(Part I) The Target clearance thread

This thread is for clearance-- not for sale items. Price reductions for clearance seem to happen on Monday, although not every Monday, but could also occur any day of the week depending on your store's price change team. Target often donates its older clearance titles to Goodwill stores, so keep that in mind when you're trying to find items. BigDirty: "Further reduction is possible when a game's price ends with 8 cents. However, when it ends in 4 cents it will NOT drop anymore. If it ends in 9 cents, it's just on sale or on a non-clearance reduction."

When posting deals, please include game, system, price, city and state. For example:
Debbie Does Skywalker, Xbox 360, $4.98
Mesa, AZ Power Road at Superstition Springs

Here is a fairly easy way to check your local Target's pricing-- often price tags will not be correct. Thanks to BigDirty for this:
1) Go to Half.com or a similar site. Search for the game to locate its UPC code number. It's in the gray box underneath the box art graphic.
2) Go to UPC Data ,Milk.com , or UPC Database and enter the code so you can print out the UPC. Go to Target and use the price scanners to scan your printouts.

Thanks to Mephitical for this tool for locating clearance titles, which is located here. Go to Amazon or Target to find the item's ASIN. When you find it, replace "B000O3IS48" in the URL with your item's ASIN. This will take you to a page asking you for your zip code. Type in your zip code and click enter-- this will display a list of local stores and whether or not they have your item in stock. YMMV on it working properly.

The lowest known price will be posted. The item could be higher or lower at your store.

i checked up on timshift for 360 this past weekend and it went down to 19.xx and loz tp for gc was 12.xx one more drop and ill grab them.

It didn't have a sticker on it but it scanned at $14.99. It had the same DCPI as Rainbow Islands: Revo, so I think it's a mistake. YMMV?

Given the language on the scanner I think the two titles just share a SKU. They've done this in the past with cheap DS titles. I think it was the Garfield game and something else.
 
The Legend still lives as I've picked up 2 Harry Potter OotP($7.48) and I'm in the process of getting yet another Viva Pinata($9.98) right now. The "retired" coupon does still scan, as I've used it on the games I've mentioned. I just wait for them to put all of the items in the bag and total it up, then hand them the coupons. I get no hassles either. I use expired coupons for groceries too when they scan still.
 
Snagged The Club for $10 today after using the $5 off coupon.
Heavenly Sword down to $30 finally. Hoping there's a copy left when it hits $15 in a week or two.

Continuing my Dancing With The Stars :wii: updates that I know everyone cares so much about:
Down to $14.98 today, still too much for me. I actually hid a copy, mostly so that I could say that the first game I ever hid was Dancing With The Stars so that I could get it for $7.48 and dance to The Final Countdown.

The store I stopped at during lunch had nothing new. Heavenly Sword was still $29.xx I'll hit another store on the way home and post if I find anything.
 
I hope The Club dropped at my store. I hid 3 copies two weeks ago when it was $29.98. They were at that price for at least a month. Last week I came back and they found my 3 copies and put them back in the end cap. However, there was only one copy left still at $29.98.

There are two copies at another Target that dropped to $29.98 from $41.98. Saw HS for $41.98 also. Hid all of them. Hopefully no one finds them for another two weeks lol.

Hiding more than one copy is really lame. It denies everyone, even CAGs, the chance to find the game. I'm sure others are going to share in this sentiment.

I know some people get really fancy, but depending on how much traffic your clearence area gets sometimes its a simple as hiding behind other games or turning them around so all people see is the non-labeled side, some people don't bother to turn them around
 
I kind of new to this but where do I get the coupons from to work at Target? I go to Target where I'm at and I sometimes find good deals but not always. I saw the Club there but still at full price.:cry:
 
Apparently the F1 World Championship Edition for the PS3, that alot of people were getting for like $9.98 a few months ago, is now rare. Used copies on ebay and amazon both are fetching over $30.
 
I almost picked up a pink and blue battery for $3 each but realized I really didn't need them.


I also can confirm The Club PS3 has dropped to roughly $15 like other people have posted.
 
