This thread is for clearance-- not for sale items. Price reductions for clearance seem to happen on Monday, although not every Monday, but could also occur any day of the week depending on your store's price change team. Target often donates its older clearance titles to Goodwill stores, so keep that in mind when you're trying to find items. BigDirty: "Further reduction is possible when a game's price ends with 8 cents. However, when it ends in 4 cents it will NOT drop anymore. If it ends in 9 cents, it's just on sale or on a non-clearance reduction."

When posting deals, please include game, system, price, city and state. For example:
Debbie Does Skywalker, Xbox 360, $4.98
Mesa, AZ Power Road at Superstition Springs

Here is a fairly easy way to check your local Target's pricing-- often price tags will not be correct. Thanks to BigDirty for this:
1) Go to Half.com or a similar site. Search for the game to locate its UPC code number. It's in the gray box underneath the box art graphic.
2) Go to UPC Data ,Milk.com , or UPC Database and enter the code so you can print out the UPC. Go to Target and use the price scanners to scan your printouts.

Thanks to Mephitical for this tool for locating clearance titles, which is located here. Go to Amazon or Target to find the item's ASIN. When you find it, replace "B000O3IS48" in the URL with your item's ASIN. This will take you to a page asking you for your zip code. Type in your zip code and click enter-- this will display a list of local stores and whether or not they have your item in stock. YMMV on it working properly.

The lowest known price will be posted. The item could be higher or lower at your store.

I know a couple of people were asking about this earlier so I figured I would pass it on. Turning Point Fall Of Liberty for the PC dropped to $7.48 at my local Target (so I grabbed one)

Huh? If you're referring to the $5 coupon, no one was altering it - Target put it out as a coupon on their server with no defined terms and made it auto-apply to any $25 purchase. Given that any use was a valid use, I'm not sure how you can say anyone was "screwed over". It actually seems odd to me that Target got agressive with this coupon - for the most part it was making people pad their purchases to reach the $25 mark and move more merchandise. (Yes, I am aware that there are other considerations with retail business models that I am ignoring)

some people were photoshopping out the 'toy' to make it more generic or messing with expiration dates to make it look more valid.

A target near me had like 6 of them but they were still marked at $41.98 and were behind the glass case still, so I didn't bother having them try to scan it.

Still marked $41.98 in Vancouver, WA and still scanning at $41.98.
 
Picked up MX vs ATV for PS3 for $14.98 and Bleach for DS for a mere $7.48. (Both available, see my List) Anyones Target have MLB 08 the Show for PS3 on Clearance yet? My Target only had the MX vs ATV game for PS3 as well as Tony Hawks PG for $19.98 for XB360.

I'm fairly certain the moment talk of modifying the coupon in any way to commit fraud occurred in the forum were removed without comment. The other conversation was about using expired coupons, I think any action on Target's part to not accept an expired coupon would be consistent with with the term "Expired", if they however choose to accept the coupon even though the coupon says expired, thats their choice. I think it's not uncommon for a retailer to accept expired coupons, it happens all the time for grocery coupons. I think the sticky fact in this particular case is the fact that the coupon was never actually meant to be copied. So I expect they thought the coupon would only get use for a short period as people used the copies provided in the weekly ad.

I'm puzzled how a store as sophisticated as target would not expire it's own coupons, I work in IT and I know these kinds of features are typically built into a system from the ground up. It was more likely a miscommunication between their marketing department and their IT department. Hopefully the mistake was to allow the coupon to be used until 2009 ;)

I had at least three transactions over the weekend using standard Super Target Web coupons that required manager intervention, because the cashiers claimed they were told not to take any coupons. This, despite the standard notice hanging on their register that looked nothing like the soda coupons I was trying to use.

Heck, one of the stores even advertises in the flyer window at the entrance that you can print the coupons at the Guest Service kiosk, has a sample printout on the blue paper, and the cashier and supervisor both wanted to deny my use.

Granted, I didn't have to resort to kicking magazine racks or deploying glitter, but it made me glad I didn't find any sub-$10 360 games to draw further suspicion.
 
Sad to hear about the death of the $5 coupon. As someone posted earlier, it is like losing a good friend. :cry: It is really sad that people had to alter a coupon that scanned regardless of what you were purchasing. Those people ruined it for everyone just because they got shut down one time by an anal cashier who wouldn't scan the coupon because they didn't have a "toy" in their cart. Wouldn't it make more sense to just try another cashier, or just bag it for the day? But to go home and spend time altering it is just sad. /end rant

With my Target being horrible with drops the past 3 or 4 Monday's, I think I am going to pass on hitting the local stores today. I might drop in later this week, or head out if anyone posts that they are finding good drops.
 
Nothing at all at mine... snagged a Viva Pinata family hits for 4.98 though. Wanting on NBA Ballers to drop to some sort of reasonable price.... IE 7.48
 
they actually HANG your games?! The 3 targets near me just have games laying on the shelf all the time. There is no organization what-so-ever, just stacks of games or like recently just a few games mixed in with VHS recordable tapes or the other junk on the shelf.

Picked up the last Viva Pinata in central NJ.
 
Well I actually did make a stop at Target at lunch since its right by the gas station I filled up at and I wish I wouldn't have. Absolutely nothing new and the clearance sections were barren... :cry:

That particular target has been hanging games for awhile now, the other two I visit though throw the clearance stuff up there like the unwanted trash it is to them.

Still $20.98 two days ago.

TRU has the PS2 version of the game bundle (/w pad) for $15.98 after 20% off clearance if you're interested. The PS2 version uses a dance pad (play with your legs) while the Wii version uses the remote (play with your hands).
 
I'm still waiting for Heavenly Sword to drop at mine. The one closest to me had a new round of drops, while the one that actually has HS hasn't dropped yet. The easiest example of this is that at one Beavis & Butthead are 7.98 and the other 3.XX. >_
 
I had to post this. Didn't see anything eles about it. My target today had signs on every register that said about the 10.00 coupon. Since people like to alter coupons we will no longer take this web coupon. Thank you. I kinda laughed about it. Its just funny the sign they put up. Why not just take the coupon out of the computers. Send a memo saying if you take a coupon that it has to be an actual coupon not a copy. Oh well.

I just got back from visiting the local Target and they have these big ass signs in the checkout lanes that clearly show that people where photoshopping the $5 dollar coupon to remove the word toy. I asked one of the cashiers and they told me they were getting a lot of the photoshopped ones that newer employees or ones that didn't know better were accepting. What really sucked is that I had over $20 dollars worth of toys I was buying for my nephews Bday that I was gonna use the coupon for.
 
Confirmed over at fairlakes, va. It's just simple computer paper print outs and nothing big. Did pick up Fall of Liberty for the PC at 7.xx other than that there is a DS magic card game still at 20.xx
 
Picked up Heavenly Sword for $14.98. Last Monday, they had 11 copies. On Friday, they had 4 copies($29.98). When I went in today there were none to be found. Luckily, I found a copy that someone had hid in the Blu-ray section. ;)

I scored HS a week ago... and boy am I glad I only got it at 15... not a fan of it, since playing DMC4 and MGS4 first... =P
 
Picked up American Idol Encore with mic for $12.48, which was the only current gen game on clearance besides the ATV game for PS3. PC clearance section is gone altogether.

I genuinely appreciate the information, but my PS2 is dead to me now. One day, I will finish the Aqua Teen Hunger Force game, but I haven't even hooked it up in the three months since we moved. I ended up being able to make it to my store, and it's still at $14.98. One of my two hidden copies was found though...
