This thread is for clearance-- not for sale items. Price reductions for clearance seem to happen on Monday, although not every Monday, but could also occur any day of the week depending on your store's price change team. Price adjustments on clearance are typically not allowed, but some have succeeded or have been able to do as return and rebuy.

Target often donates its older clearance titles to Goodwill stores, so keep that in mind when you're trying to find items. BigDirty: "Further reduction is possible when a game's price ends with 8 cents. However, when it ends in 4 cents it will NOT drop anymore. If it ends in 9 cents, it's just on sale or on a non-clearance reduction." Also, note that, typically, games will drop three times-- from 30%, 50%, then to the final drop of 75% off of the original price. Some people, however, have seen further drops up to 85%.

When games are marked down, the price change team typically find the game and scan it with their PDA/LRT to intiate the price change. However, in the case that they cannot find the game, they will either choose to not drop the price further or process the price change anyway, figuring that the game is somewhere in the store.

When posting deals, please include game, system, price, city and state. For example:
Debbie Does Skywalker, Xbox 360, $4.98
Mesa, AZ Power Road at Superstition Springs

Also, a great help when you're posting deals you've found is to check this post and see if your item's DPCI number is already listed. DPCI stands for Department, Class, Item-- it's Target's version of a SKU. These are a nine digit number that can always be found on your receipt and also on the red clearance tags on the item itself. DPCI numbers are handy to have when you want to check the item's price-- just go over to your scanner and punch in the numbers, if your scanners have keypads. Also, you can give these numbers to team members so they can check the availability of the item easily with their PDA scanners. Please post any DPCI numbers that are not already in the OP-- thanks!

Here is a fairly easy way to check your local Target's pricing-- often price tags will not be correct. Thanks to BigDirty for this:
1) Go to Half.com or a similar site. Search for the game to locate its UPC code number. It's in the gray box underneath the box art graphic.
2) Go to UPC Data ,Milk.com , or UPC Database and enter the code so you can print out the UPC. Go to Target and use the price scanners to scan your printouts.

Thanks to Mephitical for this tool for locating clearance titles, which is located here. Go to Amazon or Target to find the item's ASIN. When you find it, replace "B000O3IS48" in the URL with your item's ASIN. This will take you to a page asking you for your zip code. Type in your zip code and click enter-- this will display a list of local stores and whether or not they have your item in stock. YMMV on it working properly.

The lowest known price will be posted. The item could be higher or lower at your store. Numbers in yellow are DPCI numbers, which can be used to check the prices of items on newer scanners.

The prices usually takes 5 to 10 minutes for the system to update from my previous experience.
 
POP is still priced at $30 for me aswell. They had about 5 copies though.

Considering just biting on amazon, who knows when it will eventually drop to $15 there.
 
Calling..hope it is tagged right or they actually scan it..aholes said it is still $30. Forgot to ask how many in stock.

whats with all these expensive clearance prices? where are my 15$ and 10$ and 7$? what the F....i hid a couple rock bands just in case they change the price before i can get back there....:)

and tomb raider isnt on the clearance list so that can be added perhaps...
 
POP is 14.98 here, hopefully the rest of the games dropped. Never liked a Ubisoft montreal game before in my life, so i will pass on POP.

Stopped by the Chantilly, VA Target during lunch. They had moved PoP out of the glass case and onto the clearance shelf (great, so much for the hoarder protection -- don't know why they bothered, there are a lot of empty slots in the case now), but the price was still marked at $29.98. There was a girl there changing clearance stickers on some items, so I asked her whether she knew when it was going to drop again. She said that she had just scanned it and it had still come up at $29.98, so to check back again next week.

Apparently, from what she told me, when clearance price drops happen is driven by sales within the market area -- as long as they sell a certain number within the area at one price, it won't drop. Once the sales drop off, then the clearance price drops happen.

At this point, I'm seriously tempted to just grab it for $19.99 off of Amazon and be done with it. :whistle2:(

She was busy putting $7.48 stickers on copies of Guitar Hero III (game only). I'd be almost tempted if I had a guitar controller, but without one it's kinda pointless.

so last week there were 4 or more afro sam and so i figured theyd be there today when they dropped to 14.98 but no luck and mK vs dc dropped to 29.98 and it was the last one so i had to bit sucks i really wanted it for 14.98 but i guess 30 is ok hopefully i can find another on at another target along with afro. there was also pop but ill pass on that cause i dont think ill ever play it, there was some high school dance pad for 9.98 as well

:ps3: Tomb Raider Underworld is not on clearance, this is their new regular price $29.99, just like :ps3: Dead Space.
 
Cool Springs (Nashville area) TN didn't have much, but they had 5 copies of Prince of Persia (360) under glass for $14.98 each, as of about 1PM. I got the LE close to launch, so I didn't get one. Lips was $24.98, which I think it had already hit last week.

Edit: Just to be clear, they had other clearance games, but they all seemed to be older drops. I asked if the markdowns had already happened for the day, and the employee said they had.

I noticed that today too. RB2 is 207 24 0193, Wheelman is 207 24 0175.

Also saw House of the Dead Overkill for Wii is on clearance for $34.xx. DCPI is 207 26 0338. Hopefully that lasts until the next drop.

I dont know what to do this week I want to pick up both Prototype and Infamous but cant think of a third game to get at Target. Plus, I have a register coupon from them for $10.00 off a $100.00 electronics purchase. First do games count as electronics at Target, and second would they combine the coupon with the B2G1 free deal?

