The reasoning for that is:
1)When a game is spined on the wall the customer will see the price.
2)The sticker won't peel off as they do if they are on the actual case spine.
I was fairly amused when somebody here suggested that they can track how much they sold it for and that's why they keep...

48 hours is the policy if you need more just tell them and you'll be fine as long as it's reasonable.
Wow, this is getting out of hand, so many people saying so many wrong things (every single thing i read on this thread is wrong).
The Refurb fee is based on the value of the the item traded since the company is taking a risk that the disc may not be fixable.
That's why you see the different...
To clarify 2 issues:
1)If you trade in any game that has a higher credit than $20 (or a little less if you have an EDGE card), you will get the game cheaper, meaning it won't stay at $20, it will get you the real credit you would have gotten.
2)the extra %20 for trading in towards Mario Kart...

Picked up Drakengard 2 and Marc Ecko's Getting Up LE (PS2) for $10 each, there were tons of Gran Turismo 4 and Guilty Gear: Dust Strikers for the same price.
There is a test in the North East Market with 50 Cents Missing Case Fee.
Missing anything but the case can not result in any fees.
