COWABUNGA DUDES! TMNT out now on XBLA - 400pts!

Well, great news for 400 points. This game really flew under the radar....I want to see everyone bitch about no good releases on XBLA.

Is it the arcade version or a port of a console version (this was on consoles, right?)

THe SNES Turtles game was Turtles in Time, also released in the arcades, but not the same game we're talking about here. The Genesis Turtles game, "Hyperstone Heist," was completely original on the Genesis if I recall.

EDIT: Looks like the Genesis game was a reworking of some things in Turtles in Time.

Renamed Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles 2: The Arcade Game. It featured a couple of new levels, but only 2-player co-op. This game ruled my childhood with an iron fist.

Hopefully it won't have the classic TMNT theme swaped out for the new TMNT theme (isn't the new turtles canceled already?) like it did in Konami's TMNT2 that appeared on last gen's set of consoles.

Either way, at 400 points, it's a day 1, moment it drops purchase for me. Also, chances are really good it'll drop the wed before the movie debuts.

Not even close to being cancelled, and it's been on the air for 4 years now (debuted in 2003) and has had six seasons so far, which is amazing by cartoon standards in this day and age. Not counting the new Fast Forward stuff, the new TMNT series has had 117 episodes, I think it's like 140 counting the new stuff in the future (which is good in its own right).

I actually watch it and enjoy it, and I think it's the most popular cartoon in the block of cartoon's it's showed in.

Tomorrow is Worms. Next week, very well could be TMNT.
 
Holy Jesus. I was looking forward to it in like July! And at 400 points too! Seems like we're getting a good deal this March :)

I guarantee this won't be out until the week of the movie... they'll drop it Wed to hype the Friday release, that just makes sense.
 
good pricing... the 4 player online co-op is going to be the real winner for everyone... finally a social beat-em-up for people who prefer something other than UNO.

2 weeks from friday is when the movie comes out.
 
400 pts? Sign me up. Hopefully we'll get a decent TMNT theme and picture package to go along with the movie hype. I can't wait to dropkick some Mousers again.

Four player Live TMNT makes me very happy. Maybe this is a sign of more Konami games to come? Battletoads anyone?
 
I remember one of my friends had the NES arcade stick, and he would play this game with it. One day, he and my brother finally beat it, and they convinced me that at the end, you fought Shredder, and that you could rip his arms, legs, and dick off, and beat him with them. Damn youngsters and their toilet humor!

I certainly don't want to jinx it, but in the preview video the theme plays for a moment before the first level starts, and it IS the original theme. Hope it's in there in the final version.
 
Sweet! I had a feeling that it would come out this month in conjunction with the movie. Me and my room mate are pumped about getting this! I have a feeling that me and him are gonna be playing the hell outta this

That reminds me, I need to DL the demo of Alien Hominid to see how it is. I've had 800 points sitting on my account for a few months now. Was gonna use them to get SotN, but seeing that doesn't look like it'll be anytime soon, I might just use them on something else...

I suddenly realized that I had played Alien Hominid to death on my computer. I suddenly found myself not having fun, or wanting to play the game. Ended up not buying it.

Eventually I'll get on co-op and my mind will probably change.



Comment on the thread at hand: FINALLY people get some SENSE! 400 points needs to be much a more regularly used phrase. $5 is the limit on this stuff, sell it at 400 points, you will sell more. You will get more money, we will get more games, everyone will be happier.

I don't recall hearing the big cries about XBLA games like we hear(heard) for Wii VC stuff, but a lot of these games are really expensive for what you get, cleaned up graphics, achievements, and online play or no.

Not that some aren't worth it perhaps, but I was kinda surprised as I first start pecking around the marketplace. Glad to see it looks like I got in on a second birth for the system too! :)

There are really not that many classic games that are more than 400 points. Mortal Kombat and Doom are the only ones I can name.
 
Kudos to Ubi, Konami, and MS for making this a 400 point purchase.

TONS of people will be buying this.

Yea they have been removed. The video which has the first level does not have any and I do believe there is one on the wall about halfway through that stage.

Yeah you're right the article states that the 20th is the release for the retail game and that the XBLA game is out "in March". Here's hoping it's out March 21st!

Assuming it does come out the 21st, i think next week might belong to castlevania or...DOUBLE DRAGON

I think people are forgetting that double dragon was said to have a march release at 400 points.

If 2 of the next 3 weeks are castlevania and double dragon then the lineup would be

that would indeed deliver for March as M$ said they would!
