Rock Band series - Rock Band 4 out now

Yeah, I can take that. Long as it wasn't that god awful Sam's theme I can definitely purchase it without feeling horrified beyond belief.

Plus in the end I'll still just think of Matrix of Leadership opening up eitherway and that alone is enough.

So Snoop Dogg's Tha Shiznit, Who Am I, and Snoop's Upside Ya Head are all rerecordings with full band set up instead of just studio beats. The rest are normal studio versions. Biggest complaint so far is Who Am I you sing the parts that aren't Snoop as well.

Oh and Drop It Like It's Hot as well, hell that one has a guitar solo too. I Think I like this DLC more then I thought.

I picked up Drop It Like It's Hot, and was going for Tha Shiznit, but ran out of points. They sound better than expected.

I highly doubt that play count will count anything prior to RB3. But even starting every song at zero and counting plays within RB3 only, that will be useful. Make it much easier to find your new stuff, as well as your most popular.
Dio – “Holy Diver” +
Dio – “Stand Up and Shout” +
Juliana Hatfield – “Nirvana”
Morrissey – “Irish Blood, English Heart”
Silverchair – “Straight Lines”
The Smiths – “This Charming Man” +
Underoath – “Writing on the Walls”

Snoop Dogg one week and all this stuff the next. How can anyone not like this company? :D

Feh. May get Holy Diver if I'm feeling goofy, that's about it.

Currently in the process of opening up my RB2 strat to try to clean the interior of the frets...it's getting to the point now where it's missing notes and "cutting me off" when holding down notes enough to be really annoying. I'm not buying another instrument until RB3 comes out (and even then I don't know if I'm going to bother with the pro model guitar), so if cleaning it does nothing I guess it'll be back to the Les Paul with the wonky tilt sensor, or the ever-reliable wired Explorer.

Xplorer for the win! Still the best guitar out there for these games IMO.
What happened to Linkin Park!?
Got to hold out for 3! I want to be able to do two part vocals as Mike and Chester!

I seemed to have misplaced my xbox rock band mic somewhere.. I have a Sing It! PS2 mic, do you guys think that'll work with rock band on the xbox?

If it's a Logitech USB Mic, yep. I use my PS2 Karaoke Revolution Mic on the Xbox as my 3rd mic.

oh man, I've been waiting for "This Charming Man" since RB1 was announced. "Irish Blood, English Heart" is also my favorite Morrissey solo song, so that's bonus, and "Holy Diver" just sweetens the deal.
I'm so happy.

Can't say I'm interested in any of that stuff this next week.

Edit: Played RB2 vocals for like 3-4 straight hours today and browsed the store and RBN. I see they've added quite a bit of Industrial stuff. A few of the songs look pretty good, but a couple sounded like complete garbage.

I notice there seems to be a buttload of Metal and Indie Rock, and to a lesser extent, punk in the RBN.

Double Edit: I think this song would be great for RB3. Harmonies, and plenty of keyboard.

He's saying that by putting it in quotes, they're implying that it's not really a greatest hits album. Either the Destructoid writer doesn't understand how to use quotes or he has shit taste in music.

Hey all, just a heads up on if you were planning to go into the stand alone Rock Band Music Store "game" to pick up one of the Dio tracks. Make sure which one is actually going to download before you hit Confirm on your purchase. When I went in there earlier, it was flipped around. For example, going to buy Holy Diver brought up a download link for Stand Up and Shout, and vice versa. I was planning on buying both anyways, but for someone who was only planning on buying one, that will be an issue to keep a look out for.

oh snap, glad I checked this thread again. I thought the DLC songs came out on Thursdays. It's been a long time since I was this pumped for some DLC, so I'll be downloading these when I get home.
Does anybody know if the Harmonix bands will have tracks in RB3 like in 1 + 2 (Bang Camero, Freezepop, etc.)?
Freezepop I don't think works for Harmonix. I Think they're just closely tied together, since one of their songs did make it to Guitar Hero: On Tour if I remember right.

