Tip to people doing Mile High Club:Grab a P90. The larger clip makes it superior to your MP5. You can pick one up right in the first room. However, DON'T go out of your way to grab it. Run along, if you see one pop up, grab it. The few seconds it takes to reload it may end up saving you from an untimely death from the extra bullets, especially in that last hallway. There's at least one P90er in each room, so try to run over the bodies for bullets, but don't go out of your way to do so.

I tried to use one for a while, but I found it easier to just reload the gun before the last hallway (in the room with the flashes)

Anyone else have problems with matchmaking in this game? For instance, my friend will invite some others and I into the lobby and then try to find a game. When he does this, it won't always bring everyone along into the game with him. We also have problems connecting to each other, even though we all have an open NAT. What gives?
I got a 360 for Christmas, and my sister got me CoD4. My friend and I usually hate FPS but this game has us both addicted to multiplayer. A couple questions though.

I am not set up with Xbox Live yet so I have been playing split screen multiplayer with my friend, but find it a little limited. I have three controllers so far, but the best we can do is only FFA. So does anyone know if you can somehow get some computer AI in the death matches and team FFA in multiplayer? Also I heard rumors about making single player (story mode) into a co-op as well thanks to a Xbox live download.

And last is the lvl, and custom soldiers an Xbox live thing only?

Thanks for any help.
No bots, no co-op. Consider XBL. $50/year is not bad. Its completely worth it. I've had it for about 3 1/2 to 4 years now, never ever second guessed any of my renewals.

No idea what a NAT is(not well versed in computer/router settings etc.) but I am having similar issues when I party with a few people. For example maybe every other game we'd look for from the party screen, most of the time we lose someone and we usually have to all quit and try again. Kind of frustrating but this kind of thing never happened to me in Halo 3 so i'm guessing it might be the netcode or the settings on how the matchmaking is setup in COD4.

Either way, I hope they fix it soon because it's getting annoying :\
GOTTTT ITTT!

It took me 6 hours of trys, but I finally got it. I found a strategy that worked for me that got me to the VIP about 1/4 of the time, from there it was just a matter of figuring out the terrorist's moves to pistol him.

I watched about 10 different strategies on YouTube, and figured out that the only way you can beat Mile High Club is to utilize your strengths. For example, one video had a guy pistol headshotting nearly everyone. I suck with the pistol, so obviously this won't work.

So here's my strategy:

- Sprint, Shoot the guy in the bathroom.
- Headshot (or at least hit) the guy on the left.
- Flashbang (#1) room where guys are running out. It should stun the entire room.
- Run past everyone, shoot ONLY if someone is blocking your path.
- You MUST shoot anyone who is standing on the right at the end of the first room.
- Sprint to the right, and run up against the bulkhead (not the chairs). Flashbang directly to your left (so don't flashbang (#2) the guys behind the wood, just turn 90 degrees to the left and flashbang yourself) - This is because the guys ahead of you are going to get sucked out of the plane, and you need to flashbang anyone who is in chase of you so your teammates can kill them.
- Reload here.
- Crouch towards the middle chairs, watch the right for that one guy, and kill the terrorists that run down the stairs. You will probably need to reload again before going up the stairs. (I usually hit the middle of the stairs around 0:25).
- Flashbang (#3) the left, all the way down the hall if possible. Shoot up those guys. Shoot through the wood to kill a few guys hiding back there.
- Reload
- Enter room (I liked to have :10 to do this part), flashbang down hallway and do a full sprint. I didn't have to kill anyone generally until the hallway turned.
- When you take the turn pray and spray, you should have a full clip to unload on these guys.
- Sprint to the end. I usually hit it with :04 or :03, depending on how quickly the two guys got out of my way.
- For the pistol part, I waited until around :02, when the hostage ducks down, and then the terrorist lifts his head up slowly. Aim high and pray.

My first 1000/1000 :)
6 hours? jeez i think i managed to get through it within an hour. i stuck with the mp5 for pretty much the whole time, and switched to my pistol when you run down the hall and you have two guys at the end. but that one youtube video is very similiar to what i did, but i went into the conference room instead of down the right side hall.

I have had a similar problem, and then looked into it. Upon some research I learned that it is not the fault of any of you, it is if the host has a Strict or Moderate NAT setting, than there server may not accept certain connections. This happened to me a lot last school year while attempting to play RB6:Vegas.

Finished the campaign on normal. Simply awesome. Graphics are mind blowing, great scenarios, decent story, lots of "holy shit!" moments.

Overall I'd give the campaign a 9.5, with the following nitpicks keeping it from getting a 10.

1. No co-op. That's just lame as I love replaying FPS games with my buddy in splitscreen or online coop. And would make perfect sense in this game since you always have squad mates with you.

