You really think By the Way and Stadium Arcadium are better than Blood Sugar Sex Magik? By the Way, Californication and Stadium Arcadium all sound the same. Each to their own, I guess, but I've never met any RHCP fan who thought that those three are better than Blood Sugar.

There are also quite a few gems from before Blood Sugar, too.
BSSM, while good, still has some of those lame "OMG FUNK RAP ROCK" moments that permeated throughout their incredibly awful early output. The past three albums have been incredibly strong collections of songs that show a level of artistic and personal maturity that just wasn't anywhere to be found before. The songwriting is just much better, which I imagine has a lot to do with John Frusciante's influence within the band. It's pretty clear when listening to his solo work that a massive portion of what they're doing now is due to him.
I'm not being apologetic, I just understand how the industry works and I know for a fact that you are wrong about this. But if you don't want to believe me, that's your business. I tried. I'm not a Harmonix employee and I have no vested interest here, so I will butt out of it now.
At least a discount should have been on the table to those that already bought it.

I could agree with that if the cover came out and this master track came out like 30 days later. However, the cover was months ago. In addition, before you purchase anything they state there will be no refund in points. I doubt Harmonix is going to talk to Microsoft about refunding a bunch of points

I got the cover, I am going to buy the master. No, I don't think Harmonix is trying to screw me over.

It's not a matter of if you should be refunded or not, it's a matter of principle.

What principle? there is a disclaimer when you buy a song off the marketplace that tells you of alternate versions before you pay for it, they are in no way responsible, plus its a completely different file with a completely different note chart by a completely different band.

Everyone's hating on Tell Me Baby, but I love Flea's groove on it. You gotta have at least a couple songs to break up the monotony for the douche stuck on bass.

I'm sure this has been covered already in this long thread but I'm confused about the compatibility of Rock Band and GH2/3 guitars. I understand that when RB came out GH controllers were compatible with RB but RB controllers were not compatible with GH. Is this still true? If it is that is bullshit, everything should work with everything.

Any word on the compatibility of GH4 with RB1 drums, guitar, and mic? I will not buy another bundle.

I agree with you here, hhhdx4.

Differences
Rush Master opposed to Cover band
New Note chart
New Solo in Music which is turn means a difference in the note chart stated above.

I mean, for example, I bought my Xbox 360 Premium at Best Buy in November 2007. We're coming up to a pretty much confirmed price drop of $50 dollars. (edit: mistype) I cannot go back to them, 7 months later and ask for that $50 bucks.

I know people feel scorched but there has to be some middle ground between the consumer and the producer.

We also need to look at the bright side here. As far I as know this is the first Rush Master track in any music game. That just paves the way for more Rush masters in the future.

i agree... it's not all that big of a deal. usually, i'm more of a douche about this stuff... but, i can't see a reason harmonix would have forced out a working man cover if they had known they would receive the masters. it's not like they're hard up for more dlc. as for a discount, it'd be nice but what's 1 dollar anyhow... not worth the grief.

However, with all those issues aside. Who is excited about the upcoming The Who super track pack on July 15th?

I'm actually wishing they start coming out with DLC I don't want so I can save some points but of course this is pretty much the only DLC I purchase.

I plan on getting 5 or 6 of them.
I'm likely going to get Baba, Behind Blue Eyes, My Generation, and one or two others.
"Who Are You" is a must.

I'll be getting "My Generation", "Who Are You", and "Behind Blue Eyes". Those are songs that I know. I'm not familiar enough with The Who to know the other songs very well. When they come out I'll preview them and maybe 1 or 2 others will jump out at me as another song I know.

Baba O'Riley = Teenage Wasteland = a must have!

Does anyone prefer the GH guitar for this game? I'm not too fond of the RB guitar at all and I like my old PS2 GH controller, so I'm trying to decide whether it's worth getting one for my 360.

Dude, practically everybody prefers the GH guitars. The Fender's buttons don't stick out enough. It's not wireless by default and the wireless one is poorly designed. Maybe Rock Band 2's Fender will be better.

Cool, thanks. I just got Rock Band a couple weeks ago so I'm still getting figuring out what's best and all. The fret bars don't bother me much but the damn strum bar is shit. I've got one of the new bundles but it still is crap. The only way it registers decently is if I'm hitting the bottom of the bar. Even then it feels like it sticks and causes me to miss way too many notes.
Now I need to decide if I want to pick up a used les paul or go ahead and get the Aerosmith bundle.