Picked up a Blue and Pink rechargable 360 controller batteries for 3$. Slim picking's everywhere else, but maybe some stuff will available tonight at my other targets.

That's why I sold 2 of them this week! I was wondering why they sold. I had them up for trade on CAG, but now I am out of them. You can pick them up at most WM for 39.96 as well as Ninja Gaiden Sigma, if anyone is still looking for it.

30+ copies of timeshift gone in a week.... i doubt they were purchased (27.98) so i guess they took them off the endcap and replaced them with GC games and GBA games... X-Men Legenes II was one of em... and they got rid of the gamecubes which never hit lower than 24.98
 
All the DK: BB have disappeared in the Targets I've checked. Two of them had it at $34.98 and another had them at $24.98. I wonder if the Target that had them at $24.98 dropped them to $12.48 because last I checked they had 5 copies. Forgot cell in car and couldn't check DCPI to see if it dropped. Doesn't matter anyway since none were to be found.

Nothing else worth mentioning. Target pretty much cleaned out except for THPG 360.
 
I used my "treasure map" and went and found The Club that I stashed a few weeks ago and got it for $14.98.

I also saw that Heavenly Sword is now down to $29.98 so I left that in my spot and will wait for it to hit that magical $14.98 spot.

I also saw NBA2k8 at $19.98 now and Ballers: Chosen One at $29.98. Also MX VS ATV Untamed was at $29.98. Stashed one of those for later.

As for Xbox 360 I saw Soldier of Fortune down to $29.98 and THPG down to $19.98 as was Timeshift.

I also scored two free copies of COD2. Good filler for the GS trade in stuff. Not a bad day overall.

Yea, the only thing I saw that hasn't been mentioned was Solider of Fortune for 360 @ $41 which doesn't seem like much of a deal considering I saw it for $39 @ BB today as well.

Club PS3 was $15. Heavenly Sword dropped to $29.xx at another store but nowhere did it drop under that and actually there were alot fewer copies of that than there were last week so I'm not sure that I'll find a copy at $15 if it ever drops to that.

One last thing I noticed was that the games that were universal price drops a couple weeks back were finally reflected on the shelf tags @ Target. (Skate, Burnout Paradise, Dark Sector, NFS: Pro Street, Orange Box-360 version). If you can get them to take the $10 coupon along with the $5 coupon $25 on these games doesn't seem like a bad deal.

price is as is, but also the front pages lists the lowest price and is YMMV. take the game to a scanner and see what it rings up as.

I'll be checking Target tomorrow morning for myself but an errant copy of Heavenly Sword has been sitting there for the past three weeks at $30. It seems about prime time for it to hit $15 if it's still there, so I'll post back if it still exists and if my Target actually dropped it.

In that case, of course, we could set up a trade. ;)

Otherwise, don't get too thrilled yet. My Target loves hanging on to those $30 initial drops for at least a month and the locals freak out and buy it after two or three weeks because it just can't get any lower! Those poor, poor people...
 
LOL My local Target had one of those Magnavox or whatever brand LCD tv's(19 inch), which was ringing up .00 in the system, but I had not ONE cent on me that night or I'd have taken it to the main registers and tried to find a bored cashier to try and get it for like $15-20 or something.

It's always my luck too, to not have $$$$ on me when I find something I could try and grab for some made up price. Oh and thanks in advance Kapwanil, if they have that game there for $15, I'd definitely love to get it.
 
some targets around here are doing some reset.

guess that will take some time before i see new mark-downs. especially on toys.

if it's clearance, most likely it's in some random box, end cap, or aisle somewhere and not behind the glass. for a clearance item, which is normally something you just want to sell to get rid of and start fresh, they sure make it hard to find and buy.

Got a copy of "THE CLUB" PS3 - $15.00 - They were all out of Heavenly Sword so Im glad I picked it up at $30.00, it was one I really did not want to miss and with how "THE ORANGE BOX" went I was not going to risk it. Also scored a copy of the very hard to find "SHOOTER" on Blu Ray. Was shocked to come across that one.

Does anybody know what day target does the markdowns?
