HEROES - super thread...

I must have completely missed that. What episode was it?

I need to get all the currently shown episodes on torrents and make a DVD so I can watch them whenever I want and get other people into the show, not that is hurting for viewers.

And I am pretty sure that the eclipse was what triggered the dormant abilities. If the flashback episode happens, I hope its a 2 parter and goes further back than 6 months, to the point that some of the people had signs of their abilities at a much younger age.

Do you think they had their powers (or even signs of them) at younger ages? I assumed that the characters were exposed to something or someone that forced human evolution. My reason for thinking this was the references to a "patient zero" and the Mohinder's map, which is much like an epidemic map.
 
About the flashback thing .. I'm hoping they use that device wisely to help round out the story and provide some exposition while letting the main story proceed. Let's hope they dont do what the writers of Lost do with flashbacks and use them as filler and a crutch.

Maybe some of them, like Hiro and the cheerleader. I mean, why would Claire just decide, "Ok, I'm going to jump off of this bridge and see what happens".

I think some of the Heroes had dreams or something at younger ages and thought nothing of it until the eclipse hit and they really became intensified. Just a thought though, I guess I just want the flashback to be a little further back than a 6 month span.

Sylar is not Nicki's (the blonde) husband, that is DL and he was just introduced in the last episode.

Sylar is not Claire's dad. There is a relationship between them but that will be explained in future episodes. ( That was discussed in an interview with the shows creator, see previous posts in the thread for link).

Could Peter Petrelli (Milo Ventimiglia) have more then one power?

Tim Kring: Peter may have multiple powers. By proximity to his brother (Nathan), he was able to fly. When he was near Issac, he had the ability to draw the future. It’s fair to say Peter could have more then one power.

The powers are intended to be confusing, as we’re following it through the characters point of view. Nikki’s character is the one character who’s discovering this in the most confusing way. So we’re asking the audience to sort of buy in the conceit that it’s going to be a road of discovery throughout the next couple of episodes. By episode five or six, things should be more clear.

Powers are just powers, it’s what you do with them that defines your circumstances. Depending on the character’s personality, the powers may be used for good or evil. Some of our Heroes will be tempted by the dark side.

So from that I would say that Peter has the ability to MIMIC powers not absorb. And thats from Tim Kring, the show creator...

Anyone think that Syler could have an absorption power as well? Maybe by comsuming the brains of other "Evolvees" he can permanently take their power? That could be why the cheerleader had her head opened on the canvas peter painted. And why saving the cheerleader is so important. Syler is already extremely powerful, make him invincible to boot and...

Just a thought.

I was thinking the same thing about Sylar...

There has to be some reason for cutting the heads open and removing the brain.
Gaining the ability of the person makes sense. Also adds a good mystery to Sylar, what powers has he gained (if that is the case).
 
I like where the above posters have gone with the idea of Sylar stealing the powers of his victims. However, I am starting to lean towards a research of them moreso than absorbing them. Then again,
I think the Mohinder's father, is still alive and could possibly be Sylar, if only a split personality. Now that would make for an intersting turn of events

Also, I got to thinking about this when I got to work a few minutes ago, what if the scar that Hiro was refering to was from
non other than Sylar. Maybe Sylar was unable to take Peter's brain due to his ability to mimic others abilities. Thus making a scar where Sylar began to attempt to extract his brain.

I know its only speculation, but I don't want to ruin anything for those that are just now getting into the show.
 
Another solid episode tonight, though too many comercials in the last 15 minutes of it.

And what a way to open up another mystery in the show.
I mean having that chick thats is comforting Muhinder end up working for Claire's dad, thats insane. And now he knows they're looking for a cheerleader, and is assuming its her. Also next week looks intense with Hiro and Ando meeting up with DL and Micah (who in a scene appears to have power (just speculation on my part))

I can't get enough of this show.

And it did look like Micah had a power, but all he was doing was looking very intently on something... I'm guessing with two parents with powers, he has to
 
I wonder how far away we are from Hiro and DL saving Claire, as I think thats who will end up saving her, since they are the closest people that we've seen so far to her.

Next week looks pretty slow, but then again, its the day before, atleast in real time, the blast happens, IRC the date on the paper was November 7th (next Tuesday). It may make for a huge show.
 
I always thought that Eden was suspicious because she just helped Mohinder for flaky reasons at best.

I really hope that DL didn't kill Micah's mom (I can't remember her name for the life of me), as her talk with her other personality made her character a whole lot more interesting.

I seriously doubt Niki is dead, but then again, I don't remember her in big plan before the explosion

Could someone explain DL's power to me, I know it involves a camoflaguing ability
 
The shows move at a slower rate than real life. Novemember 8th in show time will most likely be the season finale.

I have a feeling that after what DL did, Nikki may end up with her split personality on a semi-permanent basis and end up a catalyst towards the explosion.

Also, I figured it moved at a much slower pace than real life, but I just wanted to hold out hope for a bigge episode next week.

[/quote]DL can go through matter, which is how he broke out of prison and how he fucked up Nikki's psychotically strong alter-self.
He kinda reached in her and did something, and the episode ended with her lying on the ground not moving.

And everyone here: stop using spoiler tags. It's ridiculous and irritating. This thread is dedicated to heroes, spoilers are to be expected by anyone coming in here.

But seriously, unless it's like a cheapy plastic kids toy sword he buys at Walmart, chances are he finds it in his path.

I've missed a lot of this show, but definitely enjoyed what I've seen. Last night was probably the second full episode I've managed to catch. Glad to see they finally put a real geek in a geek role.
 
I just got home from having dinner with some friends and it looks like my Tivo didn't begin recording until after the first commercial break. Can someone fill me in on what happened the first five minutes of the show, either in a spoiler tag or a PM?

In preperation of tonights episode, in which I haven't been able to see yet, I can answer my own question from last time.

He would have a sword as the Future Hiro who traveled back in time most likely did not have his own Future-Future Hiro to inform him about the sword. If that makes sense.
 
I find myself growing increasingly bored with this show. The only characters I like is Hiro and his friend.I can't stand everyone else especially Nikki/Jessica and the two brothers. Save The Cheerleader Save The World sounds so cheesy and stupid.

Because until the save the cheerleader, they aren't guaranteed to save the world. And if they were to not save the cheerleader, then they wouldn't save the world.

not a bad show last night...i actually like the 2 brothers storyline.
