I agree totally. I admit the french novel and the original movie are VERY dear to my heart. The first apes movie is pitch perfect high concept sci fi. At this point the prequel has rebooted to the point that the source material is no longer recognizable. Star Trek by Abrams was in character...
I got the dualpack thrown in with the Uncharted 3 $299 bundle @BB with a $50 gift card... and I must admit each game in the series improves upon the previous installment by leaps. Only 1/2way through 3 but I don't advise anyone to skip these games. Especially with new hardware looming. The...
I'm a little indie in my tastes, but I've been digging on Loose Ends from 12 gauge, King City, and Strange Case of Luther Strode. Oh and can't forget Blue Estate. Men in tights don't move me.
Try watching Vanishing Point. The original 70s version. Or El Topo for that matter. Hell any Sergio Leone western or Steve McQueen movie from back in the day was very sparse on the dialogue. Drive is my movie of the year.
Mission Impossible-Ghost Protocol was very decent. Non stop action w/o...
Attack the Block. My 3rd fave released this year after #1 Drive and #2 Hanna. The lead deviant from Attack the Block acts/looks like Denzel Washington minus 30 years. Bright future for this kid.
My Shadows of the Damned (360) showed up today. Disc looks like a steaming pile. Quite frankly, I'm anxious about even putting in my system. Looks like it has sunburn.
I'm all about some Infinite Kung Fu and Loose Ends at the moment. I've tried to get back into the typical hero in tights, but that's not going so well. Watching the big 2 from the sideline right now. Looking forward to The Strange Talent of Luther Strode and the fresh start of Haunt coming from...
This movie is one of my favorites. Makes me sad his Dune never got made. Also sad Jodorowsky didnt get proper credit for the Fifth Element. He and Moebius are a great team and their INCAL comics are almost wholly the Fifth Element.
Any fan of Suda 51 should check out El Topo, I've heard him...
HOBO WITH A SHOTGUN- 8/10 all kinds of EPIC. The score alone was worth it. Silly gore, but I really dug the gritty 70s/80s Deathwish with a hobo feel. The "bad" Santa got what was coming to him...
Xmen 1st class- it was aight. 6/10 special effects were cheese-ola. Magneto and Xavier were great...
Hate 2 hear this. Her voice was unique. I was eagerly expecting new songs. Maybe she has a few demo tracks that Ronson or Remi can push out. As good as the first 2 discs were she could have been a true beast with the right treatment. We'll never know. My condolences.
There was a pt when I hit the web hard for unbiased reviews... those days are long since passed. This is evn more reason to see what I want and form my own humble opinion...
The first Transformers movie was my best of three, but I must admit Dark of the Moon was close to edging it out. Dark of the Moon had a VERY abrupt ending, but I think it was final enough that they stop there and let everyone breathe for a few years. My nitpicks with the movie are bad historical...
12 Monkeys and Darko I'll give you. To me it was a little deeper than crazy. Its more like the physical and literal affects of torment, self-loathing and guilt. Was it even about who did it? To me the reveal wasn't a gimmick like Shutter Island or a M Knight flick because it wasn't dangling...
The Machinist was cliche? Hmmm. Name another film similar.
Ironclad- good for gore, thats about it
Happythankyoumoreplease- nice warm fuzzy, thats about it
