This thread is for clearance-- not for sale items. Price reductions for clearance seem to happen on Monday, although not every Monday, but could also occur any day of the week depending on your store's price change team. Price adjustments on clearance are typically not allowed, but some have succeeded or have been able to do as return and rebuy.

Target often donates its older clearance titles to Goodwill stores, so keep that in mind when you're trying to find items. BigDirty: "Further reduction is possible when a game's price ends with 8 cents. However, when it ends in 4 cents it will NOT drop anymore. If it ends in 9 cents, it's just on sale or on a non-clearance reduction." Also, note that, typically, games will drop three times-- from 30%, 50%, then to the final drop of 75% off of the original price. Some people, however, have seen further drops up to 85%.

When games are marked down, the price change team typically find the game and scan it with their PDA/LRT to intiate the price change. However, in the case that they cannot find the game, they will either choose to not drop the price further or process the price change anyway, figuring that the game is somewhere in the store.

When posting deals, please include game, system, price, city and state. For example:
Debbie Does Skywalker, Xbox 360, $4.98
Mesa, AZ Power Road at Superstition Springs

Also, a great help when you're posting deals you've found is to check this post and see if your item's DPCI number is already listed. DPCI stands for Department, Class, Item-- it's Target's version of a SKU. These are a nine digit number that can always be found on your receipt and also on the red clearance tags on the item itself. DPCI numbers are handy to have when you want to check the item's price-- just go over to your scanner and punch in the numbers, if your scanners have keypads. Also, you can give these numbers to team members so they can check the availability of the item easily with their PDA scanners. Please post any DPCI numbers that are not already in the OP-- thanks!

Here is a fairly easy way to check your local Target's pricing-- often price tags will not be correct. Thanks to BigDirty for this:
1) Go to Half.com or a similar site. Search for the game to locate its UPC code number. It's in the gray box underneath the box art graphic.
2) Go to UPC Data ,Milk.com , or UPC Database and enter the code so you can print out the UPC. Go to Target and use the price scanners to scan your printouts.

Thanks to Mephitical for this tool for locating clearance titles, which is located here. Go to Amazon or Target to find the item's ASIN. When you find it, replace "B000O3IS48" in the URL with your item's ASIN. This will take you to a page asking you for your zip code. Type in your zip code and click enter-- this will display a list of local stores and whether or not they have your item in stock. YMMV on it working properly.

The lowest known price will be posted. The item could be higher or lower at your store. Numbers in yellow are DPCI numbers, which can be used to check the prices of items on newer scanners.

I think it's pretty pointless to listen to other people's opinions on harddrive reliability because you'll find that every brand will have a whole bunch of people who had theirs fail on them whereas another brand has been nothing but perfect and vice versa.

I know you guys talk about hot chicks at Target. Where I live is MILF land, I am talking about these hot moms in their mid 30s who show cleavage, wear tight jeans or they are dressed as if they came out of the gym at 2pm and have nothing else to do than spend money because their husband is making 6 figures.

Pretty much, yeah. The 300gb Seagate I had failed after 3 years and I hardly used it, does that mean all Seagates will fail? No, I personally think WD and Seagate are on par with each other, but there are always people that will swear loyalty to only one brand..

The only comparison I have to that is some guy sprinted over to the DS section, running into me in the process, reading my shirt out loud, then telling his son or brother or whoever that "that's the game I want! Just came out and I'm getting it"

You usually don't see more than 1 hot chick at the Targets near me. Usually either with their mom or they're jailbait.
I went to a Target the other day to get some shaving razors and kitty litter and decided to go check out the games. I saw a semi-sketchy looking guy with about 5-6 games in his hands walking around various aisles. Next thing you know, a security guard had him sitting on the ground by the toy section with 2-3 Target employees around him.

I stayed in the DVD aisle to overhear what was going on. He was trying to explain about how he was going to hide his "stash" in the toy aisle and they were accusing him of attempting to steal. The security guard and employees were less than empathetic and really didn't understand why he would do such a thing. I left before I saw the end result, but it was rather humorous watching this dude get punked for a couple of 360 and DS games he wanted to hide.

Lesson boys and girls...even if you think they aren't watching, they probably are. Good luck trying to explain why you are "hiding" inventory.

Honestly, I hope it was a CAG. Its really annoying to see this thread littered with "I've hid my load today", pulling price stickers, and all sorts of shady and stupid ideas. You know who you are.

I don't hide shit but I don't see a problem and as far as the company getting on the guys ass for nothing. He was still in the store and didn't steal a thing. They accuse him of shit he didn't even do, who are they the fuckin mind police? Till the beeper in the front of the store goes off he didn't steal shit.

I can walk around all day in any store and move shit around all I want. Sometimes Ill pick up a movie and walk around and then decide I don't want it, I'm not going back to where I found it and put it back. Mind your business and leave the guy alone he did nothing wrong.

