alright - tru employee's just suck (w/ the exception of primm, of course)

these ppl could not find one friggin' thing about the series 2 figures in their database - can any of you help me w/ their 6-digit item # ?????
tru sku # 587572
tru sku # 587572
Thanks Zepp-Head, you saved me some time and money!!! I called my local TRU and they said none were available in the district.

No problem - none in my area yet either. Too bad Fred Meyer didn't get them yet, they're having a 20% off all toys this week.

They're out here (In Denver) at least. I found 15 figures but my eyes got mixed up after so much comparing barcodes that I got an extra skier, so I missed the spartan. Ugh. Thinking about just zipping back over there today and tracking that last one down.

Yes there was a barcode list for the first set...it's floating somewhere on the internet.

As for the minifigs, one box was setup right across the Lego aisle and there was another by the checkout.
My TRU is becoming a babies r us! It's a disaster area.
They have to know that's a step backwards... Babies only last for 3 years or so.... then what? Rattles and rubber ducks aren't going to do it anymore.

I hate TRU.

Again, I called, and had that number, (HUGE thanks!) but they said they will not get it. I even talked to a different manager or something during the daytime that I don't talk to when I visit which is usually the weekend.

The next closest is almost 2 hours away. not worth it.

I just found out today they are building a "Legoland Discovery Center" near me. Are those anything special? Is the Lego shop that will be part of it an official store or some kind of cheap knock off? Also said they are building a Lego Mini Golf course... that's... interesting.

So, while we were doing our resets at my store this week, someone found a Lego City Advent Calender set behind a bunch of Mega Blocks crap no one ever touched. And wouldn't you know, the set is still at $29.99.

BRU makes money and TRU does not. TRU was even going to sell itself and just keep the BRU name a few years back.

At first I thought they were going to make it half BRU and half TRU like it is now during construction. Nope. TRU Express is going in across the street so that would be useless to half two in the same area, it's not a Gamestop.

The closest TRU is now in Whorecester, that's like an hour away and it sucks, bad area. The minifigures should be at TRU, Target and Walmart, all have exclusives with LEGO.

Kmart has a couple of Harry Potter sets on their sight that say "in stock" but when you add the sets to your cart then they become "unavailable".

Edit: They fixed it somewhat. The sets are still in the general lego listing, but when you click them it says item not found.

My local Walmart also dropped their clearance prices on the few sets they did clearance. Unfortunately they did it Friday morning and sold most everything before I got there. Family Home sets were going for $20.:bomb::bomb::bomb:

Prim: is TRU getting MF Series 2 via FedEx on random days or via the standard TRU truck?

Anybody: Is K-Mart doing the extra 50% off toy clearance this week?

My report: nada - haven't gone out hunting for LEGO deals for a few weeks. Called TRU looking for the MF S.2 though...nada. I saw on another forum that last year's 10199 Winter Toy Shop was back on sale at Amazon several times, but I missed it. If anyone sees a site (or Amazon) selling them again for $59.99, please post the details here - I need one. Thanks! :)

Okay... I lurk all toy-related threads (whether I buy the stuff or not... >.>) but if Kmart is doing the 50% off clearance this week, could someone drop me a PM? :D I know mine has a lot of stuff I'm after still.

They come via standard TRU truck
Where did this rumour of a 50% off clearance at KMart start?
They tend to do it once a month.. don't think they've done it this month yet.. and there is a lot of clearance stuff built up.

OK. Wasn't sure if someone here worked at KMart or not.

My TRU is oddly enough not closing, even with a large TRU Express across the street. It's becoming a new half BRU and half TRU. Before it was 2/3 "toys". The only difference i can tell is that the checkout is even worse designed and they seemed to get rid of all the bikes, which is a very smart move.

My wife and I built the Taj Mahal over the weekend. It took us about 9 hours to finish. She worked on the 1st book while I did the 2nd and then we split the 3rd. The build does get pretty repetitive since you're building two to four of each section.

All in all though, we had a great time building it and the end result looks amazing. Now we just have to find a place to put it :)

Buy 1 Get 1 50% off at TRU week of 9/5 on all Lego City sets.

The distribution center for my region is showing close to 20,000 series 2 minifigs in stock. Hopefully they start trickling out this week.

