Rock Band series - Rock Band 4 out now

They somehow managed to avoid REM songs I'd buy even thought it's an 8 pack. What the hell. May get End of the World for "social gaming purposes" but that's about it.

Odd, I was thinking about why they still haven't had It's The End of The World in the game yet earlier this week and here it is. Probably jumping just on that one.

I'll probably pick it up too.

Dammit! I wish I would've known about the free 800pts thing. I DL'd about $25 worth of stuff in RB in Sept. :( At least the export will bring me closer to it.

What's the Frequency Kenneth is going to be so much fun. Another solid RB week. They have been doing a decent job washing the bad taste out of my mouth.

OMG

That T.Rex pack is godly.

I uses to sing Cosmic Dancer to myself all the time.

And if I haven't changed my sig, the quote comes from Children of the Revolution.

Jeepster is a rock classic of course.

Guess I was wrong further up the page - Joystiq says there will NOT be a keyboard/game bundle for the PS3 version. Weird. I wouldn't be shocked if at least one major retailer will sold it as a buy-them-together-at-a-discount bundle to match the 360 bundle price. Apparently it's 10 bucks more if you buy them separately.

The 2400 ms point 800 rebate program according to the link on the deals page said xbox live support mentioned that export costs don't apply towards the 2400 ms point rebate program.

Before you guys start to throw away points, be sure to realize that throwing away more than 800 points on crap you really don't want is pointless. Now if you've spent 1600 already then by all means blow the last 800 on anything you even kind of think you want; because that shit is free.

It seems like where ever I go people are just flipping shit at the idea of FREE M$ points that they are making dumb decisions.

Where did Ayreon get mentioned? I missed that one.

Down for these R.E.M. ones I guess, wish they would have just done the 'Eponymous' album since I really only like their IRS-era stuff.
R.E.M. – “Driver 8” +
R.E.M. – “It’s the End of the World As We Know It (and I Feel Fine)” +
R.E.M. – “Radio Free Europe” +

Axis: Bold As Love is probably the most fun album I've downloaded for RB. I love singing Jimi's stuff.

yeah, after i saw the spot on new character customization and even them walking up and down the cities they play in I was pretty amp'd.

d'oh, thanks :dunce:

So to anyone with the MCR pack, is it me or do the vocals sound...different. I'd hope that it is just the mix that was messed around with and that they didn't pull a papa roach and re-record the songs so that they could avoid paying their old drummer.

Rock Band Network releases will be listed below shortly. Check back soon!
Seems to be a mix of live and studio tracks from the various releases of "Are You Experienced". I guess "Fire" is live since the studio version is already in Lego Rock band. Not sure about "Hey Joe", though.

When they said "mix of live and studio tracks" I assumed we'd get the live version of Purple Haze from GHWT. Pretty cool that we get the studio version.

and instead we get the live version of Fire from Woodstock! WIN!
Anyone hear a rumor that all DLC that comes out after RB3 is only good for RB3?
That's not a rumor, it's a fact. It's already been stated numerous times that with all the features and what not that DLC after RB3 get (and soon enough once RBN gets updated) that you can only play it on that and not on any past iterations.
Well I'm getting RB3 anyway, so I guess that doesn't affect me. Has there been word on redoing any of the previous DLC?
So far all they've said is that ONE big name band from their DLC catalog will get updated (meaning with harmonies, pro guitar/bass, and keys). They haven't announced which or how they're going to do it, but more then likely with all the leaks it'll be some kinda patch to download. Though all the Pearl Jam DLC has harmonies in them though from the start in RB3, but that's as far as any new features on previous DLC. Well, besides all DLC from at least August 2008 or so having pro drums already being playable in the game.

What the fuck? I read this thread pretty much every day and I never saw that in here.

At least they haven't been releasing any "must have" shit for me in awhile, so it's not that bad, but I wasn't even planning on getting the game until it's down to around $30 because of what I've seen of pro-guitar so far.

at least half (or more) of the songs list in rb3 aren't worth it imo so i'll wait for a sale or price drop. good thing they're giving us the choice as to whether we want to pay extra for that +mode for those who want a harder challenge. Ah don't forget, you can pick up the 2 beatles albums for 2800 ms points ($30) and with the 800 points back you can get most of the songs for the sgt peppers album (which i'm doing) and since I already have 3 of the songs from the sgt peppers album the remaining songs will be cheaper for me. Either way, get those or rb dlc and you'll come out ahead either way for more content. Here's to hoping that pearl jam is that band that gets their dlc updated.

Really?

I think RB3 has the best setlist in a music game yet.

It's grown on me I got to admit. I Like the variety. Plus all the songs with actual keys support sound pretty damn fun.

More then anything, more I watch Arrested Development I realize "Cold as Ice" is easily one of the best additions ever.

+1

I've never been as excited for a music game's setlist as I am for this one.
Really?

I like some of the bands listed, but not the song selection for them. Plus, in rb2 not many people really had many dlc songs to play online and some barely even imported rb1. So i'll wait it out and I don't see anything yet to get me to buy the game immediately.

RB3 for me personally isn't as much about the setlist as much as the upgrades with the features and interface. I would buy RB3 if there wasn't even any music on the disc.

There's a rumor that "The Doors Free Launch Pack" was spotted in some nook on the Live Marketplace, consisting of "Light My Fire," "Riders On The Storm," and "Touch Me." This would be released on October 26th, with some regular paid Doors DLC coming shortly afterwards. This is awesome if it's true! :whee:

Yeah, RB3's setlist definitely falls short compared to the first two games, but I'm probably going to get it right away anyway just for the new features. Plus, with all the downloadable stuff available now, the on disc stuff has become pretty irrelevant to me. Once I'm done with the singleplayer mode I don't have to ever see any of it again if I don't want.

Speaking of which, can anyone tell me exactly what I'd need to use a "real" keyboard on this game? I was thinking about getting a regular keyboard soon anyway and, as long as I don't need to spend like 300 dollars on top of the cost of the keyboard itself to get it working with the game, I'll probably do it. Basically, what specification does the keyboard need to have, and what do I need as far as an adapter to get it to actually work with the game (and is there anything else I'm missing)?

Pretty awesome if true. Hopefully, "Roadhouse Blues" will be part of the paid DLC.

MIDI adapter (and a keyboard with a MIDI out). 30 bucks on Amazon, but doesn't ship till end of November (~ a month after RB3 comes out). Apparently will also be necessary if you intend on getting the pro guitar (the real one, not the button one). Also, HMX/Madcatz claims it will be compatible with most MIDI keyboards, but haven't released a final compatibility list. Not clear if it comes with a MIDI cable either, so may need to buy one separate from the adapter to connect the keyboard to the adapter.

Woman, Love Her Madly, Love Me Two Times, Peace Frog, People Are Strange, Roadhouse Blues, Soul Kitchen, and The Crystal Ship. I'm hesitant to comment too much on it due to the lack of good sourcing, but apparently the content has leaked somehow and was stumbled upon by some pirates.

I feel the same way. For me the setlist has its highs and its lows. It's almost like they spent so much for some songs (i.e. Imagine) that they were left with pennies for others. Also, I can't stand that they picked foriegn language tracks for disc content; leave that shit for DLC.
