This thread is for clearance-- not for sale items. Price reductions for clearance seem to happen on Monday, although not every Monday, but could also occur any day of the week depending on your store's price change team. Price adjustments on clearance are typically not allowed, but some have succeeded or have been able to do as return and rebuy.

Target often donates its older clearance titles to Goodwill stores, so keep that in mind when you're trying to find items. BigDirty: "Further reduction is possible when a game's price ends with 8 cents. However, when it ends in 4 cents it will NOT drop anymore. If it ends in 9 cents, it's just on sale or on a non-clearance reduction." Also, note that, typically, games will drop three times-- from 30%, 50%, then to the final drop of 75% off of the original price. Some people, however, have seen further drops up to 85%.

When games are marked down, the price change team typically find the game and scan it with their PDA/LRT to intiate the price change. However, in the case that they cannot find the game, they will either choose to not drop the price further or process the price change anyway, figuring that the game is somewhere in the store.

When posting deals, please include game, system, price, city and state. For example:
Debbie Does Skywalker, Xbox 360, $4.98
Mesa, AZ Power Road at Superstition Springs

Also, a great help when you're posting deals you've found is to check this post and see if your item's DPCI number is already listed. DPCI stands for Department, Class, Item-- it's Target's version of a SKU. These are a nine digit number that can always be found on your receipt and also on the red clearance tags on the item itself. DPCI numbers are handy to have when you want to check the item's price-- just go over to your scanner and punch in the numbers, if your scanners have keypads. Also, you can give these numbers to team members so they can check the availability of the item easily with their PDA scanners. Please post any DPCI numbers that are not already in the OP-- thanks!

Here is a fairly easy way to check your local Target's pricing-- often price tags will not be correct. Thanks to BigDirty for this:
1) Go to Half.com or a similar site. Search for the game to locate its UPC code number. It's in the gray box underneath the box art graphic.
2) Go to UPC Data ,Milk.com , or UPC Database and enter the code so you can print out the UPC. Go to Target and use the price scanners to scan your printouts.

Thanks to Mephitical for this tool for locating clearance titles, which is located here. Go to Amazon or Target to find the item's ASIN. When you find it, replace "B000O3IS48" in the URL with your item's ASIN. This will take you to a page asking you for your zip code. Type in your zip code and click enter-- this will display a list of local stores and whether or not they have your item in stock. YMMV on it working properly.

The lowest known price will be posted. The item could be higher or lower at your store. Numbers in yellow are DPCI numbers, which can be used to check the prices of items on newer scanners.

Thanks for saving me the trip. That was the last one that I had to check. There are no L4D's hidden at the W or S Lansing locations either.

There have been plenty of times that I check the scanner for the price of a game and it isn't on the shelves or cabinet but it says "STOCK ROOM: YES". Then a few days later they will appear on the clearance area. I think sometimes they never refilled the cabinet and so they go straight from the back to the clearance area. I saw this with the 50 Cent game just recently.

No problem. Yeah the Okemos store was the last of the three that I checked at. I'm going to be going to Jackson tomorrow so I'll check there.

I'll repeat: Battlestations: Pacific for the 360 is going down to $41.xx

I saw it at the Niles, OH Target yesterday on clearance.

Hey dunno if anyone has found any but I was able to get a Western Digital My Book Essential Edition 320Gb for 55.98. It's very YMMV since I only found it at 2 of 5 Targets but if you can find one you can hook it up to a DVD player with a usb connector to play video files. It's good stuff.

[207-22-0138] Guitar Hero III (added 05-11-09) (price updated: 05-31-09)

Is this the bundle or game only? If it is just game only does anyone know where I can get the bundle for cheap, meaning ummm about $15 or less.

That's the game only. I picked it up today.(last copy in Streetsboro, OH)

I saw the WD HDD at 2 of the 3 I was at today.(Chapel Hill, OH and Streetsboro)

My local Target had no changes in game prices this week:
Fear 2 $24
50 cent - BoS $41
Hawx - $41

And I was eyeballing the last Riddick at $29 and today it was gone. I guess another cheap ass got it because I was waiting for one more price drop damn it!

It is the game only. The Bundle is 19.99 at all of the Best Buys that I've visited lately. That's where I got one anyway. I don't know if it's YMMV, but I've found it for that in ND and MN.

My Targets have the shittiest deals ever.

Nothing in the clearance aisle aside from a shitload of Pokemon Sapphires and Wii shovelware. The only think worth a mention are the half dozen Endwar bluetooth bundles at 50% off. Hopefully they last until the 75% off mark so I can snag a copy.

