If its a plain old Block Buster...no go.

I live in MI, and the 4 GR's ive gone to have had this sale going on with 2 other sales, Buy one, Get 1 %50 off and Trade in any game, get $10 off a 39.99 or more NEW game.

Not all GR's are in on this. Of those that do, the rules vary by compentence.

sj41 - I went to a different store I never went to before and my dad had to sign something. We had just come from a different blockbuster traded in 2 ps1 games and got an xbox game and was trading that back in for 20 bucks. I guess I wont be able to do that anymore because I dont want to break any rules since they now actually say you cant do that

Also some new rules

some stores enforce it

cant trade in 2 copies of the same game

some stores now wont accept ps1 games.

Double check the paper your dad signed. I think it's just something you have to sign each time you initiate a trade at a new GameRush location, and if it's anything like mine, it doesn't have any of these new rules appended.

I'm sj41.

I just went to Game Rush today and didn't have to sign anything. Guys, I'm not sure about having to sign something since I haven't had any problems. However I haven't been trying to rip them off. I just went about an hour ago and got NFL2K5 and Mario Kart DD.

There isn't an agreement with amened rules... you just have to sign the basic form at each Gamerush you trade in things at.

These other rules can be added in by Blockbuster whenever they feel like, and for whatever arbitrary reasons they feel like, because you've already agreed they can do so by signing the paperwork.

Anybody know if the dallas area ones are on the now ps1 game policy yet? I'd call but they're not open yet. ALso, will they accept sports games for the ps2 for the 2 trade in/get one 9.99 deal?

next time a good $40 dollar game comes in i'm dumping my old madden/gameday games on them. got ESPN and it rocks

I was at a Richardson location last night trading for Onimusha 3 and the lil cardboard they had in the used game section still listed PS1 games on the Trade 2 Get 1 Used for $9.99. They'll accept sports games for the deal too, might not give ya much credit if its a few years old. They offered me a whooping $1 for my NCAA Football 2003. Haha...

They still accept the deal in Detroit.

I just traded 4 ps1 games and picked up Mario Kart DD and Rainbow Six 3 for the Xbox.

Only cost me $16 bucks! :D

one of the stores I went to today still accepted ps1 games but the guy was pissed because he didn't know what he was doing and he said to call ahead next time to make sure a gamerush person is at the store.

I have two xbox games and they said they had a trade in value of 21 bucks :)

they changed a lot of things. They got rid of that n64 deal and nes deal where you buy one get one free something like that with cartridge games.

I went to farmington MI gamerush today and my friend who works there told me he no longer accepts ps1 games for the trade 2 get 1 for 10 deal. He still hooked me up with the deal (i traded jak II and cool boarders 3) though just cause he knew me...anyway it seems like if you got a dumb enough employee (read: a blockbuster only employee) they would still count ps1 games since all they do is scan a bar code to get the price reduced it has nothing to do with scanning the games. my advice is to wait until like 9 or 10 at night when the gamerush employees arent working and trade ps1 games to blockbuster employees if u still want to scam them...i know i do.

My local store allowed me to trade in old ps1 games for the 2 for 1 for 9.99 deal today. However the trade in one used get one new game for 39.99 deal is dead even though it's still on the website....weird.

There's also a coupon in the new issue of Gamepro for "trade in 3 games (PSX,PS2,GC,XBOX,GBA), get one for $4.99". There's also one for the month before, but that one excludes PSX games.

Using a variety of this and the other "trade 2, get one for $9.99" deal, I've gotten Splinter Cell:pandora Tomorrow, Socom II, a USB headset, and the USB keyboard all for $34. Mainly by buying 2.99 games at one location and trading them in at another Blockbuster. Some other stores give a high trade in value on new games, which I took advantage of to get the USB keyboard and headset from EBGames.

Yeah, a Gamerush employee at the Farmington location wouldn't accept my PS1 games last week. Sucks since they're the only Gamerush around here that actually keeps the games in their original cases instead of those generic Blockbuster cases.

Know what sucks? I'm only 14, and the people at my closest GR tell me I have to get my parents to sign some sheet because somebody under a certain age (18?) can't trade in games without supervision. I mean, it's not like my parents knew what the hell I was doing. Well, I guess that's the price I gotta pay for such cheap ass deals. But, I can deal with it.

So, basically, that paper you sign, does it mention anything about buying a game from one Game Rush, and to selling it to another one? Because I really want a copy of ToS soon...

I don't think they have any way to tell where you got that game anyway...

If anyone has extra of the new gamepro coupon let me know, the magazines in my region don't get those coupons.

I appreciate it, but no way they'd take this over here....not only because it says on it no reproductions....but also because the coupon wasn't even circulated in my area they will be extra suspicious.

Are people on fatwallet saying they had success using this print out?

