I'd replace that rack with something a little nicer, you can afford the 3 newest consoles, you can def. afford a decent looking rack for your eqipiment, they can be had for under 100, seen some nice ones at WalMart
Flooring is nice, the tv seems a little too high up though
Reminds me I need to one day put my pics up here
When your in here playing the TV doesnt seem to high. When I had this mounted in the bedroom it seemed a little low to me so I moved it up two inches. I put the center bold for the mount at exactly 61". For me thats perfect; so far atleast.
The flooring was a bit@h I am no carpenter and it took 10 hours to do.
I cant believe everyone is on me about the shelves for the systems. hehe
I am going to get something better (I have no clue what) but this was used just to have something, I just have not found anything better. I am no carpenter so building something into the wall is out.
musicnoteless Have your consoles a little bit more separated. This is not only to make the setup look better, but also to keep each system well ventilated, especially for the PS3. If anything, your PS3 should be on top. Nice setup tho.
Thanks.
Having the PS3 on the bottom and the 360 on the top was something that just happened. I just wanted the two that needed to be vented the most on their own shelf.
DarkNessBear Pretty good. But very messy. Cords flying everywhere, and that shelf you keep your consoles is no good.
Get a new cabinet to hold all your consoles, and either hide your cords or make them more straight. And then it'd be all good.
I know its messy as hell now but tomorrow I get those HDMI and optical cables then its cord cleanup time.
bstan21 looks pretty good. you can go to Home Depot and get paintable wire coverings that will hide all that mess.
Good idea, I think we have something like this at work. I will check that out.
willardhaven Organize wires
Lower television
Move chair/seating closer
We are just getting things setup in here (buying stuff and such). So we are playing with where things are but I like the open feel so far. I dont mind being a little further from the set. We have a bigger LCD HDTV in the living room that was part of this setup too, but I didnt want to bring it in here, I felt this was mine so I could have the slightly smaller one (32"). But when your playing your not so far back that its a bother.
Psykodelik I agree w/the shelf. Also add a little more furniture in there. Like a coffee table, posters/paintings on the wall etc...
I went with a coffee (Mocha-ish) color for the walls, wood floor (laminate), darker for the trim, (like our local hardback in Hastings), its warm and inviting. So the futon was to keep us under budget for the room while netting us three added seating. I wanted something much better but that will come in time. We have not decided on pictures or whatever. I am thinking I would like something dark and thought provoking. hehe we so need a coffee table or just something to put your dam feet on.
Zoglog I believe there was a setup pics thread but I cannot find it either. Could you change the name of this thread to a post pics of your setup thread so that more people can join in?
Edited title of thread.
Michaellvortega When you remodeled the room you should have put audio line outlets and such so that all the wires hanging from the flat panel and the speakers didn't show, it's really easy to do. Other then that looks good, at least you own all the systems unlike some fools.
Should have talked to some of you guys first. I dont think I know what your talking about though. lol
I wish there were no wires showing but its not such a big bother to me so far.
Chacrana Hmm... okay, you've got a really good start there, but... there's some things you can do to make the room much, much better.
1) Replace that rack you have for your systems. It's ghetto and so is the mess of cables going to the TV. Get a legitimate TV stand, put the TV on there, and have the consoles inside the stand. I guarantee you that it will be much, much nicer looking.
2) Find some way to hide the audio cables. The room looks kinda bare, so I'm sure you can find some shit to throw in there and hide things.
3) Maybe get a rug for under that chair. Oh, and you could use a footrest.
1. I wish you all would show me some you thought were good but not to costly. I have not seen any I thought would work yet. But I really want the TV on the wall I love the look of it plus its up there to stay no knocking it off or over.
2. Cables I got wire tie things for. Room is a work in progress, we are avid readers so we have loads and loads of books so I know two good book cases are in order soon. Some that will be a deep cherry like the floor.
3. Rug is a must we learned that this weekend. But the footrest is the first thing I am going after, this has been our first weekend in the room and I cant believe I didnt think of it sooner.
