing as I almost bought it at launch.

Needless to say I ended up finding 2 other copies for $19.98 and returned the $55.xx one...:hot:

It's like the discussion in the Super Mario All Stars LE thread, individual people put their own value on a game/product based on what they like and can afford...if someone (like me) wants to buy Fable III CE for $55.xx I'm gonna buy it while I can get it...

on a side note thanx for the nomination confoosius and kudos to you for your nod as CAG Villain, although I believe you are more of a folk-hero rather than villain...much like IATCG

yeah you deserve it for the quick updating. this is the best ongoing thread and target is where I get most of my games. (IATTCG's penny guide OP is great too but he's a such a dick that nominating him would be a waste!)

Just went to Target in Palm Coast, FL and checked the DCPI of Fable III Collector's Edition (207-22-0496) and it came out $10.00, which is crazy! No Target near me had it, though, unfortunately. Hopefully, one of you guys can find it.

It was probably $9.94 which would be 87.5% off of the MSRP of $79.99

My targets clearance section was completely gone, haven't been there in about a month. Did see Halo 3 legendary ed. for 360/ps3 for 126.98

Yes.

Hopefully that anulls all the smart-ass responses (of which I was close to posting, too lol)

Saw:
-Wii - Sid Meier's Pirates - $9.98 (thought about picking this up but I know nothing about the game..)
-PS3 - Get Fit with Mel B - $19.98
-PS3 - CoD: Black Ops Prestige Edition - $127.98
-360 - CoD: Black Ops Prestige Edition - $127.98
-Super Mario Yahtzee - $7.98 (got it for X-mas)
-Nintendo Monopoly - $14.98 (got it for X-mas)
-Mario backpack - $7.98 (I may actually grab one of these for the collection if they go down more)
-Yoshi backpack - $7.98 (ditto ^)

Picked up:
-Wii - Trauma Team - $19.98 (only 2 copies left so I didn't want to risk missing out on it)
-PS3 - The Fight - $19.98 (only 2 copies left)
-PS3 - The Shoot - $19.98 (a bunch of copies left, I'll keep it sealed til they're gone in case it goes cheaper)
-Mario coin pouch - $2.98
-Yoshi coin pouch - $2.98

I realize that picture is for PS3, but I thought I'd go down the street tonight and see if they had any for the Xbox or Wii at this price. I found DJ Hero 2 bundle for Wii at $60, and DJ Hero bundle for $70, and yes, I scanned them both. Why does the original cost more? Does my Target just suck? I asked the employee and he had no clue.

I think this is extremely YMMV, but here's my story.

I found a copy of :ps3: The Wheelman, which I haven't seen before on clearance. It wasn't in the system, but the sales rep with a hand-held scanner rang it up as $14.98 before tax.

What's really strange is that the clearance tag wasn't the familiar Target brand that we all know and love; it looks like
. The sales rep told me it was probably a return from WalMart or something, but I dunno.

Anyways, DPCI is 207-24-0175. I'm not putting it in red since I really doubt anyone else will find one; the game's not even showing up on the Target Website. Any thoughts about it being worth $17 after tax?

Haha, really? Must've been way before I started wising up to Target clearances!

I bought a copy yesterday for $70 because I didn't want to risk not getting it at all. I knew when I did someone would post finding it for $24.98. Thanks for being that guy. :D

That's all I see. What is the "new" style?

9-10 CEs? Holy crap. Only one store in the 10 closest to me showed one in stock.

Yeah, I've got over 10 Targets in my area and to my knowledge it never hit clearance here either. I never saw it (and hit 3-4 regularly) and I never saw it on the online inventory thing. You're very lucky to get such a solid game at that price, especially considering Blizzard's policy on pc game pricing. It might be 5 years or more before the regular edition of SCII hits $25, hell Diablo 2 is almost 10 years old and still retails at $30.

I didn't think anyone would be interested in Fallout 3 GOTY, but all 6 copies my Target had clearanced disappeared overnight when El Hoardo struck. You cannot possibly account for what people will and will not buy when it comes to clearance, so I and others will buy when the risk-to-price ratio is just right. If I want something badly enough, I will buy it and continue watching for another one to drop, so that way if the other copies don't make it, I still have it and won't kick myself later.

There are several games I'm still kicking myself for passing on while I waited for another drop, so I've learned my lesson.

To be honest, I'm surprised my Target even had Starcraft 2 CE. It wasn't put out when the game was released, and just started showing up last month quite randomly.
