NFL 2007 Season Thread

I'll say this much...

My Skins might not beat the Pats, but they WILL NOT give up all those TD passes like Brady has done so far. Redskins secondary is stout.

Probably. Having 7 years of High Number 1 picks and spending a ton on players every year to try and buy a Super Bowl, they finally have a decent team this year.

I think someone finally told Dan Snyder that what works (worked) for the Yankees won't work for a REAL team sport like football.

Agreed. I like how you put "worked" since the Yankee's can't even buy a Title anymore. :)
you guys might be able to hold Brady to only 4 TD passes......... maybe.
I think we can hold him to 2 easily. My question is whether or not Jason Campbell can handle the Pats D.
WTF? That Reggie Wayne catch bounced off the ground, Jags should've challenged it.
I think he had his arm underneath it though.

Hmm, I must've looked at it wrong, I really thought I saw it bounce, oh well, the game's pretty much over anyway.

:whistle2:k

Well folks... stick a fork in it.... Colts's undefeated streak will continue.

But if they got into November 4th with it..... it WILL end. Guaranteeded.

 Oh yes it will.

The Colts played much better than the Jags last night. They challenged the Jags to pass and of course the Jags couldn't. The result would still be the same, even if Garrard had stayed in the game.

Doubt it, Gray looked freaking HORRIBLE. My uncle started Indy defense this week and was kicking himself since he forgot garrad hadnt thrown a single int this season. After getting 1 sack on garrad, he got 2 int, and a safety on gray. Safety really hurt them after the D stopped indy at an important turning point.

Im not saying they win if Garrad plays the full game, but it would have been much closer.

They were running well and decided to have him drop back. Not to mention they decided not to double Freeney or even chip him with the back.

I'm getting a bit sick and tired of the Jags though. Every fucking game with the Colts they play up the respect card and how no one considers them. Just shut the fuck up and play.

I agree with the above post. It's not the Jags complaining about respect as much as it is about the people of Jacksonville. A lot of people in Jacksonville are idiots with what they expect out of an NFL team. They think that the Jags should blow out teams like the Florida Gators do when they play division 1AA opponents at the beginning of the season.

I love the Jags, but can't stand some of the casual fans.

During Favre's weekly press conference, some reporters were trying to imply Favre has lost arm strength because of his two under-thrown passes in their last game. He didn't take very kindly to it. So now Denver gets to deal with a pissed off Brett. Great passing offense v great pass coverage D. Which side is going to give first?

You got a link to the vid or article? I wanna see what he had to say
consider Dre Bly and Champ Bailey might not play.. I'll go with GB.
REALLY!?!? Wow, that would not be good for Denver! The only injury I've seen for them is Walker, who is out for knee surgury. Where did you see that?

Money shot: ""It's a matter of opinion, but I challenge you to come out and catch a couple for me afterwards. You make that decision," a grinning Favre said Tuesday."
Haha, I guess he was juts having a bad day, for whatever reason.

Even if those guys are out, I'm still concerned. The Packers defense has been pretty solid, but it's their offense that has been inconsistent and made them tread a thin line between losing/winning, ultimately costing them a game.

With that kind of attitude though, I hope they tied up the loose ends on their bye week and come out swinging with no remorse.

I'm concerned with their running game, not their whole offense. Its true the O sputtered the last few games, but remember they were playing against very good defences. The Broncos may be highly rated against the pass, but they haven't played against a team like the Packers who have so many legitimate threats at WR. No team right now has a deep enough secondary to keep up with all the Packers WRs.

Ok, I'll be more specific about what I'm concerned about, and hopefully this is just a thing of the past now --> TURNOVERS

Thing is, the past couple games they haven't been able to hold onto the ball, one way or another. One game there are critical fumbles, other times it's INT's. I know it tends to be a problem with most teams, but with the Packers most of their turnovers had no excuse, it was just very poor ball security

Also at times, on quite a few of their drives, they weren't clicking or on the same page, and the WR's weren't helping much, in fact, they made the DBs/Safetys look like the WR's by not coming back or fighting for the football.

But yea, the Running game is the most frustrating thing I've been watching when they attempt to run it. Part of the problem is blocking/opening up a hole, but the Running backs don't make much of an effort to make plays, they get the hand off, do a little dance which does absolutely nothing, then run right into opposing traffic. It's so blatent, I seriously hope McCarthy and staff were drilling the crap out of the RB's.

I wish Fox would show the game in London in my area. I'm not so interested in Bears/Lions.

Ruh-roh...that Pats/Colts game may not be as epic with a 1-loss team coming in.

I'd trade ya games this London game is atrocious

Brian Gresie (sp) is such a bitch.

If you are going to scramble for a first down...you need to not come up a yard short because your sliding like a pus.

I am not saying that a QB should try to run someone over but if its 3rd down and you are scrambling for a first....sliding a yard short does nothing to help your team at all. Your down 10 to zip and trying to score before half that is just unacceptable.

Lower your head and shoulders and dive at the ground so that no one can hit your upper body and get the god damn first down.
I'd trade ya games this London game is atrocious
I just wanted to see it for the extracurricular TV cuts. I wanted to see if they show a lot of how the fans there are taking in the NFL experience.

Anyone catch the woman fucking up the National Anthem? I immediately turned away. I can't believe anyone short of a 1st grader can still fuck up the National Anthem in such a huge event.
.... am I seeing this right? The Vikings actually SHOWED up today?

HOLY SHIT!!! THAT ONSIDE KICK WAS TEH AWEZUM!
Chilly was in the papers today, saying they are actually trying to win this one, instead of just testing out some stuff and getting T-Jack some reps. I shit you not.

Its a difficult song and people underestimate it... Though, I don't understand how a professional can still fuck it up. Was it an amateur or a child?

I never thought they needed that live anyway. Just play a recording of a military band performing it. No need for some people to try and "out Diva" other singers renditions of the national anthem anyway.