I am also not against picking them up at TRU with the free GC because I also have a $10.00 off a $50.00 purchase coupon from them.
 
I hit up 4 targets looking for clearanced games.. finally at the last one i went to, they had SvR 2009 for 12.48 (atleast 25 copies) and Saint Row 2 for 12.48 ( 3 copies), I snagged 12 copies of Svr 2009 and last 3 copies of Saints Row..
Im sending 9 of them to Amazon for a very cheap WII.. : ).. so with this deal im paying 112.32+ tax + gas for the WIIII : )

I also made nice with the Markdown girl at one of the targets, she told me if she hasnt down clearance yet for that section to just bring the game over to her and she will update the price for me cuz i get there early most mondays and she is nowhere near being done..

I think its a break even no matter what i do because.. the first four games get me 153.00 ($78 tiv(19.50x 4) + $75 console promo) towards a console.. the 5 games get me 97.50.. bring my total right at 250.50... WIIs are $250..

If i sold i would have to wait and ship.. and to beat the deal above sell them for around $30 a peice.. i check on ebay and not much is selling for that game at $30..

Man, no offense (well, ok, go ahead and take offense if you want to), but you're exactly the sort of person that I hate here, hoarding all of the copies for yourself and not leaving any for others who might actually want the games. Say what you want about capitalism or your rights or whatever (all arguments that have been used ad nauseum), it's still a jerky thing to do.
 
Checked the Target by work. :ps3:RB2 was $41.98. Everything else was junk.

Does anybody have/can find a copy of :ps3:RB2 for $14.98? I'd be interested in it!

the ironic part is that with all that effort, money invested to get these games and send them out it probably all costs the same to get a new Wii console.
 
Chantilly had TONS of GH3, PoP, Left for dead, MKvsDC and a few other titles...and guess what the best deal I found?

Some fat redneck guy with a torn blue shirt complete with "I haven't showered in WEEKS" stench that you could SMELL from two isles over!:puke:

I would have posted a pic of this guy, but I can't :( So heads up fells cags for a stench so foul that it actually makes you hold your breath when your passing by.

hey you want to look thru my pms snd see the members who live in my area what information i gave them about where these games can be found.. I hit up 4 targets that are about 10 miles apart each, my time cost money.. and by hoarding do you mean taking all of them or leaving half of them for people who really want them cuz i have the funds to grab all of them if i wanted and could have got another ps3, xbox360, dreamcast if i wanted... look thru the ea thread and see how many people bought more than 20 cards if they could..

please go to 4+ targets and look for your deals.. just like i did..

nope not really, $115 for the investment, throw in $5 for gas, took me three hours of my time on my day off of work (tuesday through saturday) and i deal shop anyways for groceries, amazon is paying for shipping..

not close to the cost of a wii..

I figure those three hours and the time to pack up and bring the games to the post office would make up for the rest unless of course you make minimum. pretty stupid to do all that work and waste energy when you easily could have just went to one store and bought a Wii
 
The worst part is bragging about hoarding. No need to get on CAG and announce to everyone that you bought 12 copies, just asking to be flamed. Not to mention, it don't recall anything in the post about the location of the Targets.

Would trade a POP and Afro for FEAR 2, MK vs DC, Lips, Monsters vs. Aliens, or Lips all on 360 or other Target clearance games.
 
Guys, he's a poser. He didn't actually buy multiple copies. He's just some kid pretending to be rich because it's the internetz and it's his only escapism from the endless beatings he gets from his parents and at school.

I'm honestly surprised that Amazon even allows someone to trade in that many copies of a single title. I would think that would open them up to a lot more chance of abuse, getting stolen merchandise, etc., not to mention a sudden devaluation of their used stock caused by getting too many copies of it.

Wow, what incredibly lame arguments. Actually, I do go to 4+ Targets regularly -- and when I find what I want (when they haven't been cleared out by people like you), I buy one copy to play, maybe a copy or two for friends if I know they're looking for it (again, to play, not to flip). And you're right, your time does cost money -- so what exactly are you saving here? If you have the funds to buy all of those systems, then there's really no excuse for it (and, um, what's your point, anyway?). Finally, the EA cards are a totally different thing -- Best Buy had those cards in much greater numbers, and the cards in and of themselves aren't worth much of anything; you really have to buy a bunch of them to get anything worthwhile out of them (even if you're just buying Sims 3 content, a $10 card doesn't buy you much!). Not the same as a single copy of a game vs. multiple copies of a game at all!

Did you not see how many games i said were on the shelf.. 25+!!....the location went to people who i pmed who live in my area..

POP - $7.48
Afro Samurai - $!5 ( last one and most of the other copies vanished )
HSM 3 with Dance Pad - $ 10

Still saw GH3 for $7.48 50+ copies and no drops in weeks
Saw Dead Rising Wii And HOTD OK Wii
MK vs DC Finally dropped to 30 ( sweet spot is 15 ) and all the Copies of Lips have kissed off the shelves with a whimper last price was $35 Meh !

yes you are right.. Im posing.. what target would even have that many copies of a game instock?.. i should have thought of something better, like I found Infamous for 14.98 and i bought 12 copies..

I cant even afford a spend tyhat much on games because its a recession.. my parents only let me shop out of the 4.99 bin @Play N Trade..

Only thing is wrong is that I train UFC, and i could triangle choke you! and by train, i mean i play Uundisputed alot..
 
You got PoP for $8?? Mine won't even let them go for $15 :(

And hoarders piss me off. They are *why* you have to check out 4+ stores to find anything. It's them that make a dozen copies of a single title disappear over night.
