Welcome to the Steam Deal Thread V6! You can find link to past threads at the bottom of this post. Read post #2 of this thread for Steam FAQs and more.

With the V6 Thread, we're trying a slight formatting change. We used to list every possible Steam deal in the OP, but they change too frequently for anyone to keep up with (even in the Wiki format). So now, we'll leave regular minor sales out of the OP. This post will keep track of major sales (Winter sale, etc.), Steam deals available through other sellers (like Amazon), Preorder deals, and Group Buys.

I would still greatly appreciate help from you folks at home in keeping this smaller-scale OP up-to-date. This is a Wiki post so anyone can contribute. Wiki instructions:
Thanks for your help! If you notice a sale has ended, feel free to delete its line from the sale list. Of course, if you see something does need to be added, then kindly add it to the list.

Make sure your changes match the thread's format! For example, every game that's on sale is part of an unordered list. When adding a game to the list, copy an existing line and update the link, title, and prices. That way, the format stays correct. Do not list percentages off! We list the original price and the sale price here. If you have any suggestions for major changes to the post/thread, PM me (EastX) about them.

Several multiplayer Steam games are available in 2-packs or 4-packs. These packs offer a discount over buying multiple copies of a game separately. We also maintain group buy trade threads for several games, so please use those threads if you're interested in setting up a group buy.


Free Stuff - List needs updating with F2P games!
There are several free games and mods on Steam. These are a few choice ones; you can find a full list here. Note that free games are not permanently attached to your Steam account like actual purchases would be. You'll need to manually download a game again from the website if you uninstall it.

If you are interested in joining the Steam CAG Community or participating in a trade or group buy with fellow Cheap Ass Gamers, please do so in the dedicated threads and not in the deal discussion thread. In the dedicated threads you will find CAGers with the same specialized interest who will be much quicker (and happier) to respond than in the Deals thread.

What is a CD key and where can I find it?

The CD Key is a serial number with a combination of 13, 18, or 25 letters and numbers - it can be found on a sticker inside your game's case or printed on the game's quick reference card. The CD Key acts as your proof of purchase for the game - Steam Support may ask for it if you need to establish your ownership of an account. It is recommended that you keep your CD Key in a safe place to ensure the security of your account.

We have a naughty Nancy downrating the thread and adding a rude tag to it... Oddly, the Edit History doesn't seem to be working (much like the thread views count), so I can't call the jerk out as he deserves.

I think the old thread had 'pretentious CAGs' and such for months and months.

That Steam score site is awesome, Steam needs something like this. Without any sort of ranking or score level like the consoles have, I don't find Steam achievements worthwhile and just ignore them completely. Not that console trophies are worthwhile, but at least there is some level of motivation to go after them, for me.

Deathspanks 1&2 (these have yet to hit 75% off in two years)
Rune Classic
Alpha Protocol (Should have grabbed this years ago when they had a $2 sale)
Dead Rising 2 OTR

Stuff that probably won't hit discounts I want:

Amalur (won't go on sale)
Fallen Enchantress
Chivalry

Stuff I'll probably get from Amazon for the right price:

XCom
Dark Souls
Defenders of Ardania
Warlock DLC
Hell Yeah

Stuff I might get from Amazon but will probably wait it out even longer:

Sleeping Dogs
Darksiders 2
Max Payne 3

There's about a dozen or so indie games I'm interested but I'll just wait on bundles.

A rude tag isn't right, now a vulgar tag would be spot on, especially once the sale gets in full swing.

Well I suppose it's good that we won't have all the seasonal CAGs soiling the venerable V5 thread. I'd welcome the new one, but I know that in a few days it's going to be flooded with noobs.

Most of the store goes on sale so if you are relatively new to Steam then there are a lot of deals to be had.

[/SPOILER]However if you are old and crusty and have been around the virtual block hundreds of times and have nearly every game you could possibly want, and a bunch more that you never wanted in the first place, then you just sit around and complain about how terrible the sale is, that there are just no good deals on sale and that it just isn't like the good old days, where old in this case means a year or so ago.

I went nuts during the Steam/Amazon BF sales . . . and I am actually playing games!
 
I have most of what I care about, I'm just going to be looking for deals that are too good to pass up. Deadlight is about the only specific title I'd like, and maybe Amazing Spider-Man if it's real cheap. Skyrim DLC as well, for the right price.

So i'm finally starting to catch up and to not have to deal with the credit card ordreal i'm buying $100 in Steam cards can't wait! :)

Yeah, I'm sitting here going 'Okay what the hell do I not have yet?' I mean I have the entire friggin Nancy Drew collection and Flora's Fruit Farm. I'm not sure how much more obscure or niche I could get on Steam.

Hmm, come to think of it I do want that Valusoft Simulation pack if it goes on a good sale because it has two of the 18 Wheels of Steel games which I don't have yet. It's also currently the only way to get Prison Tycoon 4: Supermax, which sounds like it should be a gay porn.

Oh and there's some redneck huntin' games in it too.

Yes but that one does not redeem on Steam, only Origin.

The only way to get it on Steam is to buy it on Steam but now it will likely never go on sale again.

What site? & I feel the same when I had XBL

Really looking for Chivalry to go on sale, just because it still seems popular and that's important for a MP only game. Just seems like a good time and most PC games have been a lackluster experience so far. followed by Dark Souls, Borderlands, GTA Series/Bully, and possibly anything else on my wishlist.
 
Just for the record, I enjoyed (as much as one could) all the previous CoD campaigns up to this point and Blops 2 was a boring crapfest even by MY standards.

It's now loading but only seeing 1/3 of my games.
 
You have to keep reloading. And each time it will process like 10-15 games then stop. Then refresh. Then it will keep counting down until you are done.

I've done that about 10-15 times. It will say adding one or seven or thirteen but my total stays the same. :cry:
