This thread is for clearance-- not for sale items. Price reductions for clearance seem to happen on Monday, although not every Monday, but could also occur any day of the week depending on your store's price change team. Price adjustments on clearance are typically not allowed, but some have succeeded or have been able to do as return and rebuy.

Target often donates its older clearance titles to Goodwill stores, so keep that in mind when you're trying to find items. BigDirty: "Further reduction is possible when a game's price ends with 8 cents. However, when it ends in 4 cents it will NOT drop anymore. If it ends in 9 cents, it's just on sale or on a non-clearance reduction." Also, note that, typically, games will drop three times-- from 30%, 50%, then to the final drop of 75% off of the original price. Some people, however, have seen further drops up to 85%.

When games are marked down, the price change team typically find the game and scan it with their PDA/LRT to intiate the price change. However, in the case that they cannot find the game, they will either choose to not drop the price further or process the price change anyway, figuring that the game is somewhere in the store.

When posting deals, please include game, system, price, city and state. For example:
Debbie Does Skywalker, Xbox 360, $4.98
Mesa, AZ Power Road at Superstition Springs

Also, a great help when you're posting deals you've found is to check this post and see if your item's DPCI number is already listed. DPCI stands for Department, Class, Item-- it's Target's version of a SKU. These are a nine digit number that can always be found on your receipt and also on the red clearance tags on the item itself. DPCI numbers are handy to have when you want to check the item's price-- just go over to your scanner and punch in the numbers, if your scanners have keypads. Also, you can give these numbers to team members so they can check the availability of the item easily with their PDA scanners. Please post any DPCI numbers that are not already in the OP-- thanks!

Here is a fairly easy way to check your local Target's pricing-- often price tags will not be correct. Thanks to BigDirty for this:
1) Go to Half.com or a similar site. Search for the game to locate its UPC code number. It's in the gray box underneath the box art graphic.
2) Go to UPC Data ,Milk.com , or UPC Database and enter the code so you can print out the UPC. Go to Target and use the price scanners to scan your printouts.

Thanks to Mephitical for this tool for locating clearance titles, which is located here. Go to Amazon or Target to find the item's ASIN. When you find it, replace "B000O3IS48" in the URL with your item's ASIN. This will take you to a page asking you for your zip code. Type in your zip code and click enter-- this will display a list of local stores and whether or not they have your item in stock. YMMV on it working properly.

The lowest known price will be posted. The item could be higher or lower at your store. Numbers in yellow are DPCI numbers, which can be used to check the prices of items on newer scanners.

Didn't notice Dead Rising, but I did spot a copy of House of the Dead behind the glass on clearance. Doubt it will be there when it gets to a point I am ready to buy though.

So it's $15 in Manassas? Damn, still at $30 anywhere closer in to the city. I guess that might not be too far to go from my office, it's just in the exact opposite direction of home and I'll probably have to go after work. Were there many copies there? (Only want one, but don't want to make the trip if they'll probably be gone by the time I can do it.)

As far as whether it's worth it, haven't played it so don't know, but I got the idea from what friends have said that it's worth that much but not much more. I'm intrigued enough to want it for that, anyway.

PoP is definitely worth $15 IMO. Great art style and dialogue makes the game worth playing for sure.

I'm tempted to grab Afro Samurai for $15 if my Target has it in stock for $15.

Dude, what's your problem? Who said I was stalking target customers? The guy was in my freaking way to the clearance section. Believe me I wouldn't touch anything this guy touch because the stench was so bad. Some people just need to bathe before they walk into a store.

maybe more depending on where you live

Yea, NFS was $12.xx at Target out here. It is pretty much what you would expect from a NFS game so not a bad pickup for that price IMHO. It kept my interest last night and the achievements don't seem too bad, but if you didn't like the other games don't expect anything groundbreaking.

But seriously, you'd think we were talking about sealed Suikoden 2's, Shining Force 3's, Panzer Dragoon Sagas, Earthbounds, and Valkyrie Profiles with the rage just boiling over in this topic, LOL. So some FW/SD hoarders cleaned out your store, no biggy. Let them waste a couple days dealing with trying to list sell and ship all those games for a couple of bucks profit, maybe $10 if they're lucky, per game. Oh no, Gamestop corporate should seriously start worrying with those guys as their competition, making $10 an hour if they're lucky reselling clearance games from Target and elsewhere. If you guys miss out, ain't no thing. These games will all be well under $10 used or new in a few months.

Yeah - I passed on PoP so far. I may pick up a copy. The problem is I have so many games to play that I almost can't justify PoP.

I did pick up a Lips at 24.98 yesterday as the 5 Targets that I frequent, only 2 stores had them in stock - and only 1 at each store. Figured if I wanted the mics, I better bite.

NFS nor WWE are 75% off yet in my area. I'll probably be interested at that price point...

Even if that one doesn't last through another price drop at Target, I would still expect to see it for cheaper than that sometime within the next six months.

I wouldn't say never... I was able to pick up GHIII and GHAerosmith game + guitar bundles for $25 a while back and was the first to post that price drop (Bloomington Target). I've also picked up some of the other clearance items recently.

Although I haven't been lucky enough to pick up a Rock Band 2 game only for $15 (they are marked and scan at $30...).

i saw about 4 copies of afro samurai for $14.98 but what was really weird was a 5th copy that had a different kind of sticker (like not the normal red clearance sticker) that also said clearance on it and it was marked $7.48. i found it really strange that one of the 5 copies had a different price on it... the game dosent intrest me at all so even at that price i passed.

hey i found the clearance shelf at my local target (flint, mi) and found Star Ocean 2 for the psp. it was marked at 27.99 and when i scanned it was the same price. everyone on here has noted it is 19.99. anyway to force a price down? i thought these price drops were universal.
