This thread is for clearance-- not for sale items. Price reductions for clearance seem to happen on Monday, although not every Monday, but could also occur any day of the week depending on your store's price change team. Price adjustments on clearance are typically not allowed, but some have succeeded or have been able to do as return and rebuy.

Target often donates its older clearance titles to Goodwill stores, so keep that in mind when you're trying to find items. BigDirty: "Further reduction is possible when a game's price ends with 8 cents. However, when it ends in 4 cents it will NOT drop anymore. If it ends in 9 cents, it's just on sale or on a non-clearance reduction." Also, note that, typically, games will drop three times-- from 30%, 50%, then to the final drop of 75% off of the original price. Some people, however, have seen further drops up to 85%.

When games are marked down, the price change team typically find the game and scan it with their PDA/LRT to intiate the price change. However, in the case that they cannot find the game, they will either choose to not drop the price further or process the price change anyway, figuring that the game is somewhere in the store.

When posting deals, please include game, system, price, city and state. For example:
Debbie Does Skywalker, Xbox 360, $4.98
Mesa, AZ Power Road at Superstition Springs

Also, a great help when you're posting deals you've found is to check this post and see if your item's DPCI number is already listed. DPCI stands for Department, Class, Item-- it's Target's version of a SKU. These are a nine digit number that can always be found on your receipt and also on the red clearance tags on the item itself. DPCI numbers are handy to have when you want to check the item's price-- just go over to your scanner and punch in the numbers, if your scanners have keypads. Also, you can give these numbers to team members so they can check the availability of the item easily with their PDA scanners. Please post any DPCI numbers that are not already in the OP-- thanks!

Here is a fairly easy way to check your local Target's pricing-- often price tags will not be correct. Thanks to BigDirty for this:
1) Go to Half.com or a similar site. Search for the game to locate its UPC code number. It's in the gray box underneath the box art graphic.
2) Go to UPC Data ,Milk.com , or UPC Database and enter the code so you can print out the UPC. Go to Target and use the price scanners to scan your printouts.

Thanks to Mephitical for this tool for locating clearance titles, which is located here. Go to Amazon or Target to find the item's ASIN. When you find it, replace "B000O3IS48" in the URL with your item's ASIN. This will take you to a page asking you for your zip code. Type in your zip code and click enter-- this will display a list of local stores and whether or not they have your item in stock. YMMV on it working properly.

The lowest known price will be posted. The item could be higher or lower at your store. Numbers in yellow are DPCI numbers, which can be used to check the prices of items on newer scanners.

Many of the PS2 budget/greatest hits titles that were on clearance dropped to 50% off.

Also found :psp: GRAW 2 for 4.98

The electronics section also had much more stuff on clearance than usual. Picked up a Belkin surge protector for $7.48 (75%) that has those wide sideways slots that are good for the old school AC adapters.

I can confirm Dead Space for $29.99 as well. Not clearance, so it's MSRP drop or just a lower price at Target. I saw the 360 version.

Far Cry 2 (360) was $19.99 and I decided I really want a copy at $9.99, so I hid it. :)

Afro Samurai :ps3: dropped to $13.98 at the Wilsonville, OR store. I picked up the only copy I saw. Mega Man Maverick Hunter X :psp: dropped by $7.48. Nothing else noticed.

Ah, two that I want! I hope there are a few copies still hanging out around my stores.
Blu-ray Bundle T2- $12.98 (will return my $24.98 one I bought last week)
Fifa 09 360- $29.98
SOny headphones -$24.98

Waukesha Target
is it worth it just for the remote? i need a remote for my PS3 and my store still has a ton of these.

Shouldn't it be $14.98, which is 75% off the original $59.99 price?

Now I hope I can find one.

It sounds like a good deal, but in my opinion, you'd get frustrated with the limited features of the remote. Besides not being able to turn on the PS3 (not the biggest deal, but still), it doesn't seem to have very many buttons.

Expanded PS3 section to include $30 games as others have noted. Afro and Naruto (PS3) still $29.98....one copy of each....I'll miss out on these if they drop I'm sure....my store always seems to be 1-2 weeks behind the drops you guys mention :(

Picked up the WD External HD 750 GB for $37.50. This was not marked and was still on the shelf in the computer aisle.

Also picked up the noise canceling sony head phones for $25. I am not sure if I will keep these. They might be great when I mow the lawn.

On a side note, I went to a different target on my way home and saw the same thing that I did at one of my usual targets last week. These two targets have the aisle of cheap games. I found Far Cry 2 in this section marked at $40 without any clearance stickers on it, but ringing up at $20. Was really hoping the magical $10, but hopefully they stay in that location and drop next week.

hmmm good point... my dad just wants a remote instead of a controller so I think I'll pick one up... probably the 3:10 to yuma pack.

Man, why does my Target suck. Everytime I check this thread I give them a call or stop by and they always have the games mentioned on clearance, but never as good of a deal.

Right now Mirror's Edge is on clearance for $27.98 and Afro Samurai PS3 is on clearance for $29.99.

My mistake. You are correct, it was $14.98.

And a note on Afro Samurai, or any game that has a slip-case...and I am really afraid to mention this because it probably will happen, but you can easily take the slip cover and put it over another game (not in a display case) to get that game for the price of Afro Samurai.

It came to me as I checked to make sure it was indeed Afro Samurai under the slip case and not another PS3 game, and then looking at the new games they have out of the display case (in those cardboard shelves), games like RE5 and Wanted: WoF, it became obvious to me that someone could do that easily (and assume the clerk won't check, which mine didn't).

Sadly, there are people in this world, and on CAG, that will do this. It's the same people that will peel a clearance sticker off one game and put it on another.