You know with times as bad as they are this is the least the guy could do to save some cash then I don't mind. Maybe they were for his kid? Maybe they were gifts for someone else? I'm sure the guy was a greedy prick and was going to eBay them right? Or were you mad and hung around to get giggles about the guy because you wanted the same games?

I know this is the deal thread and I have no deals to post but I wanted to reply to this horseshit because who are you to judge someone as to what they do? When this was happening were you sitting in target thinking "I gotta get home and rat this anonymous person out?" or "This will make a great story in a deal thread."?

The guy was trying to get a good deal on some games. Could be a lot worse.

That is the total opposite at my Target. Nothing but fat messes trying to wear 2 size smaller tops ugh...reminds me an over stuff sausage about to burst at the seems.

Actually he might be saying that he was hiding but I have seen alot of people take items to other departments and try to open them and leave the gutted stuff behind large toy items. So security was doing there job. I hope they rough him up :D

Yeah, I suppose you can, but don't you think that makes you a bit of a prick? I mean, the least you can do if you've picked something up and decided you don't want it is to put it back where you found it. Isn't that the respectful thing to do? Are you the type that unfolds every shirt in a clothing store and just leaves them that way too??? Or do you at least do your best to fold them back up the way you found them?

I picked up Spiderman Web of Shadows PSP for $12.98 There were only 2 left.

Just because you're a paying customer, doesn't mean you need to throw away the barest of etiquettes and consciences out the window before you enter a store. I mean, not every store/parking lot has to look like Walmart's.

I have to agree. Only because Target is rediculous, every time I go in there to look for clearance games I get cops and 2 or 3 empoyees following me around and watching me like I'm some sort of criminal. I actually don't shop there for games anymore because of this. I guess maybe they have had a lot of theft issues with their video games, but that doesn't mean you have to harrass your customers like that, I'm sure there's other ways. I feel nervous and shit so I just don't even go near that section (and I never steal anything, especially not a fucking video game, so I shouldn't have to feel nervous when browsing some games).

Ok here is the truth i was a loss prevention officer once and the rules are you can not touch a person until they are outside the door. The reason being is that if you stop the person and they have nothing like this guy they did this too, he can sue target for up to 25,000 for emotional distress and from the sound of it he could win if you ask me.

Exactly, short of someone like consumers report doing exhaustive testing or huge customer surveys, it is impossible to get an accurate picture of how reliable each brand is.

So I look at who offers the longest warranty. Willingness to stand behind the product they make (and replace if needed) seems to be the easiest way to get a semi accurate view of how well made the hard drives are.

I do the same thing, I will pick something up I'm interested in, walk around and frequently just put it down somewhere. It's my 5 mins rule, If I'm still jazzed about it after 5 mins I end up buying it. It's like my early warning buyers remorse test. I'm not doing it to dick with Target, and walking all around the store to put stuff back would be just a plain waste of my valuable time, what next I help them clean the floors.

I think most drives are of the same quality, but the warranties differ dramatically. I think a drive with a 5yr warranty is going to be definitely more reliable, due to the fact the company is willing to bet it will last that long. However, I have seen the same drive sold with 1, 3 and 5 yr warranties in the past with the difference apparent in the actual price.

Honestly, you should buy the drive, go home, google the model and if you find horrendous story's followed by a recall notice, then return the model, otherwise the best approach is to ALWAYS keep a backup on important data. My personal favorite was IBM's DEATHSTAR (DESKSTAR) model, which IBM actually tried to convince ppl that by using it in a system for more than 8hrs a day voided the warranty, as that was considered server like use. Basically the pieces of crap would overheat and then die. As a programmer I had two of the fucking things fail on me on my work pc. I actually had to send a drive out to have the data restored the first time.

Depends, did you throw trash on the floor? If so, then yes, you should "help them" clean up after yourself, the same as you should "help them" put the items you moved back where they belong. What, exactly, about personal responsibility is "just plain dumb"? I take stuff with me to decide if I really want it, also. If I decide I don't want it, I put it back where it came from (or where it belongs, if they are not the same), so that other people can actually find the item and decide if they want it. Are you seriously so lazy that you can't be bothered to walk to the proper section of the store? The stores aren't that big.

I found Soul Caliber IV for $12.48 at the Norridge, IL Target (HIP). As far as I could tell, it was the last one, but that clearance section is a mess and not well organized at all.

Man you must be fun to be around, remind me to invite you too my house so you can lecture me on a whole bunch of subjects, and when you're finished maybe you can help me rear my kids.

Dude you are a real blowhard, go look at yourself in the mirror.

Alright peeps, stay focused and let's get back on target posting deals and not shopping etiquette.

Bowling Green, KY Target moved Army of Two to the clearance section and knocked it down to $12.98, from it's normal $19.98 price point. There were maybe 3 copies left.

