HEROES - super thread...

pretty good episode...nothing great but it moved the story along...

the guy that played sylar was in an interview, and he said

that he was shocked at some of the things that are in store for his character. I don't know if that is typical actor talk or if he was serious. It would be an interesting twist at the end of the season to have sylar be a "good" guy while and have either peter or claires dad be the "bad" guys

When you talk about Claire's dad, do you mean Mr. Bennet or
Nathan
as either of those would be the more likely to be bad.

And with the preview for next week, anything is possible with Sylar.
i think he is a lot older, 10 years or so. i mean pepter just recently became a nurse, nathan is running for congress.
I figured it was atleast a 5 year difference, but that was without really thinking about him running for Congress.

And to think, Peter saved his neice and didn't know it.
it doesnt seem like there is much to the two sides, i mean sylar is bad, but jessica/nikki is stupid and everyone else seems good. even claires father has a little good in him and the hatian seems good too
I am sure that there is going to be a twist out of nowhere and one of the big three Hiro, Claire, or Peter will end up on the bad side.

I agree that Niki/Jessica is dumb, and that they should just have one of the sides win out and "kill" off the other, that way we know which one she is and she'll stay that way.

well i think calling him a pop culture icon is a bit out there...but going by that picture i believe that is

stan lee....comic book legend and he has a reality show now

wow, hereo's finally beat fox in total viewers....

24 for this week 9.3/13 (last week 9.5/14)
heroes this week 9.6/14 (last week 9.0/13)

it is expected for hereos to dominate in the 18-49 year old demographic.

If you look at the numbers of the other shows in that timeslot...last week 2 1/2 men had an 8.2/12 and new adventures of an old christine came in at 6.4/9

This week 2 1/2 men (with special guest star brooke shields) came at at #1 in the hour with a 10.8/15. The 2nd half hour had the premiere of david spades rules of engagment with a 9.2/13. Looks like the 24 viewers jumped ship to 2 1/2 men and rules of engagement.
Yeah, I got it shortly into the episode and tried the site on my phone, as well as my home PC and there is nowhere to put that information in on the site whatsoever.

Edit: Its on the about us page, in the helix.

Saw it on NBC.com in the Heroes boards

Edit 2: Its in the logo, go over it to get a read icon.
here are the codes that i've found so far:

to get into claire's father's secret files through the helix:

1st file:

3rd file:

anybody have the 2nd file password?
damn no activity tonight?...anyways, noticed on Hiros Father's limo the plate says NCC-1701 :)
Heh, I thought I was the only nerd who noticed that. ;) I actually paused it and pointed it out to my wife who then called me out on being a giant nerd... even though she recognized the numbers before I told her (she just didn't catch it in real time).

Great episode overall and I think they are setting up Peter and Sylar as the main rivalry since they have essentially the same powers except the bad guy (Sylar) has to kill other heroes to get their powers and the good guy (Peter) just has to connect with the other heroes to get their powers.

I also liked the twist at the end - it's funny that Peter is kind of attracted to his neice and doesn't know it. That's a total Star Wars situation. I also liked how Claire's real mother isn't evil (for now) since the previews from last week made it seem that way.

I think this is my favorite show on TV right now besides The Office.
I hope someone here agrees with me in saying that I personally don't believe she's all that attractive.
DIE!!!!!!!!!! :p

Oh yeah for those of you (if any) that thought
Parkman dies next week, he doesn't; he actually has a huge role in the episode 2 weeks from tomorrow. He takes the Bennet's hostage with the Nuclear guy
So Craven,
Parkman turns bad? Why?
I think it's more that Nuke man tells parker about Mr. Bennett and Parker wants to get some revenge.

Course I could be completely wrong, but I'm sure we'll find out.
So Craven,
My guess is
that is has something to do with the fact that he thought Mr. Bennet (aka Linderman, IMHO) had/has Sylar in his paper factory. And without being on the force any more, he feels he's got the chance to find out once and for all about what he's (Mr. Bennet) has been up to. And Radioactive guy gives him a bit of a boost since all he can do is read minds.

Also, I only saw that on the preview via my cable box, so it could change.

A bit of that too.
The whole "Someone flies. Someone dies." preview line was incredibly misleading.
Probably should put spoilers since thats the preview for next week.

Funny thing is, at this point, we all should know who doesn't die that they make us believe would die next week. Ando and Nathan are both at the site of Peters combustion. My guess is Nathan is the flyer and Mrs. Bennet is the one that dies.
Craven, I'd say that your first guess is spot on. The second one though, I'm not so sure.
It makes sense that its Nathan, especially with Jessica coming after him. Peter, while possible, would be too early in his "training".

As for my 2nd guess, it was a toss up between her, Zach, and Niki/Jessica (just because I am hating this character). I'd lean towards Zach on this one, since the episode on the 26th deals with the Bennets.

I am also not too sure who wasn't in the NYC scene where Peter explodes, but that also tells us who won't die

I'm not sure if it's by design,
but everyone seems to hate her/her
.
I'm not sure if it's by design,

It almost has to be by design. She is pretty pointless. Sure she has superhuman strength, but only as Jessica. So she can't (well until now sense she is Jessica) control when she has it. I hope she is the character that dies off next week, but she will probably be on until atleast the end of the season.

