Previous threads:
Target clearance is YMMV, ya dig! Games may not even be on clearance at your store, or they may be higher or lower than what is on this list.

This thread is for clearance-- not for sale items. Price reductions for clearance seem to happen on Monday, although not every Monday, but could also occur any day of the week depending on your store's price change team. Price adjustments on clearance are typically not allowed, but some have succeeded or have been able to do as return and rebuy.

Target often donates its older clearance titles to Goodwill stores, so keep that in mind when you're trying to find items. BigDirty: "Further reduction is possible when a game's price ends with 8 cents. However, when it ends in 4 cents it will NOT drop anymore. If it ends in 9 cents, it's just on sale or on a non-clearance reduction." Also, note that, typically, games will drop three times-- from 30%, 50%, then to the final drop of 75% off of the original price. Some people, however, have seen further drops up to 85%.

When games are marked down, the price change team typically find the game and scan it with their PDA/LRT to intiate the price change. However, in the case that they cannot find the game, they will either choose to not drop the price further or process the price change anyway, figuring that the game is somewhere in the store.

When posting deals, please include game, system, price, city, state and DCPI #

For example:
Debbie Does Skywalker, Xbox 360, $4.98
Mesa, AZ Power Road at Superstition Springs
123-45-6789

Also, a great help when you're posting deals you've found is to check this post and see if your item's DPCI number is already listed. DPCI stands for Department, Class, Item-- it's Target's version of a SKU. These are a nine digit number that can always be found on your receipt and also on the red clearance tags on the item itself. DPCI numbers are handy to have when you want to check the item's price-- just go over to your scanner and punch in the numbers, if your scanners have keypads. Also, you can give these numbers to team members so they can check the availability of the item easily with their PDA scanners. Please post any DPCI numbers that are not already in the OP-- thanks! This is especially important since some of the DPCI numbers on Target.com start with 241, meaning they cannot be used in-store, and also meaning that I can't get all of the numbers from Target.com.

Here is a fairly easy way to check your local Target's pricing-- often price tags will not be correct. Thanks to BigDirty for this:
1) Go to Half.com or a similar site. Search for the game to locate its UPC code number. It's in the gray box underneath the box art graphic.
2) Go to UPC Database ,Milk.com , or UPC Data and enter the code so you can print out the UPC. Go to Target and use the price scanners to scan your printouts.

Thanks to Mephitical for this tool for locating clearance titles, which is located here. Go to Amazon or Target to find the item's ASIN. When you find it, replace "B000O3IS48" in the URL with your item's ASIN. This will take you to a page asking you for your zip code. Type in your zip code and click enter-- this will display a list of local stores and whether or not they have your item in stock. YMMV on it working properly.

The website for locating clearance titles by their DPCI # is here: Find In Store

Much like the ASIN location website replace the DPCI # at the end of the URL...

(HUGE PROPS TO aj slick FOR GETTING US THIS USEFUL TOOL!!!)

The lowest known price will be posted. The item could be higher or lower at your store. Numbers in purple are DPCI numbers, which can be used to check the prices of items on newer scanners.

The Legend of EL HOARDO as told by Strell:

No cankle too big and no score too small,
The one and only EL HOARDO.

He'll steal your stash - gonna take it all,
That's the one - EL HOARDO.

He's gonna run down all the aisles
and snatch up all the loot,
And he's feeling really confident
in his nipple protection suit!

Awesome sideburns and a dapper mask
He's at your local store,
Gonna clean out everything
And then go back for more!

Who's the guy in the Star Trek shades?
He's the man they call EL HOARDO.

His boots are secretly roller blades,
There he goes! EL HOARDO!

He's got a cape and it's totally sweet,
A flash in red and white,
Calls his fanny pack his utility belt,
He's ready for a discount fight!

You'd never think he could run so fast,
With a gut of giant size,
Asks all the ladies if they'd like a ride
On his Starship Enterprise!

What's that sound comin' down the lane?
It can only be EL HOARDO.

His stubby legs are gonna bring the pain,
Brace yourselves - EL HOARDO!

He packs a sword, it's a replica,
Like Zorro in disguise,
Gonna leave an H scratched on the wall,
Then he'll move those ten ton thighs!

