This thread is for clearance-- not for sale items. Price reductions for clearance seem to happen on Monday, although not every Monday, but could also occur any day of the week depending on your store's price change team. Price adjustments on clearance are typically not allowed, but some have succeeded or have been able to do as return and rebuy.

Target often donates its older clearance titles to Goodwill stores, so keep that in mind when you're trying to find items. BigDirty: "Further reduction is possible when a game's price ends with 8 cents. However, when it ends in 4 cents it will NOT drop anymore. If it ends in 9 cents, it's just on sale or on a non-clearance reduction." Also, note that, typically, games will drop three times-- from 30%, 50%, then to the final drop of 75% off of the original price. Some people, however, have seen further drops up to 85%.

When games are marked down, the price change team typically find the game and scan it with their PDA/LRT to intiate the price change. However, in the case that they cannot find the game, they will either choose to not drop the price further or process the price change anyway, figuring that the game is somewhere in the store.

When posting deals, please include game, system, price, city and state. For example:
Debbie Does Skywalker, Xbox 360, $4.98
Mesa, AZ Power Road at Superstition Springs

Also, a great help when you're posting deals you've found is to check this post and see if your item's DPCI number is already listed. DPCI stands for Department, Class, Item-- it's Target's version of a SKU. These are a nine digit number that can always be found on your receipt and also on the red clearance tags on the item itself. DPCI numbers are handy to have when you want to check the item's price-- just go over to your scanner and punch in the numbers, if your scanners have keypads. Also, you can give these numbers to team members so they can check the availability of the item easily with their PDA scanners. Please post any DPCI numbers that are not already in the OP-- thanks!

Here is a fairly easy way to check your local Target's pricing-- often price tags will not be correct. Thanks to BigDirty for this:
1) Go to Half.com or a similar site. Search for the game to locate its UPC code number. It's in the gray box underneath the box art graphic.
2) Go to UPC Data ,Milk.com , or UPC Database and enter the code so you can print out the UPC. Go to Target and use the price scanners to scan your printouts.

Thanks to Mephitical for this tool for locating clearance titles, which is located here. Go to Amazon or Target to find the item's ASIN. When you find it, replace "B000O3IS48" in the URL with your item's ASIN. This will take you to a page asking you for your zip code. Type in your zip code and click enter-- this will display a list of local stores and whether or not they have your item in stock. YMMV on it working properly.

The lowest known price will be posted. The item could be higher or lower at your store. Numbers in yellow are DPCI numbers, which can be used to check the prices of items on newer scanners.

New at my Target this week was :ps3: Brothers in Arms for $41.xx and :ps3: Mercenaries 2 for $27.xx and :wii: MLB 2k8 for $20.xx.

So, in summation, nothing good. :)
 
On topic: My local Target has at least 20-30 copies of Def Jam-somthing-or-other (360) for $29.xx...lol. Who would buy this POS? These will still be sitting there collecting dust @ $14.xx.

Off topic: When are those Optimus Prime Anniversary fig's going to hit 75% off?

My target has had this one copy of Def Jam for over a year on the clearance rack for $29.xx too. It's just been sitting there. I don't understand why they drop everything else but not that game? What the hell? I don't want it but it's always hilarious to see it still sitting there
 
The Target in University Hts., OH was dry as a bone in the video game section. I got two scores from the toy section in the realm of board games--Yahtzee Free For All for $2.24 and Blokus Trigon for $7.48. I love Blokus and felt the Trigon edition is worth the $7 risk. Any Yahtzee for $2 is a steal.

Was trying to Google what day toy drops happen on...seems random to me, not Wednesday like the blogger claims, at least around this time of the year when they're getting rid of Christmas stuff. Every Target in my area is at a different discount level and seems to drop on a different day.

I'm thinking of grabbing one of those cool Optimus Primes and maybe a GI Joe playset when they hit 75%...but I have to get there early as that stuff disappears quickly. Also keeping an eye out for video game drops and the occasional sporting good. Bought most of my birthday/Christmas gifts for kids in the family for 2009 already thanks to Target clearance deals. Also bought next years Christmas cars, wrapping paper, gift bags, etc.

If I didn't have a copy of it already, I would've snatched it. Great game.

Just got back from the 28th St. Target in Grand Rapids. Picked up a Shark chair for $27.xx. They were closing when I left and there is one left back in the furniture dept.

I saw Far Cry 2 for 41.98, Mercs 2 & Fracture for 27.XX -- those were "new" to me; I saw Jericho for $12.28 and a bunch of DS games (sorry, I don't know the names)
 
weird. my target had at least 20 of the smaller BLUE boompod chairs on clearance at 24.98 (reg 49.99)

the RED boompod chairs scanned at 19.99 (reg price?)
 
My local targets have had nothing as of late... as soon as something hits its first phase of Clearance everything is gone the next week... I know for a fact that its gone before it drops again.

I pass though rather often being i live right next to one. I think i may cry, Last game i got was FFT for PSP for 12.XX that was well before Xmas :(

Also, thanks to everyone posting DPCIs. Makes my time easier for when I go into a Target that's not closing in five minutes-- only got a few to scout for.

Cape, MO didn't have squat last night. Didnt' see anything I couldn't live without. I tihnk the only games they had were Legendary PC and Haze PS3... same prices listed here.
 
None of my local Targets (Chesapeake, VA) have had any good games on clearance. I'm in Jacksonville on business this week and the selection at the St. John's Town Center store was crap as well.

I'd really like to pick up Madden '09 CE for $20, but I can never seem to find it!
 
Found some new (at least to me) drops:

Drill Dozer (GBA) - $6.98

I didn't pick up either of them as I got a used copy of Drill Dozer at a Best Buy (of all places to find used games) for $8.99 two years ago. Drill Dozer is a great game for all of you who haven't played it. It is made by Gamefreak, the people who made Pokemon and the cult classic Sega Channel game Pulseman (needed to be released here, sigh).
 
My Target had TONS of Mercenaries 2 for PS3 on the rack. I want to say price was $30, but I honestly don't remember.
here's hoping it hits $15, though.

:cool: That does happen, but luckily no one beat you to the punch today. If it's easier for you, don't worry about following my exact format and coloring in your post, if you decide to post in the future. I type out the game title itself, and then just copy an existing DPCI number from the OP and then type the last four digits of the DPCI for whatever specific game I'm adding to the OP. So basically, I don't copy anything from what people post, just type out the info. Gotta stay sharp on the typing and all of that.

I am happy to see Target clearance ramp up. In for Lego Batman when it hits 12.48.
 
Hey, where do you guys find the clearanced gaming chairs? With the games, clearance stuff or furniture? I never spot them but I've never been certain where I should be looking. Thanks.

they are in the furniture section, with other chairs. not so obvious, you'd think they would be in the electronics section.

Cool, I've been waiting for a drop/deal on that game. I need to check my Targets to see if they have it. Then watch them to go to a lower price.