And also, was DL, Micah, or her in the scene from NYC where Peter explodes, because here are the ones I remember (thus they don't die soon):

Peter and Nathan
Ando and Hiro
Parkman
Claire
Simone and Isaac
Invisible Man (name escapes me for now)

And I just thought of another few characters to add to the possible die list, Peter and Nathan's mother, Claire's real mom, and Parkman's wife (hopefully)

Yeah, DL, Micah and Niki are all in the NYC vision Peter had. However, keep in mind that Tim Kring has specifically said that the vision will always be changing whenever it shows up. Note the fact that Christopher Eccleston was not in the first vision Peter had but then when he had it a second time, there he was laughing a storm up. So don't take someone appearing in the vision as a reason for why they couldn't die. They could easily reshow the vision without any one of the Heroes in it.

Yeah, thats what been throwing me off. But as the visions stands now, all of those people are "safe".

I dont know if peters 'visions' are that acurate, how come he can just pull them out and the painter has to paint them?

also anyone else catch a glimpse of the painter in a dark moody scene....not sure how to describe it......

as for who dies

I am pretty sure I read in tvguides ask ausiello a couple weeks ago that it was a female character that was show in the first couple of min in the first episode. I also think it said they die in the march 12 or so episode.

as for mr linderman
i am pretty sure mr bennett is not him, in the same tvguide article it talked about the cast calling to fill him and what they were looking for

future dead character info
Question: A big glass of Smurfberry Snapple if you tell me if my suspicions are right and it's Claire-Bear who gets killed on Heroes.— Layla

Ausiello: Here's my dilemma: Claire isn't the one dying, but I still want that big glass of Smurfberry Snapple. I suppose I could lie and say Claire is going to die, but that seems kinda underhanded. Thoughts? Here's something to chew on whilst you mull that over: There are actually two big Heroes deaths coming up. One's on Mar. 5, the other is in the run-up to the season finale

per http://www.tvguide.com/News-Views/Columnists/Ask-Ausiello/default.aspx

I hated Nikki/Jessica too but she got a lot more interesting
now that she is out of her cage. Also, since they both appeared at the same time and one wasn't in a reflection (in the stairwell) I'm starting to wonder if they won't split permanently and there will be an "evil twin" running around or something. There are possibilities here.

Referencing both of these, I can only assume that
Simone will die. She is the first female to show up on Heroes within 2 minutes. As well, there's been speculation that Ando dies as well. Both of these deaths would put major strain on all those connected to.

I hope that one of the big deaths isn't Ando, but if it is, as long as it has something to do with Hiro becoming a better Hero out of it, its cool. Like in a sense to dedicate himself in memory of Ando.

Also, I think Issac may turn dark out of all of this. I think it may be due to the other huge death, Simone, and him blaming it on Peter.

Also, about the visions, I think Peter got the ability from someone else. Part of me thinks that may have been his special connection to Simone's father. He had some sort of power, IMHO, why not be the ability to see the future? He was rich after all

With all that said, I think, and hope, that the "big" deaths are going to be Ando (hate to say it, but this could lead Hiro into fully developing his powers, as Ando has been the only one that really believed in him). And the other one, Mr. Bennet (assuming he really isn't Linderman, I don't think the Linderman character has been cast like Ryan said, but that doesn't mean it won't end up being Mr. Bennet). He's huge in the sense that with him gone, no one will stop Claire from getting out of Texas and finding Peter. My guess is he may be the March 12th death and trigger Claire's "running away" to find Peter.

I chose Peter, as I am pretty sure he's the only other Hero she has come into contact, that she knows for sure is a Hero.

Next week should be interesting, as well as the following episode. I think that
Mr. Bennet's line "I did it to protect my family", comes from that episode and him killing Ted
the episode in a few weeks will be a big catalyst for the final 10 or so episodes.

never said he was casted, I just said that there was an open cast call for mr linderman...that was from at least oct

also the one that will die in early march will be a female so mr bennet isn't likely...

a male character, while not major but it would be nice if they showed him die rather then not having him around anymore is claires friend...he did his finale shoot a couple of weeks ago, i know that they weren't happy about his refusal to be a gay character and he allegedly wasn't in anymore episodes

I wasn't imply that you did. I thought I remembered you posting something about they were looking to cast from outside the current cast

And I completely forgot about the female character dying. It will probably be Simone then, and that may be the driving force for Issac to go "dark side".

I'm not sure what the need for him to be gay would be - it seems like it would be just for the sake of it and not for any real plot device.

I'm hoping one of these weeks Sylar absorbs a power that no one would want - something like Rogue or Nightcrawler has - and he has to deal with that...

i never got it either, from what i have hear on the tvguide podcast and from comments in the ask ausiello section of tvguide.com, he was signed on to be a gay character on the show, and the homecoming night was supposed to be his coming out (possibly kissing another guy)...allegedly as soon as his agent got the script she threaten to pull him off the show...the guy playing zach has done gay characters before but they were never in a major production like hereo's, it is of my belief she didn't want him typecasted as a gay character, as his roll on hereo's would most likely be noticed by most other production studio's...they had to rewrite the script at the last minute..The only reason I believe they wanted him to be a gay character is either to show there was nothing between him and claire.

Anyway,
what exactly did Hiro do when he used his powers? Did he localize a reverse in time or something?
