This thread is for clearance-- not for sale items. Price reductions for clearance seem to happen on Monday, although not every Monday, but could also occur any day of the week depending on your store's price change team. Price adjustments on clearance are typically not allowed, but some have succeeded or have been able to do as return and rebuy. If you try be sure to bring a smile and a lollipop.

Target often donates its older clearance titles to Goodwill stores, so keep that in mind when you're trying to find items. BigDirty: "Further reduction is possible when a game's price ends with 8 cents. However, when it ends in 4 cents it will NOT drop anymore. If it ends in 9 cents, it's just on sale or on a non-clearance reduction." Also, note that, typically, games will drop three times-- from 30%, 50%, then to the final drop of 75% off of the original price. Some people, however, have seen further drops up to 85%.

When posting deals, please include game, system, price, city and state. For example:

Here is a fairly easy way to check your local Target's pricing-- often price tags will not be correct. Thanks to BigDirty for this:
1) Go to Half.com or a similar site. Search for the game to locate its UPC code number. It's in the gray box underneath the box art graphic.
2) Go to UPC Data ,Milk.com , or UPC Database and enter the code so you can print out the UPC. Go to Target and use the price scanners to scan your printouts.

Thanks to Mephitical for this tool for locating clearance titles, which is located here. Go to Amazon or Target to find the item's ASIN. When you find it, replace "B000O3IS48" in the URL with your item's ASIN. This will take you to a page asking you for your zip code. Type in your zip code and click enter-- this will display a list of local stores and whether or not they have your item in stock. YMMV on it working properly.

The lowest known price will be posted. The item could be higher or lower at your store. Numbers in yellow are DPCI numbers, which can be used to check the prices of items on newer scanners.

Well they are clearancing the 120gb drives right now, so they would be found on the clearance endcaps instead of in the vg section if they still have them. I'm guessing they are planning on selling the 60gb HDD Live starter pack @ $99 for the holidays which is a better price point for target shoppers.

If the drives you saw in your store are gone they might have shipped them to another store, which is something they tend to do with clearance items sometimes.

Or the hard drives are sitting in the back storeroom... I went to a location in SoCal today that 3 days before didn't have them on the shelf, and then after the refit/model they had them on the endcap at $125... If they were only $90...

My Target re-did the whole videogame section as mentioned and a ton of new stuff had gone onto clearance since my Monday run (although not too much exciting but I hadn't seen such a stuffed clearance area at this store in months)... the 1 HD at $125 was still there... I really don't need it but will be mad if I miss it at $90. I'll be there early Monday...

They had a TON of PS3 Ratchet and Clank at $41.98.. I'm hoping I can snag one at the next drop...

We probably won't see and good clearance prices until after Christmas as they take advantage of the Holiday Shopping Season. There will be clearance but they'll remain high priced and not come down as fast as they usually do. Unless of course the game sucks like Alone in the dark or Facebreaker.

The Parma, Ohio store moved all their games to one display. Ugh. They did have Pure ($29.98), Pirates of the Caribbean ($13.98), and a few other titles like DMC4 ($41.98) on the clearance rack. I did see Lego Indiana Jones still in the display shelf listed as $34.98, but scaning as $24.98. I will patiently wait and see if I can get it cheaper than $20 and I can wait.

Consider me lucky. I returned a $20.98 House of the Dead b/c i found it for $14.98. The cashier told me it was $7.98 now, and she let return and rebuy on the spot!

Also, i found the Intec Player's screen for $32.99,, but the speakers sound blown. Anyone else have this?

I picked up Silent Hill: Homecoming (PS3) for $41.98 tonight. I went looking for House of the Dead 2 & 3, but they didn't have any left. I'm pretty happy with my purchase so far though; however, I kind of wish I hadn't noticed it because I already spent around $41 each on Fallout 3, Little Big Planet, Fable 2, and Dead Space. I swear I'm done for now

I'm putting Gear of War 2 and Animal Crossing on my Christmas list, and that's that!

As I was checking out, the cashier asked me where I lived. I told him I lived around here and then he mentioned that I should check back in a couple days because the hard drives will be $45 soon. I then proceeded to pick up another one.

Same here with GoW 2 disc for 20. This is a really good game. Can't wait to finish it and pick up GoW 2.

I love being a cheapass too, but certain games warrant early purchases with me... and with the HV bonanza going on... I paid under 20 bucks for my new CE copy of GOW, and renewed my edge card and magazine sub as well with the credit I got for my games... so it is good to be a cheapass

Midway Arcade Treasures PSP: 7.48 (last one)
Final Fantasy Tactics PSP : 9.98 (I found one copy that was non-GH and it did ring up at the clearance price. They still had several GH versions left for 9.98. None of them were stickered with the clearance price.)
Xbox 360 Wireless Racing Wheel: 49.98 (stickered at 69.98-- last one)

They had a few other things like DMC4 for 360 and Elite Beat Agents, but I didn't check the prices of those.

I never got into He-Man but did enjoy some of the figures when they came out. But yes! I did buy it. Will watch it some time later. The packaging is fantastic....love the artist cards.

Your CSR may refuse and do a refund but make you wait until it is on the floor to buy it again. They also may give you the difference in cash or put it on a gift card.

No, all the prices are in the system when the registers and what-not boot up in the morning. The only mark-downs you see being done is employees scanning the see what has been marked down so they can tag it appropriately. I hate doing retail. >=(

Are you certain about that? When I worked at Target, I seem to remember checking an item in the morning and not seeing an update-- then one of the women in the price change team would let me know when they were hitting electronics. As far as I know, they have to process the price change (whether or not they find the item) Also, the fact the price changes occur on different days and can be on a sporadic schedule would seem to indicate that the price change team is doing something else other than retagging merchandise.

Exactly. Based on my experience, they have to manually process the price change. I was at the store a while back when the price change team members were updating the prices in the morning. I had a clearance item (EOJ) in my hand and it was registering in the price scanner at the older clearance price ($34). I went up to one of the price team members to ask if it had dropped. He took my item, checked his list to confirm the drop, did something with his scanning gun, and then the item registered at the lower clearance price ($17), so I purchased it...