Thanks! Didn't realize that was the same song. Add that one to the list of downloading.

This is always funny to me, because I don't understand why people hate the RB guitars so much. Ok, I understand the people that have had 5 guitars replaced since launch, but I really don't think that's the norm. I had to replace my launch guitar once, and it's been fine since.

I think what makes your comment about the problems funny to me is that those are the reasons I love it. I love the flush fret buttons. They're the only reason I've been able to move up to hard. I can actually reach the fifth button easily. I've gone back to the old GH games and tried to move up to hard, and I just can't handle the fifth button on the GH guitar. The buttons are too spaced out. Plus, I'm glad it's wired so I don't have to worry about batteries and such.

Anyway, I'm just glad RB supports both so that everyone can play happily. I just hope my RB guitar works in GH4. :)

I agree with you about the frets. I haven't tried yet but just from playing the strat I think moving up to hard would be much easier than with the GH guitar. It's a shame how terrible the strum bar is.

HOLY CRAP! I thought this was gonna be the much talked about Who's Next album release, I didn't know it was going to be a mix... Eminence Front FTW! I'm in for at least 6 of those. I just have to make sure I don't go all Pete Townshend with my guitar ;)

Here's hoping for some more good Who in the future... I'd love The Seeker, Pinball Wizard, I Can See for Miles, and Your Better You Bet.

I actually prefer the Strat over the Guitar Hero guitar. However, I never did buy Guitar Hero 3 with the guitar for my 360. I am looking forward to The Who pack. I heard Pinball Wizard was slated for Rockband 2. Of course that is pretty much rumor for now.

I just picked up Rock Band on Friday...game only and I tried using my Disturbed code for the Best Buy pre-order and it brings up the page that says "here's your code" but there's no code :whistle2:s

Anychance anyone out there has a code to spare?

I am really not so impressed... What would be the guitar closer? ACDC i would guess, but thats really a weak ACDC song... Metallica Battery would probably be the full band song...

I want the following from the list:

Fleetwood Mac - Go Your Own Way
Offspring, The - Come Out & Play (Keep 'em Separated)
Panic at the Disco - Nine in the Afternoon
Presidents of the USA - Lump

I wish they would put more tracks with female vocals and some Spanish Rock would be cool. If GH3 could have one Spanish rock song, I'm sure they could add some to Rock Band as well.

I really want (from that list):

Fleetwood Mac - Go Your Own Way
Journey - Any Way You Want It
steely Dan - Bodhisattva
Allman Bros - Rambling Man
Bon Jovi - Living on a Prayer
The Who - Pinball Wizard
Norman Greenbaum - spirit in the sky
Nine in the Afternoon would be terrible for guitar, drums and bass
That it would be, that Green Gentleman would have been a really great track to use.

If that tracklist is real it seems like theyre going for the most popular song from a band rather than the better or better suited for the game song.

edit: Did I just see what I think I saw?

BATTERY!

edit2: What this game desperatley needs, some THIRD EYE BLIND

Not feeling that tracklist. At all. They even took one of the few things that would have really excited me (Testament) and picked their worst single ever.

Kind of a strange list, not sure if I buy it. Hopefully it's not legit.

And from the other rumor list going around (kotaku for those who haven't seen it), I'd want the ones from above, and the following:

6) Dammit (Blink 182)
32) Holiday In Cambodia (Dead Kennedys)
41) Push It (Static-X)
44) Bandages (Hot Hot Heat)

51) Suffer (Bad Religion)

All songs I would be at LEAST considering a download of. Bolded would be absolute no brainers for me. I'm pretty pleased-- My only surprise is a complete lack of freezepop from the bonus songs! :(

"Suffer" is Bad Religion's only non-live album that I don't own, but anything by them's a no-brainer for me. Especially older stuff like that. Still hoping for Sorrow, but it might end up being DLC if either of those lists is correct.

Wow, I totally forgot about the distance between the frets. I barely ever play Hard, to be honest. Yes, my Fender broke after only a few days, so maybe I didn't give it as much of a chance as I normally would. But the strum bar does suck, at least in the launch batch.

BTW, wireless is a big advantage when you're playing four-player - setup and teardown are way easier with less wires. I'm hoping RB 2 will have some wireless options, though I might still buy that wired mic that Madcatz is putting out.
