I had completely forgotten about that! I was on CAG at the time and pulled the trigger, fully expecting that it would be cancelled. Two days later, it shows up on my doorstep.

I missed both of those and those were the two Nintendo releases I was looking forward to the most in recent memory. learned my lesson with this one

I overpaid about $20 on Majora's Mask LE, but got Fates SE at retail at least. Missed on this though and would totally trade the MM one for this :'(

gamestop had a limit of 10 for 2+ hours

also amazon was 3 per customer.

People keep saying this is one-per-customer. Did I miss some sort of announcement from Nintendo on this or are we simply assuming that the stores limited it to one per order (as they often do)?

 
If you buy the SE from U.S. and them LE from UK (if that's available), then you can get all the items in the Master Edition from U.S.  Just won't have the pretty black box.

Six minutes is being generous. It was realistically more like 2-3 from the time I noticed the post on CAG to the OOS.

Best Buy definitely had a limit (I tried). It's a retailer choice, not Nintendo.
 
Why the hell are people pre-ordering more than one? Nintendo doesn't even have to create a shortage, you guys do it to yourselves. Once you have an Amazon preorder, just stop.

I've had a CE come crushed before. No way I'm taking that chance. There is also precedent of orders being randomly cancelled. fuck that, I'm covering my bases.

I wouldn't change the address on orders from BB, last time I did that with the Majoras Mask 3DS it changed to cancelled 20 mins later and didn't get one from them.

Agreed - Amazon did that with my CE for Bravely Default. Some genius thought it was a good idea to put a cardboard outer boxed item in a bubble mailer. At least Amazon comped me 100% for the order, since it was no longer available for replacement.

 
I really didn't think this would sell out so fast, so even though I could have bought it for shipping at bestbuy I waited for the damn "ship to store" glitch. Serves me right, I guess.

Extra suckage: those of us in the Nintendo NY vicinity can't even count on trying to line up for it there since it's a launch title...*sigh*

Add me to the count of people who just wanted the ME and not the Switch yet (until Splatoon 2 or a possible LE bundle is announced).

I picked the wrong time to take a work call - lol. I wanted to get best buy so I could do store pickup so the box doesn't get damaged in shipping (I suspect it's flimsy), but I'll just keep my Amazon order now.

 
I tried to order special edition from best buy but my orders got canceled.  Tried different CCs, visa checkout, different accounts.  all orders canceled

Been staring at this thread for 2 hours and ended up having to take a call as well. Very upset but at the same time I really didn't need this
 
Man, if you guys think getting a silly CE like this was hard with six whole minutes, don't ever try to get a Mondo print. Those are usually limited to 350 or less and sell out in seconds. The last print I bought from them was when The Last of Us went up for sale and sold out instantly. That $45 print goes for $250-400 last I checked on eBay. ;)

If you pre-ordered both zelda me and the switch console from bb, will they ship them separately or together? The switch box might crush the zelda box if together

Most likely separately. I buy a lot from best buy and I've never gotten orders combined. Sometimes they even split up orders. I've ordered multiple preorders of CE games before and they have never shipped together. But I'm not saying 100% it won't. They just never have in my experience with Best Buy

 
Im happy with the special edition. I just want that carrying case. Hehe! Dont know when im buying the console but i bought a game!

In fairness, Mondo announces the drop date and time at least a day before, so it's not a surprise that they get instant sell-outs. Here, word barely had time to spread and it still sold out super quick at Best Buy and Amazon.

Eh the usual "AAHHH I didnt get one so Im going to post a pic of something saying ebay and slick deals on as I blame scalpers for not getting something I wanted because everyone else wants it" isnt really funny anymore. It was at first but every time something sells out everyone trots out the same old tired horse so they can beat it to death.

Ebay/slick deals ruins everything!

Nintendo is limiting stock to artificially drive up demand!

Scalpers kept me from getting the one thing that was going to cure my dying grandmothers cancer!

Gamestop stores are holding back pre orders from customer in a conspiracy!

All that shit is played out.

Who really cares? Its just some plastic. I mean yes I really really wanted one and I missed out on getting one at all 3 retailers but it doesnt bother me. I can still play the game and in the end thats all that matters. Sure the extra stuff would have been very cool but ultimately I bought it so I can play the game.