Knows all the price drops all the time,
Has inhalers to survive,
Lives in a basement at his parents house,
At the age of thirty five!

That's the one who got your penny guide,
The stallion called EL HOARDO.

He's got his Rascal parked outside,
That Man-of-Men EL HOARDO.

EL HOOOOOOOARDOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!

"You just got...EL HOARDO'D!" __________________

There have been some confirmed reports of La Whoreda, the female counterpart to El Hoardo. She is obviously more rare in the Target environment since she usually focuses her energy to her Avon business, but caution should still be exercised.
The item locator said that PSP deal is out of stock at my Target. :(

But, it might be worth going out there anyways just in case if it's wrong and pick one up with my $50 gift card (plus whatever extra) I was holding on for Skyward Sword when that comes out sometime this year.
Even if it is in stock, it might not be on clearance.. I went to 2 stores and they sold out at $130 before the price could drop.

Where do you find the PSPs? My Target says they're in stock but I didn't see any at the target. Only the regular PSP pack that was 130. Are they in a special section or I have to ask someone to get them out from the back or something?

FullHavok and Doodmandood I couldn't find any of these bundles but if I do I will let you know. I was stating about the 20+ copies of being anything in general on Target clearance. I was just trying to make the point that if you see something that interests you on the clearance section pick it up cause it will most likely be gone.

I got the XBOX 360 Wireless N Adapter for $39.98. There was one unit left in Addison TX.

I got it with the XBOX 360 remote ($9.98). Target in Monfort (Dallas) still had 2 units left.
Found copies of DC Universe for the PS3 for $15...not sure if I should try it out.
What location, city, state, zip code, did you find those copies of DCUO at? What time of day was it? If there is any other info you can provide it would be appreciated. Thanks.

Yes, please provide room temperature, humidity, light reading, and the color of the salesgirls hair along with a charcoal sketch.

TIA

Just missed the last PSP in Clay, NY by about 15 minutes apparently. Someone was buying the standard PSP 3000, and the employee suggested they get the clearance bundle instead.

Ill miss a good deal now and then to have awesome target sales associates like that, though.
the store was in Flushing, NY btw...
I went there yesterday at around 12 and they said that some guy at 11am came and bought the entire stock of PSPs (he said around 90), seems fishy

WHAATTTTTTTTTTTTTTTT :bomb: :bomb: :bomb: :bomb: :bomb:

are the hannah montana psp bundles clearanced yet?

I see no mention of it but a few stores around here have them buried in the case behind the 3000s, with no price tag of any sort on the shelf.

Anyone have a DCPI at the least? Can't seem to find one.

I found Dragon Age Ultimate Edition for PS3 marked for $32 for it rang up for $12+. The cashier called someone over and he said it's priced for $32 and that's how much they would charge me. I said, he would have to sell it for whatever it rings up for and he said I was right. Got it for $12+

How gullible did he think you were? (what that employee wanted you to say): "Okay." (he gladly overrides clearance price to $32) :wall:

So has anyone actually scored a PSP at that price? I'm tempted to go out hunting but with gas over $4 a gallon now, don't really want to if all I'm going to come back with is an emptier gas tank.

Target near me had the PSP LBP bundle in stock, but not clearanced. The electronics guy scanned the barcode and it still came up at 129.99. Are target clearance prices universal or is it YMMV?
are the hannah montana psp bundles clearanced yet?

Target lowered the price of all bundles to $129 after the price drop. So even if it isn't clearance it's still a decent deal.

I saw some new items today, not sure if posted already.

XBOX 360 60GB HDD starter Kit $69.XX
XBOX 360 Universal Remote $9.9X
Texas Instruments Gaming DLP PROJECTOR $89.XX
Found copies of DC Universe for the PS3 for $15...not sure if I should try it out.
Any chance you'd grab a copy for another CAG for cost plus shipping?;) The Target stores here are a pain in the ass and haven't put it on clearance yet.
Yes, please provide room temperature, humidity, light reading, and the color of the salesgirls hair along with a charcoal sketch.

TIA

Every time I've ever posted the location and price of an item that I found on clearance they were GONE within a day. That's why I still use 'my local Target' for my default answer.;)

Target near me had approx 200 PSP's. 3 people came in 2hr timespan and purchased them all. The employee even told me they purchased it to re-sell, ebay, etc...

