This thread is for clearance-- not for sale items. Price reductions for clearance seem to happen on Monday, although not every Monday, but could also occur any day of the week depending on your store's price change team. Price adjustments on clearance are typically not allowed, but some have succeeded or have been able to do as return and rebuy.

Target often donates its older clearance titles to Goodwill stores, so keep that in mind when you're trying to find items. BigDirty: "Further reduction is possible when a game's price ends with 8 cents. However, when it ends in 4 cents it will NOT drop anymore. If it ends in 9 cents, it's just on sale or on a non-clearance reduction." Also, note that, typically, games will drop three times-- from 30%, 50%, then to the final drop of 75% off of the original price. Some people, however, have seen further drops up to 85%.

When games are marked down, the price change team typically find the game and scan it with their PDA/LRT to intiate the price change. However, in the case that they cannot find the game, they will either choose to not drop the price further or process the price change anyway, figuring that the game is somewhere in the store.

When posting deals, please include game, system, price, city and state. For example:
Debbie Does Skywalker, Xbox 360, $4.98
Mesa, AZ Power Road at Superstition Springs

Also, a great help when you're posting deals you've found is to check this post and see if your item's DPCI number is already listed. DPCI stands for Department, Class, Item-- it's Target's version of a SKU. These are a nine digit number that can always be found on your receipt and also on the red clearance tags on the item itself. DPCI numbers are handy to have when you want to check the item's price-- just go over to your scanner and punch in the numbers, if your scanners have keypads. Also, you can give these numbers to team members so they can check the availability of the item easily with their PDA scanners. Please post any DPCI numbers that are not already in the OP-- thanks!

Here is a fairly easy way to check your local Target's pricing-- often price tags will not be correct. Thanks to BigDirty for this:
1) Go to Half.com or a similar site. Search for the game to locate its UPC code number. It's in the gray box underneath the box art graphic.
2) Go to UPC Data ,Milk.com , or UPC Database and enter the code so you can print out the UPC. Go to Target and use the price scanners to scan your printouts.

Thanks to Mephitical for this tool for locating clearance titles, which is located here. Go to Amazon or Target to find the item's ASIN. When you find it, replace "B000O3IS48" in the URL with your item's ASIN. This will take you to a page asking you for your zip code. Type in your zip code and click enter-- this will display a list of local stores and whether or not they have your item in stock. YMMV on it working properly.

The lowest known price will be posted. The item could be higher or lower at your store. Numbers in yellow are DPCI numbers, which can be used to check the prices of items on newer scanners.

Did you question why they were being sent back to the manufacturer? Depending on what she said, I probably would've pressed and asked to speak to a manager about purchasing them. I'm pretty sure the ones you mentioned are still in the system (my store still has Last Remnant at $41.98 for crying out loud).

Eh? We are not obligated to tell a customer why we are shipping something back to a manufacturer, if someone asked me that i would tell them nothing. Also, we have shipped clearanced stuff back to manufacturers before.

Edited to those of you bitching about security with electronics at Target, think about it for a second. Electronics has pretty much the highest theft and most of the priciest items in the store..think about that. Some of you neckbeards coming in there week after week stalking electronics, harrassing the employees, etcc..they(security) are bound to notice you, especially those here who stash clearance which is a big no no.

Go back to that store at opening, ask to speak to the store manager and buy those games just for the point of it cuz i hate employees that steal deals from us regular joes like gamestop which is why i won't shop there ever!

If you acted like that towards me, I'd have had you call the store manager immediately, complained about you, bought your games, and then I'd have called corporate to boot. I'm sure someone else could do your job without the attitude, especially in this economy. If I were you, I'd wise up. Companies are "trimming the fat" nowadays.

You know i agree with you about the hiding things . There is no doubt its %100 stealing and Target and the other customers lose out . I also think they should catch and ban these people from their stores . There is however no reason to be rude to someone for browsing .

Acting like what exactly? I just said that we are under no obligation to tell you why we are shipping something back to a manufacturer nor are we obligated to sell something to you, get over yourself. Maybe i am sick of people like you who give us attitude.

I am not worried about you complaining to my manager or corporate. People these days complain if we stick up for ourselves when people like you are abusive to us, thank goodness for video cameras and those in the know who know i give great guest service to everyone who treats me with respect.

lol. you are obviously aiming the bottom half of your post at my comment, so, i figured i'd counter with, this is the first time i've gone to a target in months, and last time there were no armed police officers there...not even security...i was just pointing it out, they didnt give me any trouble, as i wasnt there to steal anything, i was there to check for clearance games. why steal something that is so cheap, not worth it lol.

Anyway, not to be totally O.T. I hardly see any clearance deals in the Pasadena target anymore aside from the "general" clearance price of $19.98. Anybody recognizing similar?

