CAG Achievement/Gamerscore Group - EA & 2K strike again - FIFA 10 & NBA 2K11

Picked up a copy of Live 07 today, is anyone willing to knock out the online achievements sometime this weekend ?

Bear in mind that for the 1000 people thing you have to be in a Lobby NOT actually playing a game.

Speaking of games that will lose achievements after the shutdown , anyone looking to get the measly 2 from NBA Homecourt? I'd forgotten that that game had 2 online chevos and I'd like to get them before I lose the chance. Should only take about 30-1 hour (from what I hear).

Actually the folks at x360a.org have pretty reliable information that that method probably does not work.

Good to see everyone picking up a copy to get in on this. Please read this thread:

NBA Live 07 Instructions

It has detailed instructions along with screen shots of what you need to do to get into a lobby so you count as being online for the achievement. Also I would advise you stay near your system when you do this as I tend to get kicked off the EA servers every so often and have to manually reconnect. Last thing you want to have happen is to log on in the morning, leave your system on while you do other things and then come back to find out you were logged off the servers and didn't get the achievement.

Also, please plan to stay on for at least an hour or more. The thing that kills these things is people log in, get an achievement then immediately bolt, leaving everyone else hanging. The nice thing about NBA Live 07 is that when you go to the lobbies it tells you how many people online so if you get on and we are short people, please just get into a lobby and wait, we will have enough, but gamers can tend to be tardy! ;)

Sounds good! Looks like both x360a.org and trueachievements.com have the info posted on their front pages. They even had some of the xbox folks tweeting information about the event on twitter.

X360a.org has updated their thread as well with some new info on the lobbies they are setting up so it might be good to check it out again. It appears alot of the moderators on that site are "all in" to get people out so we can all get the achievement and that is good news for all of us. They are offering a site badge for participating for the full hour. Also they are sponsoring a prize drawing for everyone who shows up and stays the entire hour. If you were part of the last successful 1000 Online attempt and participate in this one they are having a special prize drawing for those people as well. Here is the direct link to the thread

I'm sure the people at X360a.org and TA.com tried to get them to run something, probably unsuccessful though. The big news sites probably don't give a fuck about this type of thing. Possibly a Kotaku or one of the less corporate sites would run something, but it is probably too late for that now.

This is something the achievement whoring community is doing on their own.

Actually x360a.org had the last successful run at this a while back. TA.com tried one last year and it got 600-700 people, but x360a.org had limited involvement in that one. The logic is if x360a and TA both put the full court press (yea horrible pun, I know) on they should be able to make up the difference. Especially with x360a getting a significant amount of people who already got the achievement in the last run involved. Since they are offering site badges and including people in prize drawings for participating they should be able to get 1000 tomorrow. At this point since x360a and TA are pseudo competitors it is a big deal for x360a if they prove them can deliver on this achievement when TA could not. I guess we will see shortly!

Once again I will remind everyone that this is Sunday January 31st at 1pm EST. You still have plenty of time to run out and pick up a copy at GS/EB! Be there!
 
 
Was just in one of the lobbies with one of the x360a mods and he said that kotaku had a post about it. IGN had a blog entry and that the xbox.com team has been very helpful. So that is good to hear.

There are currently 500 people online and we still have almost 2 hours until the official event start time!

Probably a good idea to get your copies and hop in a lobby!
 
Wow. I figured this would be a slamdunk. Pun intended. I'm staying in the lobby for awhile, but don't have time to play right now. I still need the other online achievements for this and about thirty mre wins in Facebreaker if anyone wants to play later this afternoon or this evening/tonite.

If you didn't get it within 30 mins of the event starting I think you're out of luck. I got on at 11:50 CST and by 12:30 there were a little over 800. When I finally quit the lobbies around 2:00 there were around 250 people online. So it seemed most got on got the achievement and said fuck the community. Hope all of who still need it get it before the game is taken down off the servers.
 
Yup - I logged in at 11:50 CST as well, instantly got it - left it in the lobby for a few hours, but when I looked later it was down to like 850...

Will be on later tonight (SpaceboyScott) for the other online achievements, if someone is interested in 'challenging'/'being challenged'. (Already did the co-op one, but then again could do it again to help anyone else's efforts).
 
DAMN, just got E74. I had a feeling it was going to happen. Going to have to steal the roommates' 360.

Well I signed in at 12:05 central and got the achievement, then spent the next 4 hours trying to get the other online achievements (no one would accept invites) finally got them so I feel I did my part.
 
I was there for two hours.

And I saw reddjoey (in bplayak's lobby), and I was like, "I know this guy from somewhere..." and I just now realized it was CAG :p
 
I'm so glad this all worked out and got this game squared away since I was very discouraged after the last lackluster showing. I showed up an hour early and I got the achievement at that point already but I just went ahead and left my system on for a few more hours for others.

Another interesting thing is that I had an old Silver account on my system that I just decided to log in on a 2nd controller and got the 100GS for it too! I didn't even have to use a 48hr XBL trial code or anything because I guess having my main account logged into gold it just piggy backed on top of it.
 
I ended up burning a 48-hour Gold trial code (I have like 10 of them) on the CoD account to get the online co-op achievement before I realized I could just go into the auto search for co-op games to get the achievement.

I kept thinking the name was familiar and realized that I think I remember seeing that name on CAG. Ended up switching to Facebreaker and finishing it off. I still need to finish 07 so if anyone wants to play I'll be on somewhere around 10pm est.

Glad to see some other CAG's out there. I'm stuck sharing an Xbox for the next month till mine gets back (which sucks).

It's tougher than I thought working out everyone's schedules to get four people to play at the same time :p I'm on Wed-Sat nights, usually from 9pm EST till about 2am. I've been playing with various groups of people, so if you see me on and want to boost, shoot me a message and I'll try to get some other people to join.

I heard that 1 vs. 100 is ending this weekend, so anyone who still has to finish up their 200 GS on it, better get to steppin'.

I have The Darkness too but haven't even opened the game up yet. I saw it was online heavy, so I'm down to boost too.

No one is sure if this season's achievements will carry over to the next season, so there may still be time for those incompletionists later on.
Also, the last Live game was last night (no more Showboating Specialist achievement), so there's only Extended Play until 2/14/2010 10:00 PM PST.
 
If the 1 vs. 100 achievements are just one set for all seasons, I plan on actually playing it.

I'd like to add myself to Crackdown and RE5 DLC for boosting.