What price was this at? If the $64.98 price, then that means BEFORE tax they just spent $13k at Target.

I don't think I've ever spent that much on anything gaming related or ever would.:whistle2:#

No luck on the PSP. The two stores that are suppose to have it, don't. They don't have any version of the PSP in the case, which was odd.

But it wouldn't matter as the scanners still ring up at 129.99
Looks like it's another East Coast thang.

Did find Samurai Warriors 3
iconwii.gif
for 6.24 and a Wiimote inductive charging bundle for 24.98

Almost bought the charge bundle (think it was a Duracell brand) to use with a DS charge accessory from Powermat. But passed since I didn't know if the two brands were compatible with each other

I don't think I have any credit card with a $10k spending limit.

The employee knew why these people were buying - straight up reselling. He even told me the day and time span these people show up every week to buy out all the clearance items. He even told me that he knows exactly what will be hoarded next. I mean if you buy 3-5 of an item ok, but geez..200..is ridiculous.

Target really needs to limit clearance sale items to like 2 per person or something. Even though people will obviously find ways around it at least make it harder for them.

Why would they do this? It's much cheaper for them to sell every unit at 30% off than sell them individually at 30% 50% 75% etc.

They get a higher price for the item and move it quickly, which is the goal of clearance. Honestly I'm surprised they don't just pull all the stock and sell it en-masse to resellers as overstock when they have that many units.

I think the source of the original post about the clearanced PSP bundle is not credible. I checked a bunch of my local targets and if they had any it was months ago according to some of the workers in electronics. Their current price is @ 129.XX if they did have any, not the magical $63 or $64 dollars reported. Besides, not one person on this site has reported finding any of these one half off PSP bundles. Sounds fishy to me. Agree or disagree?

I agree. I went to one that had "Limited Availability". None there but I did type in the DCPI and it came up 129.99.

Do you really believe that story? Who's leg do you think the store employee was pulling with that nonsense? 200 pieces? Come on!!!

Did you go to a Target in San Jose, California? There are some people who are selling multiple quantities of the item on Ebay and their location is listed as San Jose. So maybe there is some truth to what the employee told you but he may have inflated the quantity they had.

Not mine. Don't know what he would gain from "pulling my leg." The employee told me a lot of other things but I have refrained to post.

Maybe I was over-reacting and hasty to judge but you can see how the story seems a bit far fetched on its surface. Especially since no one on this forum has reported scoring one. Perhaps certain Targets are used to sell large quantity lots based on their sales volume? That might explain why your store had so many and other stores have none.

I can't imagine a store would have 200 PSPs, but then again, I wouldn't have believed a store had that many DSi XLs until I saw the picture. No matter, the bundles are still at $129.99 around me.

I looked up the DSi XL deal and there was one store nearby that supposedly had both those and the PSP deal. I ran out there, and unfortunately they had neither of those deals left, but if you're looking for Animal Crossing City Folk for the Wii, the Target near Miller Park in Milwaukee had at least 100 copies of it for $12.48.

Almost nothing else.

If anyone would like to be really awesome, if there is a DSi XL deal near you and you want to pass one on to someone who would really appreciate it, PM me. I've been hoping the 3DS would cause a DSi XL price drop, and I hate buying portables used... would really like to upgrade the original DS that I have that is literally falling apart...

... i dunno that sounds like BS to me. I would think that stores would have some rules in place to prevent stuff like that from happening. I wont even comment on the '200 psp' part. Why the hell would a target have that many? Even electronic stores wouldn't carry that many in stock

my friends and i bought a few of the psps.. there were about 25 of them locked up in a case... and there was only one target near san jose that seemed to have them in stock. i actually was on a hunt for a GPS that night but luckily managed to bump into the huge stock of PSPs. no luck on the GPS though

Eh, just my opinion is all. They should either ship them off to a site like Overstock.com or limit the in-store purchases. Or really, maybe a combo of both, keep a reasonable amount in-store and ship the rest off someplace.

Are you serious? Did you buy a lot in order to resell? I would love to buy one off you for a reasonable price PM me

I love the request for a "reasonable" price. Priceless. :O