How the fuck do you make statements towards stashing and say they're a no no, but it is obviously this chick who is employed by the company did the same. I could care less about how the consumer treats you. You seem like the person that whines about mistreatment regardless if the customer is right or just in their actions. It seems most sales people at Target or other retailers brag about these extensive security systems and how they'll catch the "bad people", but don't realize that a good chunk of these "bad people" dawn the company colors behind the counter, especially in electronics and customer service.

Really, so if a product is being sent back to the manufacturer the consumer doesn't have a right to know whether its being recalled due to lead paint, choking hazard, etc? Whenever I've heard something was being sent back and I've questioned it, I've always gotten a nice response from the employee why it's being sent back, not a douchey response like yours.

So, I stopped by my Target last night. Found a couple of games, but none of them had hit the sweet spot

Fracture - 19.98
Mercs 2 - 14.98 (already got it at BB, but figured I'd check it)
Lego Batman - 24.98

I left empty handed.

Damn dude, keep the Pasadena store on the DL... :bomb: There was a decent stack of stuff in the clearance spot last I went. Looks like they had just transferred the stuff from the case to the aisle.

This has me thinking has target taken a game off clearance and put it at a new MSRP for sale?

Most of the clearance deals seem to be titles are are going to be dropping MSRP soon. Well it at least appears that way to me. So do they only sell New releases and budget games? (I don't really shop at target, hence my question).

Either these were hidden very well or they found more in the back. 2 weeks ago they had 5 copies at $7.48 with no previous markdowns to my knowledge. Then as soon as they appeared they all disappeared. Couldn't believe that they actually sold that fast, so now that they're back it makes a little more sense. Great deal, making the $15 Amazon PS3 version deal I got in on a few months ago seem considerably less special.

That store has been lagging horribly in dropping clearance prices compared to others I read about here.

I am very sorry I stated the wrong store. It's the Dobbin Store not Long Reach. I live in Baltimore and pass by both of the stores and got confused. Again I am very very very sorry, my wife just told be I was wrong. I will edit the original post now.

At the First Ave branch in Evansville, IN they FINALLY dropped the prices to 75%

Grabbed Fracture, Mercs 2 for $9xx & Haze for $7xx

They also had Web of Shadows for $29xx and Blood Brothers (?) for $14xx

All PS3.

As for the girl behind the counter who may or may not have stored some games for herself later. What's the big deal? I would consider it a perk of the job to be able to grab stuff to buy later, as long as the items were to be paid for when she finished her shift, I don't see what all of the fuss is about.

Honestly, the way some of you act, you seem to think you have a god given right to get games cheap (and screw anyone else who want them, because obviously YOU are more important)

Only one Target in Columbia (that end of Dobbin Road is in the Long Reach village), so we're talking about the same one. No wasted trip for me, just commenting. Even if there had been a wasted trip it wouldn't be a problem - I can see Target from my house.
 
no singstars anymore for my targets.. its too bad they were still $14.98!!

i scanned Last Remnant and it came up to $41.98!!! target really sucks by me lately.. even Tomb Raider scanned at $41.98.. and they were sold out of it.
 
Clifton Park, NY store had 5 copies of :360:Tomb Raider Underworld, all marked $14.98. I grabbed one, left the rest.

Nothing new except Guitar Hero 3, which rang up 12.XX i think. I hadn't see this game in the store in the clearance section until today, which is odd.

So after trying the Glisan store in Portland and having no luck, hit up the Fairview store on the way home. Sure enough had some games.. Last Remenant for 14.xx, Tomb Raider for 14.xx and Bolt for 14.xx for the kid.

Had Fracture, Lego Batman, NCAA 2008 Basketball, various other stuff... no Ace Combat though.. :(
 
I saw Singstar Legends PS2 for $14.98. Didn't get it because the song list didn't match my likes. No other prices moved from last week.
 
I just got back from my local Target, they have one Rock Band for 360 left, but it's stickered and the price checking machine brings it up as $69.98. It sucks, I really want it, but I dunno when or if they will lower it to $34.98. :(

Probably next week. But remember with a weekend coming up the store will probably see more traffic, which means more people, which means a greater chance of someone picking it up for that price. I'm not going to lie, if you can spare $30, you'd be better off picking it up. Hell, RB2 bundle goes for what, $189 at Target? The RB2 disc alone will set you back $60 new...$10 less than an entire bundle.
 
When I went today, PS3 far cry 2 was 29.99 on the clearance tag...and when I had them check it. I was really hoping for under 15!

Are clearance prices supposed to be universal at all the Targets? I was at three, and they all had the same clearance games at much higher prices than what's listed here.