Other then that, if we're basing things on the "rumored achievement list" then there will be a pack of free DLC to come with Rock Band 3. So maybe on there. Otherwise it's going to be normal paid DLC or RBN2.0.

One of the band's founding members, Kasson Crooker (inspiration for the Duke of Gravity), works at Harmonix. He just left the band last year to focus on his day job as a Rock Band producer.

And here I was thinking my Freezepop knowledge was pretty good...

So they're gonna do another giveaway of 20 free tracks if you buy it new like they did with 2?

EA really gets butthurt about people buying used... Sheesh.
Here's some info on Pro Guitar, I found the screen shots most interesting.

RB3 is gorgeous!
Missing link please? I'm very very interested in Pro Guitar (tell me the price already HMX!)

I think this might be the link

Both are very interesting reads, thanks guys. As someone who (foolishly) went out and bought a guitar after the first GH came out, but didn't have the time for actual lessons (yay self taught smoke on the water... ugh) I'm really looking forward to pro mode.

It's only a MAYBE right now. Simply because the achievement list is at 1250 and the last 250 or so are all DLC related (including one for Nine Inch Nail's Perfect Drug, which came out like two years ago?). So maybe next few weeks we'll hear something, but also of note is the first 1000 listed were correct.
umm. they do:

I don't mean DLC or a track pack - I mean a full-fledged game like the beatles or green day. It worked for Karokee Rev., why not rhythm games?

I hope Toys R Us gets the keyboard bundle. I need something to use my $15 giftcard from DQIX on. I'm guessing they probably will stock it, because there's not going to be a mega bundle, right?

There's no word on fake guitars for RB3 - Are they coming out with a new one, or will you be forced to use RB2 guitars?

I don't see what improvements they'll make on RB2 drums, either.

I wish they'd patch the obvious songs (Final Countdown) for keys, but they won't. They probably won't patch all the synthpop, new wave, or dark wave in RBN stuff either. :(

Fired up the drums for the first time in 2 years and I'm rusty. I can only do lvl. 3 songs on hard. According to one of the videos on Rockbandaide, you'll be able to use 1-2 cymbals on RB3 pro drums. You'll be able to set it in the menus, so people who bought RB2 cymbals will be in good shape.

I bet they'll have to update the music store app. Hopefully that won't take forever.

Is there any news as to whether RB3 will support harmonies for Exported Green Day content?

So...did the October 26th release date for RB3 just sneak out onto the scene or what? I was looking through newegg.com when I saw that the keytar was available the 26th and I then looked over at Amazon which confirmed it.

This is pretty sweet; just a little more than a month away! Good stuff!

Not really. I think it was rumored for the last week of October for so long that when it was announced it was just kinda, "oh, okay, cool."

Since you're talking to someone who owns every single Karaoke Revolution title including country, let me give you my two cents.

Karaoke Revolution does everything wrong. Before all the songs were on different discs. Now with Xbox Live, you can download all the old songs, but they only work in certain titles. the songs available in the American Idol Encore 2 game do not work in American Idol Encore 1 which makes it quite confusing for the consumer.

Rock Band does everything right in terms of a karaoke/rhythm game. You should not have to switch discs, or load another game just to play different songs. I want everything available in the same game. Providing the consumers different download discs to export to the main Rock Band game is the best option in my opinion.

Nope. It's been known for awhile now.

I wish they would've made it a month earlier, or at least a month earlier on 360 like they did for RB2.

Do I REALLY need to buy the three pack of RB3 cymbals, or can I just buy the old RB2 2-pack?

I already bought the old RB2 2-pack some time ago, but one of the cymbals is....well, I've been hitting the ever-living crap out of it while I'm rockin' so it doesn't seem to be quite as responsive

So I was thinking that I could just spend $19.99 on 2 old ones instead of $39.99 on three new ones
