Rock Band series - Rock Band 4 out now

RB3 pre-ordered. No keyboard, trying to hold out for the MIDI controller to use with an M-Audio unit I have.

Let me point out that the Hendrix DLC is not only the amazing Axis Bold as Love record, but they are super fun tracks to play. Highly recommended.

I'm surprised that future tracks are RB3 only when they clearly have the RB1/RB2 tablature included for the non-pro players. I'm a little disappointed if Harmonix isn't truly supporting the old platforms. I thought that we would be paying a small premium for pro content, rather than no option for the original style game play. Sorry if this was already addressed in thread. With 208 pages and counting, I'm not exactly jumping to read it all.

QFMFT!!!! It better feature at least 10 songs. My picks.

Piano Man
Only The Good Die Young
Scenes From an Italian Restaurant
Movin Out
We Didn't Start the Fire
It's Still Rock & Roll To Me
Uptown Girl
She's Always A Woman To Me
Big Shot
You May Be Right

Hell, even The Longest Time would be pretty fun for vocal harmonies.

Now I know why I wasn't excited about Billy Joel, Nate- I've only even heard of 3 of those songs.

STP and JEW look really good. But can someone please confirm or deny this? I just read that while the 3 free Doros tracks will have pro guitar, the 9 songs released as DLC on 11/2 will not. They will have pro drums and keys, but not pro guitar.

If that's true, I'm disappointed. I thought every DLC track released after Rock Band 3 hit stores would have pro guitar, keyboards, and drums.

You know more songs by Miley Cyrus than you do by Billy Joel. What is wrong with this picture? lol

Actually, I only know the lyrics to one song by Miley Cyrus. But you hear a lot more Miley than Billy Joel these days. I didn't say I didn't like Billy Joel; just that I've never heard or heard of most of those songs.

Perhaps they're able to go back and add pro-charts later? I guess that depends on whether or not pro-charts are truly downloaded separately or just an unlock.
Who is actually buying RB3 day (or week) 1?

Wasn't going to originally, but changed my mind.
I'm in!

I'm fine with them releasing songs with little to no guitar, but the guitar is kind of a big part of most Doors songs. It's just weird that they'd have pro drums, pro keys, and regular Rock band guitar, but no pro guitar. :whistle2:\

I don't hear any Miley Cyrus (Smelly Citrus?) anywhere, and I aim to keep it that way :)

Definitely excited about moar Rush!

Will be more excited for current Rush getting keys added. Hello Tom Sawyer and The Camera Eye.

Subdivisions is my favorite Rush song, and that would be perfect for the keytar. Here's to hoping that comes along!

I am having a hard time justifying buying rb3 because "pro" mode doesn't interest me and neither does keyboards. But if I want to keep updating dlc I guess I have to.

If that song never comes out, then they are dumb for not releasing it. Would be a blast on keytar.

Blah, the old DLC and on-disc music is still compatible with 3 then right? Either way, I'm holding off on RB3, not enough interest to warrant the jump.

Sad I can't download anything new after STP though.

I think most people who buy the Stan Bush version are going to get the Dirk Diggler version at their next Rock Band party thanks to a drunken friend who insist that he can sing the song better than Stan Bush did.:lol::lol:

So buying The Touch! Now just to make new friends that actually want to play it (or know it) instead of the same 1 and 2 tier songs EVERY TIME we get together, lol.

Hoping to get RB3 day one. I've ordered the keys bundle from Buy.com and it shipped, so hopefully it will arrive in time for me to get the free doors content. Crossing my fingers it gets here before 10/26.
I bought it, I didn't even look at the price. Takes me back to watching Transformers movie in the theater as a kid.
Ditto. When I saw it was avaliable there was no hesitation.

Plus as much as I love Harmonix and all, but Jesus the way they're shipping things out I can already tell is going to be a clusterfuck. Specifically nothing really having a date outside the game and the Mustang suppose to come out in mid November now according to most retailers. Pretty sure most people who heard about the features were thinking on launch, but they give little info besides the damn keys.

