CAG Grifball Team's Child's Play Charity Drive! $1612.50 raised to date!
Awesome...

So when exactly is our first match? This Wed. at 9:30 PM EST?
Correct, and I want EVERYONE on the team to show up by 8:30 EST to warm up and determine players for that night's match.

~HotShotX
uhh, where is everybody? it's 8:30 cst
Practice starts in 20 minutes Ketch, at 10pm EST, 9 CST.

~HotShotX
Practice starts at 8 P.M. CST/ 9 P.M. EST tomorrow.
Change of plan, I'd like to run practice starting at 8pm EST tonight. We're going to need the practice. If you can make it, please do so, otherwise join us at 9.

That's fine. 7 P.M. CST/ 8 P.M. EST.

In a twist of irony, I'm currently stuck at the lab, so I may be a bit late. Practice goes on as scheduled, Draekon is in charge. Practice the plays, run some games, go at least until 10pm EST. I'll join you guys as soon as I can.

Just thought I'd throw out there that we can now practice two launches at once in foundry. I was messing around with the map and fixed it up to work with multiball assault, so we have one for each team. Which is obviously just a map for pacticing launches. (I also placed the goals in the corner as to not get in the way)

EDIT: Also went ahead and made a second map with eight spawns on each side so we can have some uneven games going if we get more people to help us practice now that the map is free.

I am sorry I didn't show tonight. I had a BWW emergency and a friend who needed a night out. I will be able to play next time. I know, I suck.

No big deal, we had two good scrimmages against Super Happy Sunshine and Neoseeker.

Things were going pretty well once we warmed up and got our shit together.

Remember that tomorrow are our first two games against Cannonball and SG-1. Game starts at 9:30pm EST, practice starts 8pm EST.

So I was looking over the stats from the practice scrimmages last night....yeah. Was anything evident about what was or wasn't working against the experienced guys? Or was it just that they clearly had a plan? Did they offer any pointers about how to approach the game differently? See ya this evening, probably about 7:15 CST.

To anyone else reading the thread, we had our first two games. First against Cannonball and our second a little bit after against SG-1. Here are the stats are videos if anyone wants:

Cannonball vs CAG Stats
CAG vs SG-1
Can I play? I can be a scrub to go against
If you're wanting to join the team, it's too late. Although some night we may call out for some help in getting practice in via the Halo 3 thread. Outside of that, I think it'd be fun to schedule some Grifball games where it's just CAG vs CAG.

fullmetal and Syn need to work on less betrayals across the field. That's the most evident thing I noticed. :whee:

Anyhow, Cannonball got some good beginning round rushes in. Most of which were ones where I was spawned on the outside side and stayed there thinking I could move in to the center after I killed the side guy off. Clearly it didn't work out quite well and they got a few points off of us that way. So I switched to watching the center more closely over killing the guy on the outside side so I could try and prevent that (and did a couple times I think).

Hell no they didn't. If they do it would be after our second match we have in two or three weeks. Chances are they still won't.

Apparently though Cannonball thought we were going to completely bomb out in the game being a new team and all. I think we did pretty good considering we've not been practicing very long.

So it all comes down to just one game?

Nice job splitting your first two guys.

I'd be up for some CAG v CAG grifball (although I probably prefer other modes) not really up for filling in on practices.

It's two games, but they're spaced apart by 2 to 3 weeks. Each Wednesday we will play two teams back to back.

As for the whole randoms filling in for us to practice against, we've been scrimmaging against other league Grifball teams. We'll ask in the Halo 3 thread if we're looking for CAGs to practice against ahead of time and make it clear it's specifically for that. Outside of that I expect we'll get some random games going for fun or at least matchmaking/custom games going now that the map pack is released and more people are now playing due to the new maps that aren't tied to the Grifball team practice.

looks like fun. heard of this and had no idea it was invented by the red v. blue guys. I've never checked out these Forge/Foundry mods. Are the popular ones easy to download or do you have to configure these games yourself?

I didn't have the maps when this game was in matchmaking, but it does sound like a lot of fun. So can people who play this game a lot please send me a friend request. My gamertag is in my sig.

Thanks!

Everything is already done for you...you do have to get the current game and map variants. They can be found at Grifball.com, right at the top. The download links will take you to the bungie.net file share, and all you have to do is queue it up for download and there it is the next time you pop in Halo in your 360.

Send a friends request to SynGamer at about 10 PM EST tonight if you want to check out our practice.
If you check out our team page, it's saying we played 3, won 2, lost 1...
I've reported it, also, check out the last few minutes of the Grifball podcast. We get a bit of a shoutout by Cannonball.

This is what they had to say about us :D

"We played Cheap Ass Gamers, oh man those guys scared the hell out of us, too. They scored the first goal of the game. We only beat them 7 to 2. They actually really shocked us."
"Yeah...CAG, i knew they were gonna be tough simply because these guys are gamers. They play a lot of games. That's what i told the rest of Cannonball. These guys play A LOT (emphasis by them not me) so we have to prepare for guys who are gamers at their core and will not be, you know, willing to lay down."

I guess we can add people once the season starts according to that podcast.

EDIT: I found out why we have 3 wins. Looks like someone submitted the Neoseeker vs Fishsticks game as CAG vs Fishsticks with us obviously replacing Neoseekers. Happaned apparently 19 hours ago. o_O

Can we get a scrimmage for tonight practice at 10 PM EST?

10 PM EST.

Hey guys, sorry about last night. It was lagging so bad that my kills weren't registering and i couldn't even teamkill my own teammates. Not sure what the problem was, but hopefully it's fixed now.

Made a team logo for you guys. let me know if you like it and ill send a high res version without my name next to it. Made in adobe illustrator cs2 so its a completely vector image. i think it came out pretty good. I looked at the other team logos in the griffball forum and its pretty much the coolest one, IMO.

You should definitely put fullmetals shitty Halo 3 icon on the silhouet's shoulder and put the ball in a way it looks like it's being dropped. Of course I'm kidding, but only slightly.

It looks good, but the only change I'd make would be taking out one of the hammers and replacing it with a energy sword. Though it's not really needed.

I LIKE IT. Though it does need some energy sword influence, and one less "f" in "Grifball", and if possible, can you have the Trick Runner in the image be holding the ball AND punching forward?

speaking of punching, the guy reminds me of rocky doing some training.

i played grifball today for the first time. its hard! but entertaining. good luck in your matches.

I could be down for some Grif tonight and Sunday evening. Grifball playlist...excellent (tenting fingers Burns-style).

If you see me on and are looking to play the double EXP list this weekend feel free to shoot me an invite.

I'm sure it's quite obvious, but I apologize for not being able to make practices. Trying to find a new place to live that I can afford in the next 3 weeks. So I don't think I'm going to be able to participate anytime soon. =\
