2008-09 NHL Thread - Stanley Cup Finals begin May 30!!!

Wow. I missed that. That looked just like the Zednik incident. Surprised he kept his cool but I guess since nothing was gushing he knew he was safe.

David Krejci, torn labrum in hip, 4 to 6 months.
Phil Kessel, torn rotator cuff and labrum, 4 to 6 months.
Mark Recchi, kidney stones and broken ribs. Had surgery 3 hours before game 7 and played.
Chuck Kobasew, broken ribs.
Andrew Ference, torn groin, hernia, bruised pelvis.
Matt Hunwick, removed spleen.

I really wish I could watch Ken Daniels and Mickey Redmond do the Wings games. They are the best duo in NHL Broadcasting.

Nah. Rick Jeanaret from Buffalo is my favorite. He's known for "Pat Lalalalalafontaine" gave Hasek the nickname "The Dominator" (I might be wrong on this but I'm pretty sure it was him), "may day", and he has that voice.

Really good game tonight. Samuelsson made up for that lazy clear earlier in the game by burying the winner in OT.
well at this point im hoping for a pens/wings rematch with the pens coming out on top just so its a slap in the face to hossa
Hah, I mentioned this the other day, prefaced by "Hey, you know what would be ironically hilarious?"

But, yeah, I'd say it's Detroit's to lose.

Heading out the door to go to the Pens/Canes game, I have a funny feeling Ward is going to stand on his head and steal this one for the Canes.

I'm glad you were wrong tonight AJ... :)

fuck that. Game misconduct for Kronwall?! That was a huge fucking hit, but I'm not sure how he got a major. Also, every single player on the ice at the time showed very little regard for the the further saftey of Havlat. He could have taken several skate blades to the face, head or wrist as he lay on the ice.
I would have understood 2 minutes for interference, but 5 & and a game is plain garbage.
I still don't understand the interference call. I know Havlat wasn't in possession, but I thought the puck touched his skate.

fuck. That was a nice deflection by Pahlsson.

Besides being shorthanded for basically the 1st half the game the Wings look uninspired. Looks like they've let off the gas after going up 2 games to 0.

Indeed. Getting closer now, though.

Man, I love that Bridgestone tire commercial with the space dudes racing around on the planet and dancing to House of Pain.

Hellz yeah! 3-2 now.

Make it 3-3. Sweeeeeet!!!

I want to cheer and yell so badly, but I scared that I'd wake up my son.

Next Wings goal, and Khabi gets yanked. N/m, Huet's already in at the start of the 3rd.

He's a hell of a talent. Just needs to learn the defensive game a bit better before he sees lots of minutes with this team.

Yeah he is done.

Well the Wings lost a game they pretty only played half of against a team in a must win situation. Oh well that's the way it goes sometimes.

I'm sure Datsyuk will be back Sunday. This was the game to sit him if he needed it. Kronwall will also be well rested.

5 min interference... when was the last time that was called?
The game was so messed up with one team dominating a period (Blackhawks played the first one with a full time power play it seemed) and then a quick overtime. Bah we will rebound in game 4.
Also what the hell was "Ericsson passes the puck to nobody in particular" ?

Canes teh worthless...

Anyway... so... What's the Hawk's goal for next season? GET A DAMN GOALIE...

I like the commentators on CBC, they are the LEAST irritating.

Well the Wings played without two of the best players in the World today and won an important game. Hopefully Lidstrom who has only missed 30 something games in 16+ seasons and Datsyuk can get back into the lineup asap. The Hawks lost all control today and imploded. Really nice to see Marion Hossa get on track. Filppula had an outstanding game as well.

Also please leave Martin Havlat out of the next game. The guy took another monster hit today. This time from Brad Stuart. Don't risk a guys career for a few minutes here and there. Its just dumb.

Is Marty injured though? Was he 100% healthy in game 4? If he's fit I would play him. Anyway this game was pretty dull in the 3rd with the only highlights being Hawks getting pissed and leaving early every 5 minutes or so.
