This thread is for clearance-- not for sale items. Price reductions for clearance seem to happen on Monday, although not every Monday, but could also occur any day of the week depending on your store's price change team. Price adjustments on clearance are typically not allowed, but some have succeeded or have been able to do as return and rebuy.

Target often donates its older clearance titles to Goodwill stores, so keep that in mind when you're trying to find items. BigDirty: "Further reduction is possible when a game's price ends with 8 cents. However, when it ends in 4 cents it will NOT drop anymore. If it ends in 9 cents, it's just on sale or on a non-clearance reduction." Also, note that, typically, games will drop three times-- from 30%, 50%, then to the final drop of 75% off of the original price. Some people, however, have seen further drops up to 85%.

When games are marked down, the price change team typically find the game and scan it with their PDA/LRT to intiate the price change. However, in the case that they cannot find the game, they will either choose to not drop the price further or process the price change anyway, figuring that the game is somewhere in the store.

When posting deals, please include game, system, price, city and state. For example:
Debbie Does Skywalker, Xbox 360, $4.98
Mesa, AZ Power Road at Superstition Springs

Also, a great help when you're posting deals you've found is to check this post and see if your item's DPCI number is already listed. DPCI stands for Department, Class, Item-- it's Target's version of a SKU. These are a nine digit number that can always be found on your receipt and also on the red clearance tags on the item itself. DPCI numbers are handy to have when you want to check the item's price-- just go over to your scanner and punch in the numbers, if your scanners have keypads. Also, you can give these numbers to team members so they can check the availability of the item easily with their PDA scanners. Please post any DPCI numbers that are not already in the OP-- thanks!

Here is a fairly easy way to check your local Target's pricing-- often price tags will not be correct. Thanks to BigDirty for this:
1) Go to Half.com or a similar site. Search for the game to locate its UPC code number. It's in the gray box underneath the box art graphic.
2) Go to UPC Data ,Milk.com , or UPC Database and enter the code so you can print out the UPC. Go to Target and use the price scanners to scan your printouts.

Thanks to Mephitical for this tool for locating clearance titles, which is located here. Go to Amazon or Target to find the item's ASIN. When you find it, replace "B000O3IS48" in the URL with your item's ASIN. This will take you to a page asking you for your zip code. Type in your zip code and click enter-- this will display a list of local stores and whether or not they have your item in stock. YMMV on it working properly.

The lowest known price will be posted. The item could be higher or lower at your store. Numbers in yellow are DPCI numbers, which can be used to check the prices of items on newer scanners.

A vast majority of clearance items are universal at target but the pricing is not due to different stores having different mark down schedules. They should all follow roughly the same mark down prices over time, but when those mark downs are actually carried out varies by store to store...in my area, some stores are three to four weeks apart, so at one store game X might be 25% off while at another it might be 50 or 75% off.

What you most likely saw is an AS-IS clearance sticker. Means it was returned usually. I just saw one of Fear 2: Project Origin for $19.94 because it was missing it's dust jacket. If only I hadn't gotten the PS3 version of Goozex last week...
 
The Target in Long Beach, CA (33rd / Atlantic off the 405) had several copies of Prince of Persia for 14.98 and HSM 3 w/ pad for 9.98 (good for the pad if nothing else).

nah, if u read my post again it even said clearance on the sticker, not as-is. i have seen the as-is stickers before and that wasnt it

Was it larger white sticker with a red stripe in the middle where the price was? I just saw one like that too. Kinda weird. However, the price was the same as the other same games on clearance... just a different sticker.

I've seen that same sticker as well. I believe it's just another version of the regular clearance sticker (it's bigger, with some white in it I believe).

New style As-Is is what I'm talking about, don't know if it's the same thing you saw but I was thrown off by it as well. Says Clearance on the top, I believe in white with black outline. Red border with a white box with the pricing info. They hand wrote in the white box "As-Is - No cover" (meaning the dust jacket). It's not the wide and short As-Is tickets I normally see, it was a tall rectangle.

360 Guitar Hero III: $7.48 (20 copies or so - lol)

Those are the best prices I noticed. Their other clearance stuff was pretty average.

Saw these same 2 games at these prices at Bay Shore, NY store. Didn't pick either up. There were probably more than 20 GH#s lol. Also saw Afro Samuria (360) and Wheelman (ps3) for $41, Dead Rising (wii) for a price i can't remember... maybe 28-something.
 
Say it ain't so! My clearance endcap is gone. My target hasn't had one in a about two weeks. I've seen a couple of the game still in the glass though which is better than no clearance. I did snag Peggle for DS for $14 last night.
 
Anyone know of any good deals on guitar controllers out there right now? I'd be almost tempted to pick up GH3 for $7.48 for the hell of it, but I don't have the guitar controller, which would make it pretty much useless.

Really wish now that I'd bitten on the GH Aerosmith with the free guitar controller during the Game Days sale at GameStop, just to have the guitar. Didn't bother at the time because I don't really like Aerosmith that much.

I scored two copies of Afro Samurai for 14.98, two copies of Mortal Kombat vs. DC Universe for 29.98, and a copy of Prince of Persia for 14.98. All on 360. I left happy, needless to say.
 
