(Part I) The Target clearance thread

This thread is for clearance-- not for sale items. Price reductions for clearance seem to happen on Monday, although not every Monday, but could also occur any day of the week depending on your store's price change team. Target often donates its older clearance titles to Goodwill stores, so keep that in mind when you're trying to find items. BigDirty: "Further reduction is possible when a game's price ends with 8 cents. However, when it ends in 4 cents it will NOT drop anymore. If it ends in 9 cents, it's just on sale or on a non-clearance reduction."

When posting deals, please include game, system, price, city and state. For example:
Debbie Does Skywalker, Xbox 360, $4.98
Mesa, AZ Power Road at Superstition Springs

Here is a fairly easy way to check your local Target's pricing-- often price tags will not be correct. Thanks to BigDirty for this:
1) Go to Half.com or a similar site. Search for the game to locate its UPC code number. It's in the gray box underneath the box art graphic.
2) Go to UPC Data ,Milk.com , or UPC Database and enter the code so you can print out the UPC. Go to Target and use the price scanners to scan your printouts.

Thanks to Mephitical for this tool for locating clearance titles, which is located here. Go to Amazon or Target to find the item's ASIN. When you find it, replace "B000O3IS48" in the URL with your item's ASIN. This will take you to a page asking you for your zip code. Type in your zip code and click enter-- this will display a list of local stores and whether or not they have your item in stock. YMMV on it working properly.

The lowest known price will be posted. The item could be higher or lower at your store.

I got it for $11-ish from CC and returned it after reading reviews of it. I think it's $19.99 new now.
 
Someone earlier in the thread mentioned Zelda: Twilight Princess (GameCube version, not the Wii version) for $12.48. I just saw a post at another message board earlier today confirming the same thing. Since Target seems to do clearance items on a store-by-store basis, it may only work in Miami Beach (where the guy is from; he didn't say which Target store it was at). Unfortunately I can't confirm as I am in Minnesota. But I'll be checking my own local Target soon (it's not in a very convenient location for me).

Worth checking out. TP for the GameCube has a very good resale value, so it might be worth looking even if you don't have a GameCube or a Wii.

Had American Idol for 35 bucks at one Target and for 25 bucks at another Target. Obviously, I opted for the 25 dollar one. :) Also saw the 360 Family Pack for 15, which I picked up for 5 dollars.
 
The Stellhorn Target in Fort Wayne had bupkiss that I saw. They did American Idol behind the glass case but nothing else really of note...

You mean the MediaBoard Pro right, with the built in mousepad on it? I wonder what it'd cost to ship from TX to PA, since my local Target had one which disappeared before I found out it was priced at even $19.98.

Guys, I hit the Union and Clifton targets today. Clifton had very little. I brought about three games up to price check and they were nothing to write home about. For example I checked the price of NCAA football for the 360 and it was 19.99. Lego indiana somehow got mixed in with the clearance games but it scanned for 49.99. Honestly, I forget what the 3rd game was I scanned. As for the Union target, it was even worse. Oblivion for the ps3 rang up at 29.99. Eye of Judgment rang up at full price also. American Idol KR rang up at 49.99. No heavenly sword at either target. Also no wireless ps3 keyboards at either target.
 
went to the Target in Tempe Marketplace in AZ. they didn't have anything I could see accept a few American Idol Karaoke Revolution games for the 360. I attempted to buy it using $10 coupon and was denied. Tried the $5 coupon was denied. The guy said that I have to print the whole page with the rest of the website on there. Basically all the Target's around me have informed their employees not to accept these coupons under any circumstances. I've heard every excuse possible.

yes its the one with the touchpad mouse. Sorry for not being clear about that, I had to try and remember what I saw there. I'll pick one up today, I'm sure if you decide you don't want it someone might like it.
 
Perhaps you could inform a poor noob about this :p I went today all excited by the prices, but found very, very few of the games listed here the price they are listed here. Most were still retail, some were on sale, and some (The ones I don't want such as american idol and stuff) were the right price.

For example, first thing I picked up was Flight Simulator Deluxe, but it was full retail price of $50 :(

I can confirm that the NBA2k8 for ps3 is 28.98 at the stores I live closest too! Anyone have any extra copies of FEAR or Motorstorm they would sell for a decent price.

I just found out by searching Amazon, that the keyboard weighs 5 pounds. Damn, that's a heavy keyboard to try and ship. I'm going to do some calculating on the USPS website and see what the cheapest rate is to ship this thing, since I don't really care when I get it, as long as I'm not paying like $12 for shipping.

EDIT: Damn, the cheapest rate(if ya figure the weight being like 7 pounds with 2lbs of packaging) is $10.98 for flat rate box and I'm not even sure if it'd fit in one of those. I guess I'm gonna have to go without the keyboard, unless I can somehow get someone @ Target to say they have em in stock and PM to CC which has 2 of them in stock.

I find ups shipping alot cheaper for stuff that is on the heavy side. I shipped something 7lb today for about 8 bucks

Bought games I passed up on, Viva Pinata and Call of Duty 2 Platinum/Special Edition both were marked down to 13.98, but used 10 dollar coupon. NOTE: I did separate transactions since my mom was with me to be safe and she was paranoid. I am going to another Target again since my copy of DOA4 I bought the other day has a slight problem w/ the case.

Snagged MotorStorm for PS3 for $14.98, even though it was tagged $24.98! Last one too! They had about 20 LoZ TP for Gamecube, still marked at like $30

Nothing good at my Target. 1 Genji (PS3), A couple PSP games (nothing special), and Tomb Raider for Wii. Thats it.

They have Heavenly Sword at my local Target, but it's still in the case with NO sign of being on clearance.

I'm hoping this is the start of a new trend, where they put the games on clearance and keep them unmarked, but keep them in the damn case until the last week they're on clearance or the next to last week.

If they do it that way, I may actually FINALLY buy a PS3 game on clearance from Target without being beaten to it by fuckin' hoarders.
 
Has anyone tried the $5 off coupon recently? I'm thinking about using it tomorrow to snag TimeShift in conjunction with the $10 off 360 coupon. I just want to make sure that some locations are honoring it still.

Megaman ZX Advent for 14.98. A good pick up at 10 after coupon methinks. I'd like to hold out for 7.48, but I don't know if any other Targets have it. I'm probably going to go back tomorrow. I really want the game and it looks pretty rad.
It also kills me how many people complain their Target's pricing doesn't match the list in the OP when I have a disclaimer, underlined, at the top of the list pointing out it could be a different price.
But, good looking out and coming to my defense guys. I think that little underlined section has been referred to by like ten posters to the complainers.

Used it and the $10 coupon today. Both scanned fine.
 
I wish there was a way I could get CC to PM the $20 price Target by me had the PS3 keyboards for. But, knowing my luck they would mention that they're NOT IN STOCK and I'd be SOL.
