Thanks to Skube and Oxidative for this coupon. Important things to note-- this will make games ten dollars or under free, but it's advised to buy another item, such as a pack of gum.

This thread is for clearance-- not for sale items. Price reductions for clearance seem to happen on Monday, although not every Monday. Target often donates its older clearance titles to Goodwill stores, so keep that in mind when you're trying to find items. BigDirty: "Further reduction is possible when a game's price ends with 8 cents. However, when it ends in 4 cents it will NOT drop anymore. If it ends in 9 cents, it's just on sale or on a non-clearance reduction."

When posting deals, please include game, system, price, city and state. For example:

Here is a fairly easy way to check your local Target's pricing-- often price tags will not be correct. Thanks to BigDirty for this:
1) Go to Half.com or a similar site. Search for the game to locate its UPC code number. It's in the gray box underneath the box art graphic.
2) Go to UPC Data ,Milk.com , or UPC Database and enter the code so you can print out the UPC. Go to Target and use the price scanners to scan your printouts.

Thanks to Mephitical for this tool for locating clearance titles, which is located here. Go to Amazon or Target to find the item's ASIN. When you find it, replace "B000O3IS48" in the URL with your item's ASIN. This will take you to a page asking you for your zip code. Type in your zip code and click enter-- this will display a list of local stores and whether or not they have your item in stock. YMMV on it working properly.

The lowest known price will be posted. The item could be higher or lower at your store.

Just check the price at any scanner. Some Targets take longer to bring the price down to what you see posted here. They all eventually get to that price unless they run out of stock or salvage the game.

If you see a game behind the glass, just ask to get a price check. Don't forget to use the $5 coupon for even more savings.

Also, make sure that you always read the OP.

Local Target had a bajillion Simpsons at $12.50 for the 360... no clue why nobody is buying this, since it seems every game, no matter what it is, gets scooped up ASAP at the 75% mark.

Weird for a halfway decent game to still have at least 8 copies in the glass case at $12.50... needless to say, I picked one up, since I had gotten it for $25 a few weeks earlier but regretted it (and returned it), knowing it would go down further.

I think its a Michigan thing. I am in Kalamazoo and my brother is in Grand Rapids and I/We rarely find anything good. Most is gone too quickly or they sell it out at the normal price. It is frustrating as hell. I still check though, every week.

I'm waiting for the Target on La Cienega to drop The Simpsons. They are a price drop behind the Culver City Target which had Viva Pinata, and PG4 for 7.48 and 12.48, but no Simpsons.

People mention stuff like that all the time in the Sears and even Kmart thread too. While I also don't condone flipping multiples of games(cept for cheap shit that no one seemed to want, like the Clancy Triple Pack for Xbox), if it gets someone else games for super cheap, who are we to complain about it?

Sure, they may deprive other people(perhaps even other CAGs) of those deals, but if those other people and CAGs had looked at the stores they had bought those games from in the first place, they might have done the same with the flipping and then the roles would be reversed.

To me, as long as I get a game and get it cheap, even if I don't get EVERY game I wanted cheap, then I'm fine with it anymore.

Thing is that most of the time it DOES rob other CAGs of getting games they want. I've seen several games (like Ninja Gaiden Sigma) that other CAGs had mentioned they grabbed several of, yet it was one of the most sought after games, here. I, myself, probably will have a hell of a time tracking down Lair.

It's a fine line, though. I can't really down someone for it, cause I've done it too, but I try to do it with stuff nobody's buying anyway (based off stock and opinions of other CAGs). Essentially, if we're getting a newer game, we should just wait for it to hit clearance, or get a deal on it the regular way.

With that in mind, I guess the best strategy is just don't rape something you know another CAG will want.

At my local Target, there is one Clearance end cap where they stick PC games with other stuff. In the past, I found it along with audio CD's and books on clearance and now in an endcap along with iPod accessories. They are marked down/orange tagged as is.

PC games, I see them update every week but for console games, unfort. I haven't seen them doing it weekly.

But noticed that with the PC games, they keep even more of the clearanced games on the PC aisle. So, you'll need to check there too for PC games.

This is for PC games:

Agatha Christie - 2 pack now down to $4.99 (not bad considering I bought these for $9.99 each last year).
The newer Agatha Christie came at $4.99
Supreme Commander - $13.99 (this sold quickly)
Enemy Forces Quake Wars (I know I probably got the title wrong) but this sold quickly this past monday when it went down to $4.99.

For console, mainly the movie-based games like the Golden Compass and Happy Feet on clearance and no one is buying. Along with a few DS games.

I did see Naruto for X360 still at $24.99, Stranglehold's finally all sold and saw one more which I can't think of right now...

I was happy but not-really-so-happy when I found Narutuo for 14.98 (Tempe Marketplace in AZ, this store also had PGR4 for 14.98 and Party Animals for 7.48) and then The Simpsons Game (Power and McKellips in Mesa, AZ also had every 360 sports game for its lowest price and Party Animals also for 7.48) for 12.48. The not so happy part is because I keep getting tempted with deals when I'm saving for a house. I of course bought them. I'll build a house out of games if I have to.

He said that if a store is ahead of its markdown schedual they just jump to the next and could be marking down a few days before. I have never seen these lowest prices that others have. Ninja Gaiden Sigma stayed in the case for months and never dropped below $40. I could never find Folklore for $15. They had tons of copies of Shadow of the Colossus for $15 last week but now they are gone. Jerico is STILL in the case for $25. I think my Target stores in my area will give these to the goodwill before they reach the minimum price that others are getting. It is really frustrating when I see these great deals posted but the are NEVER available at my stores.

In the past, one of my Targets would never sell a clearance game below 50% off. If there were any left after 50% off they would send the rest to Goodwill. Thankfully, they eventually started to allow the clearance games to go to 75% off before sending to Goodwill, and I've been able to have some pretty good pick-ups.

PC -- nobody buys PC games in my area, so AAA titles usually go clearance fast and hard. But yeah, def PC version (i got a barrage (okay, 2) PMs asking me to pick it up if it was the ps3 version)