Man, WTF is with everyone biting on MK vs DC at $30?? The game isn't that freaking good, and 2 copies? Did I miss some great trade in somewhere or something, I can get a copy cheaper off the bay. I called around all of the targets in my area (SW Fl) and not a single freaking store had a copy of the game left around here either, so what gives?

i also saw the 50 cent game at $42, Left for Dead at $35, and a crapload of Prince of Persia appeared in my store at $15. I picked one up even though I already have it on the PS3 -- now to decide which one to keep.

My store had added a few Wheelman (PS3) to the clearance bin, but I didn't check the price as I wasn't interested in it. I'll check it out next time I'm in and if it's $14.98 I can pick it up for you so long as you cover the cost + shipping.

I keep checking on PoP and Afro Samurai, but they're still $30 here =P

If you called every store in your area looking for a copy, I'm assuming you want to purchase a copy of MK vs DC for $30. If it isn't that "freaking good" then why are you looking to buy it? And if you can get it cheaper on eBay, then why don't you purchase it there? Just asking.

Actually no, I could have purchased several copies at that price already at Target, and I left them. What I want is the game at $15, but since everyone is snatching them up at the 50% price point (obviously) there's nothing left to drop to the magic price point. Which is mildly irritating because because yes, you can get it for a few bucks cheaper on the bay (with free shipping at that!) so it boggles the mind why it's being bought up so fast. I want the game, yeah, but I don't believe it was that big a hit to be disappearing that fast at the 50% off. I'm half wondering if there's some big trade in value somewhere for it.

$30 is a good price for a game that is $60 everywhere else (B&M). I'd say a lot of non-CAGs grab these because they don't know it will get cheaper. It isn't really something to stress about, just about every game (especially fighters) get real cheap at some time or another.
 
FYI - Pittsburgh

Target on McKnight RD near the mall doesn't have much of anything PoP - $30 in the glass. Scene It w/ controllers for $20, in the glass.

McKnight farther down had Scene It, can't remember the price but it was $28 I think.

Mt. Nebo Rd. has Lips for $35 still.

Oh I know man, it's not that I'm really that stressed about it, I'm just amazed since a lot of CAGers usually know better. I mean, this is CAG after all...getting games at the lowest price is the point, right? ;)

Either way the game will probably drop to sub $20 within the month, I just enjoy the hunt and the prospect of getting a good game at that price beforehand, and when it's kind of snatched up for no good reason really, it's just annoying.

Especially since bigger games are left in spades at $15 like Prince of Persia, etc.
 
Incidentally - and this is more related to the B2G1 sale @ Target, not clearance - has anyone found Red Faction at their local Target? Mine doesn't seem to be carrying it, and their website doesn't show it either.

Blood on the Sand is a game I've actually heard nothing but good things about but I refuse to pay $50 for it, great to hear its being clearanced.
 
New Berlin WI store has two Left 4 Dead $35, two Prince of Persia $15, and I think a MK vs. DC - don't remember the price. All 360.
 
Saw prince of persia for 14.98 xbox360, 50 Cent blood in the sand xbox 360 for 41.98, guitar hero III 34.98 (i think), 007 quantum of solace ps2 14.98, need for speed undercover xbox360 and wii 34.98, and some ds game but i did not bother to look since i don't own a ds. Target in So. Cali.

Target by my area has MK vs DC for 29.98 but i did not think it was worth 30 bucks would rather wait for it to be cheaper.

Also saw Left 4 dead for 34.98 or was it 41.98 i think it was 34.98 xbox360 version.
 
I know someone posted WWE Smackdown VS Raw 2009 was $13, just look at my local Elizabethtown, KY Target and they was still ringing up $24.97 even though they had a mess load. Anyone can confirm the $13 WWE SvR '09 anywhere?

Seriously what is the deal with these "As is" no box, yellow sleeves for games/br's? Is this some unofficial program that Target is testing in select areas or are there so many targets across the US taking back BR's/games and Corp needs to get rid of them and make a buck in the process?

Ipods and Zunes are in this out of box and in plastic baggies too.

Granted I'm only 30 min in, it's good. Simpler controls than before, elegant and satisfying combat, pseudo-open world structure, cool graphics. Def. worth $15.

It looks like the only game that dropped in my area is PoP. Everything else is still at 50% off. I checked the Target that had a bunch of Afro Samurai and they were all gone. I'm not sure if they dropped (didn't have DPCI handy) or if they were pulled. Hopefully, they were pulled and will be put back out when they drop further. It's happened to me before.

I was surprised to find a bunch of Smackdown vs Raw 2009 at Mt. Juliet, TN target for $12.48 each. I couldn't resist getting 4 to do the Amazon trade-in deal. There were about 15 remaining when I left. Nothing else of interest.

Saw a copy of WWE with a $7.48 sticker on it today. Got really excited and then noticed the other copies had 24.98 on them. Scan showed $24.98. Someone must have been trying the old switcheroo. I was going to see if they'd give me the lower price, but it didn't seem right. Oh well.