Was definitely under the impression that the Mustang would be available at launch and the Squier in late November/early December. Just saw today that this is not so.
Has there been any info on the RB2 export, either the songs that are included or what it'll cost?
The rumor right now so far is some of the Red Hot Chili Peppers stuff may not make it, specifically Give It Away and possibly Dani California.

That and early release copies of the game the songs that are missing OVERALL include Tenacious D: Rock Your Socks, Soundgarden: Black Hole Sun, Anvil pack, Dinosaur Jr 2-song pack, Who 2-song pack and two other unknown songs. Though this maybe patched up on launch so as of right now this is POSSIBLE worse case scenario.

I Notice I'm usually the one to always immediately answer any Rock Band questions here...

Oh, ok; I don't really give a shit about RHCP so that's ok with me.

What do you mean the early release copies of the game though? The people that were lucky enough to get RB3 noticed those songs were missing?

What else would it mean? Yeah, some people have gotten the keyboard bundle already. Apparently Newegg shipped out a bunch early since the keyboard wasn't street-dated like the game.

Some value in the metadata was mistakenly set to zero, and that's causing it to not be seen by RB3. There was a slight panic because it looked like a new precedent was being set for blocked DLC, but since it's clearly just a glitch I'm sure the situation will be remedied.

Removing stuff from the RB1 export is an unfortunate surprise though. :whistle2:( At least those songs have been played to death already.

Any links?

1 or 2 songs missing and it's no big deal, but I prefer the RB1 song list to RB3.

Dani California and Black Hole Sun were the only ones reported missing - apparently 53 songs show up if you sort by game and select Rock Band 1.

I'd think the bundled keyboard would be ok for your lap, but if you have the disposable income it would be nice to have the stand, or at least something to put it on.

I'm not getting one since I plan on upgrading to a full keyboard eventually and don't want to invest in a stand for the bundled one.

On a related note, the midi adapter that you need for midi drums, full keyboards & the upcoming Squier guitar controller is on sale for 30 bucks on Amazon. http://www.cheapassgamer.com/forums/showthread.php?t=275042
So, think it'll be ok playing keyboard on your lap? Or will it be worth the money to get the keyboard stand?
Just get one of those small tables that's normally used for eating in front of the TV over at Wal*Mart for about $10 or so. Make sure it comes up to a comfortable height for your wrists(if you have to slouch, it's too short).:cool::cool:

I Believe it was from the Rock Band forums from the people who were able to find the game 3 weeks early somehow.

But but...I like Dani California :hot:

I bet they'll be a patch for Dani California and Black Hole Sun.

I'm conflicted on where to buy RB3.

I have a $15 giftcard for Toys R Us (Will they even get the bundle?)

Supposedly they're giving a $15 giftcard if you buy the keyboard and game at Best Buy (no word on the bundle), + I have a $15 RZ cert for Best Buy

I pre-ordered the bundle at Lamestop (I really want Blue Monday)

No one knows yet. But you need Rock Band 1 to export those songs. Most likely Rock Band 2 will have to have some sort of verification system (disc or code from the manual).
Wonder if they can use the same code as the 20 free song dlc rb2 came witho
I'd like this. Re-purpose the code and put the 20 tunes up separately on the marketplace. This would give everyone a chance to grab the 1-2 songs the like and drop the other 18-19. I'd even be down for charging for them.

For me it's all about getting it as soon as possible. So I will be picking mine up at walmart at midnight. Might not be any cool giftcards, but at 1201 I should have my copy, hopefully with a keyboard, and home playing it by 1220.

Thought about getting it at Walmart, but the 24 hr one here is pretty poor with game releases. I don't know if I'd be able to pick it up at midnight, even if I preordered with their ship-to-store program. So I just ordered it at Gamestop. My keyboard arrived from Newegg today, which makes the wait even harder.

The major problem I see with this method is that many people could have lost their manual. Then there'll have to be an alternative method to deal with that, in which case, they might as well go with the alternative method for everyone.