They moved the Hulk game to clearance and priced it as $20.48 (?), or something close to that. There were about 5 copies left. And they moved 8 copies of Turok for $20.98 I believe.

Still have about 4 copies of ABBA for PS3 over there as well. Forget the price.

1) I can be pretty fun to be around, yes.

2) I'm not sure where you live, but going to your house is probably not logistically feasible. Also, I'm not really much of a lecturer.

3) I don't have kids, but if I did, I'd try to teach them to be responsible and polite. You, however, can raise your own kids any way you like (within reason).

4) I'm not really a blowhard, but I do get annoyed when people act as if the world revolves around them. Yes, I'm sure Target tasks some employees with going around the store making sure that everything is in the right place, but why make it harder for them? You moved it, you put it back.

5) I have no problem looking at myself in the mirror. Why would I?

I like how this thread has gone from talking about MILFS, jailbait and hotties to hiding/hoarding games to not returning items to their right sections to cleaning Target's floors.

Maybe around 10 copies of Mirror's Edge at 27.98 and 5 copies of Far Cry 2 at 19.98 at Canoga Park, CA Target. This was 2 days ago.

Thanks for the heads up, I was trying to decide if I wanted to check that Target today...did you happen to see any MILFS on clearance?

This is the Target next to the Topanga mall by the way. Then again, I'm not sure if there's another Target in Canoga Park. Their clearance section was such a mess.

Anyway, I think the MILFs were still full price. There were a number jailbaits at 30% off though.

Saw a bunch of Diddy Kong Racing DS for $14.98, I don't think people have mentioned it. They didn't have red stickers but that's what they scanned at.

Also, 11 beautiful women in those 10 minutes.
I saw it around here for $10 within the last week or two. It was probably either the Hurst (183/Pipeline) or Irving (635 McArthur) Target. Case in point, there's bound to be a store in Dallas close to you that's dropped.

Still not sure why anyone would actually want ABBA though. I guess maybe if you grew up with your parents listening to them all day or something.
Went to the one in Irving but it was 19.xx :( I'll continue to wait.

That's the only Target in Canoga park that I know of, the next closest to there is the one on Fallbrook and Vanowen and the one on Ventura blvd. - can't remember the cross street closest to that one, but it's pretty much south of Canoga Park.

30% off Jailbait is not worth it, you've still gotta factor in bail and attorney's fees...I can get two full price MILFs for that, leopard print pants included.

Didn't see any hotties at my Target or clearance titles, but I complained to the store manager that a clerk filing cards away was inappropirately playing "gangta dress" while having his docker pants pulled down past his buttcrack while wearing a long red polo shirt. The doofus bent down to get some more cards and I saw more hair down there then any man should be forced to see. They do sell belts at Target, Mr. Fashion show. You can buy one with his spiffy employee discount.

Yeah I haven't checked the Fallbrook one. The Ventura one (cross street is De Soto) has an incredibly neat clearance section for games. I was there last Friday. Mostly the same games as people have reported. The SCIV for PS3 was still $24.98 though.

I'm still trying to pick up a 20 year old hottie with a BA. Maybe I'll make my rounds after work at these Targets.

Foiled someone's "layaway" plans today I think. Found an Unreal Tournament III(360) behind a printer display. Price tag gone, and ringing up out of the system. Just told the cashier $3.74. I was there looking for a pair of Skull Candy headphones clearanced off too, but missed out on. Walked out with a Rock Revolution(PS3) $4.98, but that's headed for Blockbuster.

So, if something rings up as out of system you can just tell them a price and they'll go with it? Is this YMMV?
So, if something rings up as out of system you can just tell them a price and they'll go with it? Is this YMMV?
It's highly YMMV, usually if they're willing to let you buy it they'll go by the last price that was entered into the system.. but they can refuse to sell it if they want to.

I've gotten refused once out of the 10 or so "out of system" games I've come across. I always go 90% off whatever the price of that game is currently. Telling them in Target Clearance price language helps too. Be it $7.48, $6.24, $4.98, $3.74 and so on. But very YMMV about it.

I got lucky once buying a game that was OOS at the pharmacy counter. I was there picking up some perscriptions. The pharmacist asked me if I knew the price. I think I said "I got this from the clearance shelf, I saw other games there for $5". He said "OK" and gave it to me for that price.

I've always gotten the shaft with the cashiers up front.

The Ventura/De Soto store is probably the best Target in the Valley for clearance deals. It always seems to have lower prices than the others, and often has games the others don't have, too. It's unfortunate I don't go out that way as often anymore.

x7 Afro Samurai ps3 for $29.99
x12 Far Cry 2 for $ 19.99
x3 Too Human for $7.98
x5 Soul Calibur 13.98

all found at my local target

Just saying, there's gotta be a reason they're on clearance... :whistle2:&
