Micro Center LIVE Point Cards 9.19.2009.

wild homes

CAGiversary!
Micro Center is selling Microsoft's 1600 LIVE points cards for $9.99, and the 4000 LIVE points cards for $39.99... I purchased three of the 4000 point cards today, and the cashier _did_ have to get authorisation from his supervisor (apparently they weren't ringing up correctly and had to be adjusted) but all the items DO have sku-correct price tags on them for the above prices and it was confirmed to me that it was not an error. This was at the Houston location.

If this is a repost, I apologise. I don't have time to search it up properly at the moment, on my way out the door.

EDIT: If you are looking to buy or sell these codes, we now have a thread for just that purpose.
How much were they going for at Marietta? I figure Duluth may have the same thing going on.
Don't bother. I posted in the ATL thread, but forgot to post here. It seems that the employees at the Duluth store put all the cards in customer service so a friend could come in and buy them. And then share with said employees I presume. That store ALWAYS gets hoarded on any deal they run. They really need to do a limit per customer on sales.

The store in Mayfield, Oh had them for $12.99 [1600pt] and $39.99 [4000pt] today. None of the employees had heard about the cheaper prices, but I picked up two 1600 cards for $12.99 each. Still a great deal, thanks OP.

Probably still have some in stock, there looked like quite a few. However, they are being held behind the cash register in the games section.
Thanks to the Bay Area hoarders, I can go concentrate on my 100+ backlog of games :)
good thing i didnt waste my time driving 40 minutes to santa clara

If you read earlier in the thread, Santa Clara location only had seven 1600 point cards as of last night. Seven cars can go by pretty fast without hoarders.

Off topic a little but the Duluth one has all orange priced games 50 percent off. Prices not really close to Target and other's clearance prices though, and not real notable titles....

Cant believe I missed this (live only a few minutes from the Chicago store)

Anyone know if this was just some random markdown or a special sale? Didnt get any emails from MC about it so I was just wondering

I picked up the last 3 4000 point cards at the Rockville, MD location on Saturday. Then on Sunday I remembered I had something worth $30 I could return and went back and picked up 3 1600 point cards. So for $90 I got 16,8000 MS points. When I left they still had 6 of the 1600 point cards.

We will see how long these points last me with all of the Beatles RB content coming out.

i have a friend heading there today when he gets back to me i will ask him if he had found the points cards on sale.
anybody been to the North Jersey store ?.....?

Store in Paterson, NJ had 1600 point cards for 12.99. I picked up four, and there were still a bunch left.
Thats what someone said a few pages back

i just took the last 2 1600 pt cards at the Bethel Rd. location in Columbus, OH, they had about 2 4000 pt cards there, for 39.99 (the 1600's were 12.99)

She said they would be getting more in soon, but didnt know how long the promo was for
Anyone been to the Mayfield Heights one?
I called and the guy told me he they were $13 for 1600 and $40 for 4000. I asked him if that's the correct price because I've gotten confirmations from other people/stores (I guess on here) that they were $10 and $20. I think that guy didn't know what he was doing though.
The stickers said 9.99 and 19.99. They rang up at the register as 12.99 and 39.99 so a manager had to come over and override the price with the sticker price.

This was at the St Davids/Philadelphia store. Unless they restock, they are all out of them.

confirmed to be 12.99 for 1600 point cards and 39.99 for 4000 point cards at the Radnor, PA Microcenter. The employee told me that a guy and his son were there when they opened and cleared them completely out, so sold out there.
Damn! I was just about to head over there, I was out of town all weekend and only just saw this thread now. Gonna call and see if there's more in stock, and if the sale is still going or not.

EDIT: Call confirmed the $12.99 price, however they are still out of stock. I'll wait a few days and see if they're still the same price when they restock.

That's the location I would go to so I guess you saved me a trip.

I just cleaned out the michigan madison heights one, They had two 1600's left and i got them both for 12.99 a piece no tax. this is not a weekend sale so give your local microcenter a call and see what they say. He told me on the phone that they had two left and that he would hold them for me.

Well, to the people saying noone one these boards help anyone out, handsomepete picked up two for me. Paying him 16$ each but still i just thought I would let you know there are some nice CAGS out there.

I found a couple (1600pts) at the Denver store. The employees (in the game dept) were shocked I found any as one (muttered) 'I thought those were supposed to be in the back with the others'. Hmmmm ...
I'll check out the Fairfax store and pick up some cards for you desperate CAGs.
Ah, PM me if you're they're not out of stock yet and you get some. Thanks.

Damn. I was out by Mayfield today and forgot to stop in. I'm going to be there on Wednesday so I'll stop in and report back.

Glad you wanted them. I was just over there a couple hours earlier, but didn't feel it was worth it to me.

I was going to head up there tomorrow too. I guess PM me and let me know if there are any left

in case someone here didn't post, the long island MC is out of the the 1600 point cards and has PLENTY of the 4000 point cards for $40. they also had plenty of Beatles Rock Band for $39.99, in case anyone's interested in that too...

Thanks, I usually end up buying them at 19.99, so even if it was 18.99 it would be worth it to me lol. Now when any new maps come out i'll just get them, instead of having to go to the store and paying full price. ( Not a big fan of XBLA)

I stopped by the Mayfield Heights, OH one tonight and they had 3 different 4000 points cards behind the counter in the games section for $39.99

They also had 3 month cards(6 or so) for $7.99 so that's a minor deal since it's $32 for a year.

That's odd considering the MC website has updated it's page and will now set you back $59.99 for TB: RB. Did you ask if they'd restock any of the 1600 point cards. Tons of new DLC I've love to pick up over the upcoming months.

Didn't know this sale was on until I was in the Mayfield store early Tuesday. I was picking up some computer stuff and stopped by the videogame section. Guy had all the point cards underneath stuff behind the counter, but he said he was exclusively a computer gamer so I'm assuming he wasn't hoarding them (somebody else had him hoard them).

Anyway, he only had 2 1600 point cards and another 2 guys (CAG?) came in asking for them. I would've bought both but figured I'd share the love. (Didn't even say THANKS! LOL)

I have too many arcade games and points, but this justifies buying Burnout Paradise without having to change discs for it, and I sold my copy on ebay for more than I expected.

Rockville, MD microcenter will not be restocking at discounted prices. Talked to them in store yesterday and gave them a call about ten minutes ago. :( I wasn't able to pick any up

I was in there last night and noticed the 4000 point cards behind the desk.

Did you see the $7.99 3-month Live cards?

Right they had some 4000 left at Mayfield. I considered grabbing a 3 month card, and I'm kicking myself for not. I don't play online much, but with fall/winter I should be getting back into it.

I called because I was gonna price match at mayfield bestbuy and the microcenter guy said they were sold out, I had a RZ coupon to use

Yeah, I'm to blame here. I went Monday after reading this thread. It took two managers to sell me several 1600 pt cards, but one made a comment like "You're lucky, we'll go reprice these right now."

Thanks OP. I also picked up Beatles since I was there and it was cheap. Would've missed out on that too.

OMG Are you guys serious noobs? You NEVER ever call if it's a good deal. It'll just draw attention and if they actually have it in stock, the sales associate you call will most likely buy them and tell you they don't have it at that price. There's no policy that they can't do that.

This. Cardinal rule #1 for deal hunting.

uhh it's not like there's a microcenter all over the place like best buy. Some people here are complaining how far it is.

I picked up the last three 1600 point cards for 12.99 each at the Duluth Georgia store. I also purchased Age of Empires 3 for 99 cents OEM. They had 4 more in stock.
