This thread is for clearance-- not for sale items. Price reductions for clearance seem to happen on Monday, although not every Monday, but could also occur any day of the week depending on your store's price change team. Target often donates its older clearance titles to Goodwill stores, so keep that in mind when you're trying to find items. BigDirty: "Further reduction is possible when a game's price ends with 8 cents. However, when it ends in 4 cents it will NOT drop anymore. If it ends in 9 cents, it's just on sale or on a non-clearance reduction."

When posting deals, please include game, system, price, city and state. For example:

Here is a fairly easy way to check your local Target's pricing-- often price tags will not be correct. Thanks to BigDirty for this:
1) Go to Half.com or a similar site. Search for the game to locate its UPC code number. It's in the gray box underneath the box art graphic.
2) Go to UPC Data ,Milk.com , or UPC Database and enter the code so you can print out the UPC. Go to Target and use the price scanners to scan your printouts.

Thanks to Mephitical for this tool for locating clearance titles, which is located here. Go to Amazon or Target to find the item's ASIN. When you find it, replace "B000O3IS48" in the URL with your item's ASIN. This will take you to a page asking you for your zip code. Type in your zip code and click enter-- this will display a list of local stores and whether or not they have your item in stock. YMMV on it working properly.

The lowest known price will be posted. The item could be higher or lower at your store.

Target Employee: "Sorry, we can't take the $5 Coupon printout, but that other one seemed to worked fine! Funny the expiration date must be wrong? That will be zero cents, have a nice day."

My target still has a load of playstation eyes on the main PS3 accessories display at full price! My friend bought one for $10 clearance at one about 20 minutes away.
Any ideas for how to get them to price match? If I took his receipt in would they match their own price?

A store can pull a coupon anytime. There is fine print to that effect on the coupon. So, I'm not following your scenario.

Yeah the last two Targets I've been too had MX vs ATV for $15 and all the Heavenly Swords are gone. Must have been nabbed at $30. No notices of the $5 not working but I didn't try it today either. Very scant selection at my Targets sadly

Target sends a nationwide message about the banning of the $5 coupon, all while the real scamming culprit -$10 off 360 coupon- continues it's crusade to extend your gaming dollar.

...Target is slightly misguided in it's aim to remove the $5 coupon. Yes, it could be used on any merchandise, but in the end it was only -at most- 20% off. Whereas the $10 off 360 coupon essentially made (and is still making) some games 100% off. In the end, Target forgets to nab the dark horse.

Was advised of the coupon deactivation when I tried to use it this morning. They had a single advisory over by the recall notices.

Went to another, and it was posted with the weekly ad at the entrance, and at every single register in plain sight.

The picture had the regular coupon on the left, and a photoshopped version on the right with the picture and the word 'Toy' removed. So someone altering the coupon probably alerted management.

Dang, seems like HSword dropped at most Targets to $15...still $30 at mine and has been there for at least 3-4 weeks now. I would assume next Monday....oh well.

why must people alter these things....if it scans fine then just YMMV and if u get shot down then no biggie and then try another store or cashier but buttsmugglers like this have now KILLED THE COUPON for everyone....i'll bet it's not a true CAG and a SD'er or FW'er!!!! Also, p-l-e-a-s-e stop talking about and using the other expired coupon....any who are doing this are just killing future coupons that Target will say, "oh we better not put out that coupon cuz it'll be abused by buttsmugglers!!!"

It's posted on Target by my work in Long Beach, CA and at home, Irvine, CA.. so the $5 coupon is no longer good because somebody altered the toys portion of it...

If they do accept the "toys" coupon, it will be much harder to use since all the employees are now aware of the coupon. We're now back to trying to convince them that VGs are "toys" and not electronics. I used this coupon many, many times and was denied only twice.

Although not as good as the 360 coupon, it was good while it lasted.

I know I'm late, but I can also confirm this as I work at Target. In the posting on StoresWorkBench, the guests who were originally sent the coupon in the mail will receive a $5 GiftCard to use instead of the now banned coupon. Meh.

In other news, nothing of interest dropped or was found at my store and the one down the road. This is a good thing, as I'm spending waay too much money on stuff now.

I can't imagine it going lower than that. I just wish I could find it at one of the Target's in my area. There are a lot of games that are too short to warrant a $60 price point. But once they dip into the sub-$20 realm, I'm more than willing to pick them up. I got StrangleHold the other day for $15 at a BestBuy clearance bin. I would have never bought it at full price.