2. Too many timed parts. Just a pet peeve of mine. Hate time limit levels in games.

3. Too short. Probably took me 7 hours or so (I suck so I died a lot).

But those are all minor, and the campaign kicked ass. Just a shame they dont' have co-op and that it's so short as I want more of it!

Cant' wait to get into multiplayer now.

Thanks to ppowers and Heath for saying I kick ass at the game. I'm pretty good, but Kuga is even better. Will be playing this tomorrow from like 2- 7ish PM. Anyone down? (kuga, heath, ppowers, panda, whoever?)
The only reason I am doing presitge is because I want that symbol that somewhat looks like the Umbrella Corp. (Resident Evil games) symbol >_>. But it is a PITA to lose all your weapons, so I might just stick with prestige 1.
Trust me it doesn't take long once you have a game mode you like to play which I'm debating on which symbol I like most or if I just want to go for the Yellow Cross at Level 11.

Who else thinks IW needs to go back and tweak the Martyrdom perk? It is the cheapest crap ever in Headquarters mainly, but it is still pretty overpowered in every other mode. You have a bigger blast radius with it, you can't see the grenade if you are eyeing the body from afar and trying to run past it, and you don't even have to have a frag left to take advantage of it. I think, if anything, they should require you to have at least 1 frag to take advantage of that perk. It's the only way to balance it. That way, if the opposition want's to frag the hell out of the headquarter they can sacrifice that perk for that instance. Just a thought.

I agree completely. I was fairly surprised that IW didn't make it a requirement to have an available frag grenade to be able to use Martyrdom in the first place. It's something they definitely need to tweak in the future.

Not for headquarters, it is a common strategy for people to just suicide rush by throwing frags and running into the headquarter area so their martydom kills someone.

Personally I would love to see perks tweaked for certain game modes. I mainly play headquarters and think 3 frags just makes the game retarded. Some of the headquarter spots are so exposed that at times it takes having to have the whole other team dead at once so they spawn far away to cap it. Then when they come back they all just throw their 3 frags again until ever hiding spot in the area is blownup

Fixed "Playlist Older Than Host" Error

* Player will no longer get error when entering games.

Yeah, I tried to get online the other night and I got that. They fixed it alright (eyes roll)

So, I only played through single player, and Wow. That was awesome. Even though I died a billion times, it was extremely satisfying to beat.

I personally think the frags and martyrdom are fine the way they are. I almost never get killed by martyrdom anymore, I just walk around the body. When I had my 3 frags perk I got so many kills with it, but then I did prestige and lost the perk. Since most people do prestige normally only one or two people have the perk, so it is pretty fair. I may be a bit biased though as I get about 2/5 of my kills with nades, even when I only have one.

Regular grenades don't even make as big of an explosion. I don't get killed by Martyrdom on a normal basis but when I do, it feels so cheap. Most of the time when I get killed by it, it's because I was running past a random dead body or when I play headquarters. The perk dominates in headquarters because there is no risk in using it. Get in the headquarters and if you stand right on top of it, when the opposition is killed everyone has to run away from the damn headquarter just to keep from getting killed. Add in the fact that the rest of the team is going to spam the area with frags and it becomes an exercise in frustration.

wow, my k/d went down the pipes between last night and this morning.
man, the more i screw around with classes and perks the more i get killed.

still loads of fun though.
I fucking hate downpour.
I love downpour, along with vacant and showdown. The worst maps are definatly bloc and strike.

You know that the game update hasn't hit yet, right?
No that stuppid small square map is the worst
Shipment? One of the best maps in the game.

Shipment is a ton of fun, there really aren't any horrible maps in the game, just ones that don't work well always in the playlists they're in (Wetworks, I'm looking at you.)
Trying to play online now, looks like the Live servers are down again. :(
I was able to get on this morning, but this afternoon it has been flaky.

I'm really glad I don't pay for Live. Steam has never offered such shitty service. There simply is no FREE online system that is this consistently worthless.

Played my first ever COD4 online games today really enjoyed them but you have to take it pretty seriously because it is hard for nuubs like myself

Perks like Last Stand or whatever the "Drop grenade on death" can really screw over noobs.

The only things you really have to know are:
1) Snipers are bad. If one has set up shop, don't give him a target.
2) Killing sprees are relatively easy to pull off and unlock stuff like the UAV and gunship support. UAV marks all targets on the mini-map for the entire team; so pay attention to who has UAV when. If you get it, deploy it if you don't already have one running.

I Love shipment and Wet work, Two of the bests maps in my opinion.

Ive been playing alot of sabotage lately...reminds me of Capture the flag but with Explosives!

Sneaking up on snipers and knifing or shotgunning snipers in the back is so satisfying.

Why do people snipe? It's not fun, I've tried it, you sit there for 10 minutes pointing your gun and getting easy kills.

Same as any online FPS, some people care more about their K/D ratio, rankings etc. than just having fun.