But just a friendly reminder to check it to make sure you are getting the right game. This applies to DVDs and Blu-rays too.

Why provide the information? You're only helping people do it. Just the reminder to make sure you're getting the right game would suffice. :bouncy:

FOSonic please delete this.

I had my best clearance day at Target this afternoon. These were from the Mayfield Hts., OH store. The location doesn't really matter, as you'll see with each of these items...

MLB Front Office Manager (360)--$9.98, last one.
The Singing Machine portable karaoke machine--$12.48, last one. (DPCI: 057-02-0530)
Sony CMTBX1 CMT Micro Component System (which I mentioned here a few weeks back)--$24.98, last one. (DPCI: 008-03-0290)
FOSonic please delete this.
I can't. I'm not a forum guide or a moderator. Write your local CheapyD and tell him you want to see Friend of Sonic in office 2012!
Two weeks later and Sonic Unleashed is stil $24.98...
I stopped in at the Target near my office today, and it was still $34.98 there (and even still, they were somehow down to only one copy left). :whistle2:|
I removed my post myself.
It's still kind of there because of the quote someone did, which has it.
It's still kind of there because of the quote someone did, which has it.
Well donut has to remove that himself. Not my problem.

I saw something funny today.. an 80GB Zune, I believe it was black.. 50% off at $130ish. It was behind a glass case in the automotive section of all places. I passed on it due to having a 30gb that was clearanced out really low a long time ago, but I wonder if it has dropped any more. I would have punched in the DCPI, but this Target only had the barcode scanner price checkers instead of the number pad.

Maybe useful info for someone, I'm kicking myself for not jotting down the DCPI #.

Saw lots of good PS2 games going for cheap.

Kingdom Heats 2 - $10.
Bully - $10.
Family Guy game - $5.

This is in the Orange County area.

Cheapestgamer: I only saw X-blades for the 360. I don't think the ps3 version is going on clearance yet.

I finally picked up Far Cry 2, there were about 8 copies last week but there was only 2 today so I bought it at $19.98.

Well today I decided to see if I could get a good look at our local clearance stasher in Chantilly.

Today the pricing team was SUPER late... at 4pm they were still doing electronics. I decided to let the clearance team do their job and wait it out, but would swing by after awhile and saw these two sniffing thru the clearance items.

stasher.jpg

The first guy I actually tried to follow him to get a good look at him. When I wasn't around, he grabbed like 3 360 games and took off towards the clothing department. I saw him take the games into the department but didn't follow him just kept an eye on his general location. Then no less than 2 mins later I see him in the cd department (near the photo lab) and none of the games where in his hand. Yep, looks like he stashed them.
I am starting to think that this stasher has an insider working in the clothing department who hides his shit under the counter. Then comes back some time later to pick it up when he reads the price has gotten cheaper on here.

The guy is about 6 feet tall, thin build, brown hair, glasses. Wears those jackets you see mechanics wear around the shop...so he might work at a near by auto shop/gas station.

The other guy on the right , was going thru all the games with his fingers and not picking up anything.

I've seen both of them in that store before around the same time.

Picked up Family Game Night PS2 for $5 nothing else of interest , 360 clearence was a wasteland , but I did score 2 750 GB External hard drives for me and my brother and a Singing Machine portable karaoke machine for my mom's bday .

Wow! Really? Are videogames this serious? I dont know who to feel bad for first, the guys hiding the games or you for taking their picture and posting it on a forum "catching them in the act" LOL...this is silly

You mind sharing some details on the HD? Like what edition and color it is?

The thing about this stasher is that he only goes for games. Heck I will be extremely happy to find something electronic (accessories) on clearance instead of a video game to hoard or flip. Heck I picked up a nice Jabra BT unit for my car for 25 bucks from 100 today.

Hahah, I'm glad I'm not the only one who thinks this guy is crazy.

And before you go on some conspiracy theory rant of how one of those guys is me, than I must sadly inform you that I was between Alexandria and Fredricksburg all day for work...so...

hmm, don't those two areas have targets as well? ;)

and there he goes again... going nuts thinking that he's one of the people in the picture. Once again did I say THIS IS THE PICTURE OF Z(+)DIAC???

ENDCAPZ R SERIOUS BIZ~!~~!!!!

They're not stealing. They're SHOPPING for games that are clearly marked and out in the open for SHOPPERS to look at. I see plenty of people look at the games around and I don't freak out thinking OH NOES HOARDERS and if they do take a stack of games, who cares? Target certainly doesn't, since they're getting money/clearing shelf space they need anyways/getting money instead of donating it to Goodwill. And if he's "hiding" them...yeah, it sucks, but if no one is doing anything about it/employees don't care, it doesn't make him a criminal. I'd take those pics down if I were you. If it were me I'd be pretty pissed some jealous endcap spy took my picture without my permission while I was shopping/browsing.

Well we have someone in the target thread who admits he stashes and it is probably the same clown who posted that information on the other site the other day bragging about it. Still AP should be cracking down on these stashers. Stores shouldn't be used to hide your shit in a safe spot til the price goes down.

Our proud finds/Buys of the week:

-Samsung 8.1 MegaPixel Digital Camera for $35.

-TruTech DVD Home Theater Surround Sound System for $37.

---------

Games that just went down that we didn't get:

-Afro Samurai: 29.98
-Naruto Ninja Storm 29.98

~Still Waiting for them to drop. ;)

Well if Target didnt remove their 200 cameras in their stores awhile back, they wouldnt have this problem. Pshhh, so what if there was a lawsuit. Should just kept them in. I remember when I worked there, they were able to see into people's soul with the amount of cameras they had in the store