If anyone has extra of the new gamepro coupon let me know, the magazines in my region don't get those coupons.
You could try using a printout, someone on Fatwallet scanned it.
Are people on fatwallet saying they had success using this print out?
Yeah, they have been using them for awhile (for the 9.99 deal too). The wierd part is most of the people using the scanned coupons are going to non-Gamerush Blockbusters, I dont know how though since the ones around here wont take game tradeins at all.

i have the sheet, i'll try to up load it

*edit* i'll post it latter tonight or tommorow afternoon. i'm leaving to store and i have meet the devils, i mean teacher crap tommorow, for high school.

to answer anyone before they post it, i got it by going to a gamerush and started to have my parents fill it out, they told me they wouldn't take my 3rd party controllers, so my mom had filled some of it out. we took it cuz that store is 30 min from my house and there are 3 closer that we go to more often. since you have to fill one out at each store.

to be honest, i havent been there in about 2 weeks...but they should. none of these stores have been that stringent.

this deal is the sickest! i wish i didn't give away so many games the week before I heard about this. I feel so guilty every time i give the guy $4 and he gives me a 40 game.

as deals go, i'm happy with the 3 games +4.99. i bought some junk games to trade in. they don't have a refusal list yet, right?

they dont refuse anything I dont think

I have tried to trade in MORE than 3 ps1 games of the same and they would only take two. Some stores would only take the 2 and said I couldn't trade in that game anymore others said its only 2 of the same title a day.

im going to Game Rush next week. Does anyone know if I can use two of the "trade in 3 games and get a preowned game for $4.99"? Or would it be possible for me to use one coupon and the person im going with to use another?

u can use as many coupons as u have just make sure its on a seperate receipt. it would probably be easiest just to have the person u go with do it but youll be able to use them both by yourself.

Is there a site that has the locations of all the GR's? Because there isn't one in Maryland, but I go to school in NC and it would be good to know where the one there is.

www.gamerush.com

Although I heard that there are some stores in a few states that aren't listed on the site...

As far as exclusions are concerned, they do reject a game if they have too many copies of it. At least thats what they said when my friend tried to trade in Madden 2001 or 2002, their reason was that they had too many copies even tho the trade in value of it would've only been like 50 cents...

thanks, i'm going to see what there is at my local one.i have a 4.99 coupon that ends in a month, wanted to check to see what there is since school starts in a week here.

I should head back to some Game Rushes soon, I haven't went to any local ones in a few weeks.

BTW, those coupons for the free toy, 5 dollars off PH, PC, and GH titles, etc are gone, well, at least they are here... I stopped by a few in Richardson with a friend... but nothing caught my eye.

The one in Town East is still the best store in the Dallas area as far as I'm concerned and I've been to about 5-6 seperate Game Rushes within the area.

My haul yesterday:
traded in DN: a time to kill and Roadkill for a total of $10, got Transformers for PS2 free...and because that was a used game, i got half off of SUPER METROID....which was priced at 6.99...so yeah, i paid $3.50 for super metroid :)
While standing there being rung up, i looked in the sytems case and noticed a genesis ver. 2...with sega cd for only 19.99. great deal, even though it had an snes audio/video cable :)

$25+6 in traded in games = $31 =
Genesis/Sega CD
Transformers PS2
Super Metroid SNES

I think that was a good deal :)

I don't know if you guys know this, if you do sorry for posting, but they do shelf pulls on Tuesdays for games that don't rent well or just to sell on a list from corporate and I got Onimusha 3:Demon Siege on that $9.99 deal yeatrday. THey were pulling only 1 copy at the location I went to but it could be more at others.

Eh, I figure I'm in a lull right now.
I got a bunch of decent stuff early in the promo, but there really aren't all that many games that scream "buy me" when I look over the shelves. Even then, there's a lot of decent games that cheap enough with the buy one get one half off that you sometimes have to wonder whether it's worth the leg work.
Not to mention that I'm still playing tales of symphonia, have a stack of CC games yet to play, and still have lots of games that I bought earlier in the promo that still are in various stages of incompleteness.

More often then not, as I look over the shelves now I'm more apt to buy old gameboy games while they are on the B1G1 sale.

I think the last game I actually traded stuff in to get was Metal Slug 3.

Unless I start seeing some really cool stuff start hitting the shelves, I think I may just start stockpiling games with the intent to trade them in during the fourth quarter... If they have this promo running then, it'll probably be sheer insanity.
I think the last game I actually traded stuff in to get was Metal Slug 3.
Grrr, I wish I could find a used Metal Slug 3 at a GameRush here. I've literally called just about every single store in the Dallas area and none of them have a used copy of it... :(

It's gamerush heaven in SoCal right now

I went to three blockbusters and they were all being turned into gamerushes

that rocks bigtime

i got DOA 2 hardcore and Freekstyle for 10 total

I cant even find a new copy were I live. I hate paying more than 20 for a game but this one is getting hard to find. I still have one $10 off any new game at GR, but as I said, its nowhere around.
