Having the option to use disposable AAs, rechargeable AAs, and an official rechargeable battery is way better in the long run than only having a built in battery.
I don't think Steam games have ever required ESRB ratings, if that's what you're referring to. Submitting stuff to the ESRB is voluntary on the part of the publisher (and it costs money), console companies just make it mandatory, or something.
"Complete" mostly advertises itself as cosmetic, but it makes significant changes to AI and gun mechanics that not only make combat easier but also makes it feel more generic. It's not a good way to experience the game for the first time.
How is it not a remaster? It looks way better than the old game.
edit; I guess more relevant
Makes sense since it definitely didn't have dynamic lighting and stuff before.
There are multiple display modes; the other one only shows the one screen with the special attacks listed in the corner. Most of the screenshots in the store page show that view.
You don't need to explain to anyone here that they are trying to make money. There are plenty of things I don't "expect" EA or Ubisoft to do either, and it's not because they're my friends, honest.
This really sucks. I didn't expect that Valve, of all companies, would have no problem destroying modding communities. I'd say "hopefully other companies don't follow in Bethesda's footsteps" but it's literally free money for them, so of course they will.
