This thread is for clearance-- not for sale items. Price reductions for clearance seem to happen on Monday, although not every Monday, but could also occur any day of the week depending on your store's price change team. Target often donates its older clearance titles to Goodwill stores, so keep that in mind when you're trying to find items. BigDirty: "Further reduction is possible when a game's price ends with 8 cents. However, when it ends in 4 cents it will NOT drop anymore. If it ends in 9 cents, it's just on sale or on a non-clearance reduction."

When posting deals, please include game, system, price, city and state. For example:

Here is a fairly easy way to check your local Target's pricing-- often price tags will not be correct. Thanks to BigDirty for this:
1) Go to Half.com or a similar site. Search for the game to locate its UPC code number. It's in the gray box underneath the box art graphic.
2) Go to UPC Data ,Milk.com , or UPC Database and enter the code so you can print out the UPC. Go to Target and use the price scanners to scan your printouts.

Thanks to Mephitical for this tool for locating clearance titles, which is located here. Go to Amazon or Target to find the item's ASIN. When you find it, replace "B000O3IS48" in the URL with your item's ASIN. This will take you to a page asking you for your zip code. Type in your zip code and click enter-- this will display a list of local stores and whether or not they have your item in stock. YMMV on it working properly.

The lowest known price will be posted. The item could be higher or lower at your store.

You know, Target does sell other stuff like food at decent prices. It isn't like a trip to GS for nothing if all they sold was video games. You do have to shop in B&M stores for something else once in a while don't you? Combine the trip

Found what I believe to be the last couple copies of Heavenly Sword in the Sac area at Target (according to the DPCI check I ran last week at customer service.) They FINALLY dropped to $14.98 so I FINALLY picked em up.

Why do you need 4 copies of HS? There are a couple of us in the MD area that would like a copy, 4 I think is a bit much.

Yes, as I said there were TWO (=couple) copies. I picked them both up. One for me, one for a fellow CAG here in the area. I would hardly call someone who picks up two copies of a game a hoarder.

Anyway I noticed some DS games down to $7.48 today the Jackass UMD's down to 3.48

Picked up one of only two copies of MX VS. ATV @$14.98 on 20th ave. in Queens NY today. One left as of about 3pm. I found it on an endcap full of ps2 Kingdom Hearts I think. Also grabbed NCAA Football 08 for $4.98. I did not even see any copies of HS.

i did not check the price but i think the rack tag said $19.99.. It was dark over there and I only glanced at them, But it was KH2. I can't promise you but I don't recall them being red labels. They did have a ton tho, the whole rack.

Last week a Target in my area had two $30 Heavenly Sword

This week it FINALLY dropped to $14.XX and I got the last one.

They had ATV and some Basketball game left at $14.XX for PS3 and I left those....very happy I didn't cave last week and buy Heavenly Sword. CAG is the best website known to man.

Huh? This is the most active Target clearances have been in months after the spring dry spell. While we are at the end of a major run, we're not far away from a pre-holiday clearance batch which (at least at my stores) has happened mid-September.

Do the games have to be manually marked down at each store? The copy of Heavenly Sword I hid is stuck at $29.98 (tag and scan) while others (MX vs. ATV) have gotten new stickers and dropped to $14.98.

Yea I have been noticing that too. Too expensive to be on the clearance shelf and not only that a bit too big for such a small camera. The box itself feels very empty, like someone took out the camera and left the packaging inside. I would feel sorry for those who buy it and find out the camera is missing!

Hmmm I just picked that ( NCAA 08 Football) up today for $4.98 marked down from $19.99. the red sticker under that said WAS$19.99 down to $9.98. Mabey a YMMV? Did you get it scanned?

Last time I tried that they told me it was a new item they had just gotten in and that is why it wasn't in the system yet. I told them it was clearance and they told me I was wrong and it wasn't a clearance item

I did that at K-mart once the label thing. The young man took some time with it because it was not in the system. He came back with a price that I already knew was the last known non-one cent price ( Clearance). All was good . I guess it really depends on the store/time of day and the associate you get and how busy they are.

It's not on sale, it's on clearance. So yes, it is still marked down and will be until they take it out of the system and ship any remaining copies back to the warehouse or Goodwill or something.

this is a clearance thread... all games we discuss in here are on CLEARANCE, not on sale. With all clearance items you have to find a target that still has whatever it is you are looking for in stock, and hope the price is low.