Thanks A TON, elsnerma! :D You saved me alot of time, and free shipping to boot! I ordered a full 60 - fingers crossed they send me a sealed and "unpicked-through" box. If not, I'm sure I'll be safe to find a full set of 16 within that quantity, plus a few extras I might want. Very cool!

EDIT - I ordered these at 2:40 pm PST, and I'm surprised they were still available since the quantities are not limited.

Thanks prim4444. I've got a couple of stores lined up to hit the day their trucks come in...and school starts this week around here so no kids in the stores!

I was reading on Brickset that someone couldn't find the Minifigures using the Search box on TRU.com. I tried it myself and sure enough, it doesn't work. The link above works though, that is how I got mine. How did you ever find them on the website, elsnerma? I guess this explains why they arent' sold out yet - its like a secret link heeheehee :)

Well, the fact that it was a secret link is part of the reason I hesitated to post it. :)
But I decided to post it after I was assured by a c.s. rep that the stock I ordered had already been allocated ( I ordered at 11:35 am EST) and wouldnt be affected by other people ordering insane amounts.

As for how I found it, I used Google Shopper on my EVO and scanned a printout of the barcode that someone posted on flickr, and as luck would have it, it showed tru.com as having them in stock and it provided me with the link.

Both the Lego stores by me got the series two minifigs in today. They are going to put out two boxes a day and limiting purchases (one said 5 per person while the other said 16 per day). Too late to head out tonight, but might take the kids in the morning for a last hurrah before school starts on Wed. I know they won't let me use my cheat sheet though...gonna hafta memorize the good ones.

Ah, I see - the TRU link does show up if you search "LEGO Minifigure Volume 2" on the Google Shopping site. Still available too as of this writing. This was definitely the find of the day. I just got my confirmation that they were already processing my shipment too! I also added the Advent calendar to my order. $34.99 seems pricey, but who knows how quickly those will go this year. A few years ago the calendars sat so long at LEGO Shop@Home that they had to clearance them, but lately they've been disappearing very quickly. That nearly nude & showering Santa Claus minifigure is the true gem in the 2010 set LOL! BTW, is $34.99 gonna be the S@H price too, or is that the usual TRU markup (no offense prim4444 ;) )?

Knowing TRU, it probably will be if not higher. Although, last years set is still in the system at $29.99. Got one sitting in the back at my store.

The Series 2 minifigures went out of stock at TRU.com not long ago, though apparently they're back up now. Looks like the limit is 60 per person.*

*Just kidding... gone again.

Saw the advent calendar at a Lego store today for $34.99. Also had the new minifigs (limit 16 -- which at least is better than the limit 5 from Series 1).

I have a toys r us closing down near me, anything I should look for? Or anything somebody wants..? I could middle man if someone is interested, although I think the stock was picked through, they only had one more wall of lego:cry:

damn, I waited too long :(

I was going to order some to replace some minifigs that I don't want. really I'm only shooting for a few good ones that i like, which is 4 of them, the rest I'll only keep one, but that means the box I ordered are going to have like 30 figs I don't want...

I hope I can get a set for myself, If it comes down trying to resort to ebay to try and make a set I'm just going to say the hell with it!!!!!:bomb:

its ridiculous how difficult it is to get these figures. my kid wants some, he loves legos. everytime tru gets a truck in the figures are supposedly gone within an hour.

If you could get the City Garage or Fire Department on the cheap I'd be interested:lol:

Man, I'm just going to set my thread subscription to send an email for every post instead of waiting until 11 PM after everything is sold out :p
TRU has the figs back up online. Now limited to 8 per customer.
I show out of stock... so yay, that was quick. Unless the link changed.

Gone again--looks like it's a sporadic type of thing. I got my order of 8 through. Good grief, LEGO. These Series minifigs are ALMOST not worth the trouble. (who am I kidding, I could never be mad at you LEGO cheerleader...)

Unless you didn't get a LEGO Cheerleader...

Anyways Borders has a lot more LEGO sets than they used to, looks like they just got some shipments in. Everything is $3-$4 more than it should be.

B&N near me has a toy section now with LEGOs, not sure it's it's just that store because it's bigger.

Anyone see the Castle Advent Calendar?