This is in Irvine, CA. Barranca/Culver and Jamboree/Barranca Targets.

Doubtful you will find it at this point as it has been $4.97 for a month but it is that price at Sears for the bundle.

Those Pokemon Sapphires are probably way more valuable than those Endwar bundles, FYI, those are pretty excellent trading fodder and far from a shitty deal, especially if they have dropped to $17.48.

You have to be there on Monday. If you wait any longer it's too late.

I tried to pick up FEAR 2 on Tuesday last week at Market Place and the 8+ copies that were there Sunday were already gone. Serious hording in this region.
Hey dunno if anyone has found any but I was able to get a Western Digital My Book Essential Edition 320Gb for 55.98. It's very YMMV since I only found it at 2 of 5 Targets but if you can find one you can hook it up to a DVD player with a usb connector to play video files. It's good stuff.
wow 55.98? it's 39.98 at my Target.. was going to try to wait for another drop as I have a 620 and don't really need an extra

There were still about 8 copies left of FEAR 2 at Barranca/Culver Target around 6pm on Monday after I picked up one for $12.48. There are a lot of hoarders around the OC, so if you don't make it by Monday then you are SOL. Especially after FW and SD post the new markdowns. :bomb:

The true OC CAG's should band together to help each other out before the masses become aware of the markdowns.

Yeah I've started to notice this as well. Saw about 15 copies of NFS: Underground disappear within a day @ the Harbor Blvd Target in Costa Mesa and I remember seeing at least 20-30 copies of FEAR 2 at that Barranca/Culver Target just a week or two ago. I haven't been to any of the targets in the South OC/Lake Forest area in the past week or two, so I wonder if its the same for those stores.

Now that I read about all these ridiculous deals at Target, I'm tempted to go there and hope it's not a dud.. :p, I live by the Joliet, IL one..
By any chance, are any of these Riddicks you guys are seeing for PS3?
unfortunately no, 360 version

yeah unfortunately for the area that I'm in (SoCal - IE) a lot of hoarders are around here and the two that I saw at one store were gone by the time I went back to grab one for a buddy of mine. It's the same with games out here.

A couple of weeks ago there were a stack of GH at least 20 deep and by the next week hit they were gone. Turns out some hoarder came in and cleaned them out of all of them one day. The clerk was suprised to see someone buy so many. feels just like the BBY $10 sale when i saw idiots walkin around with 5+ copies thinkin they could get a nice profit LoL.

Hoarders suck. And to the guy who said something about banding together, all your gonna get is slack around here because it's first come first serve and the hoarders camp out to buy the clearance games because of their sickness. They flip em as they call it for a profit and they are the ultimate CAG's (read a-holes).

Myself and another CAG are trying to help each other out in Vegas, but we can't find any deals that are mentioned here. It would seem that Vegas doesn't get the same markdowns as other regions as we both could find Fear 2, but it was still $25. I have not seen a 360 game reach $12.48 yet in Vegas as they all get snatched up at higher prices. The Endwar bundles have been $41.98 for at least 4 weeks here and I'm sure when they do get marked down, whoever seems to snatch the games in Vegas will get to them before either of us do. I would only buy the game for the blue-tooth anyway as it's not my genre of game. I do hope to get that 50 Cent game at a good price someday and they seem to have a lot at $41.98 in Vegas, hoping a markdown is coming this Monday to $20 as I would pay that for it.

Well I'm not excatly sure if they are still there but the Target in Orland IL had a nice stack of clerance titles. About 8 Fear 2 copies at $24.00 umong other things. I myself picked up Ninja Blade for $20. This was last Friday though.

Oh, I already have got some deals out of this thread, and this was more of a jab at the hoarders then anything else. When I say profit, go through this thread and some of the hoarders brag about how they bought something for $10-$15 to trade in for $17-$20. Nothing wrong with hoarding if you have the money and the time, personally for the little bit you can get out of it sometimes, my job pays me more so I would rather spend an hour working then an hour hoarding.

Still hoping that 50 Cent Blood in the Sand game goes down again this week though, although in Vegas they don't seem to drop as quickly as other markets as Fear 2 isn't going to make it to $12.48.

An either way, most of these games will eventually come down to my price anyway, it just feels damn good when you do get a deal sometimes. Don't know what it is about it, it just feels good.

its a GREAT feeling! another suggestion would be to post in your CAG regional post..... and see if anyone else would be willing to pick up ur games... maybe throw them 3 bucks or something... feed the addiction.. lol

I sent the g/f down to the Culver Target to pick up FEAR 2 Monday so thankfully I got a copy.

Agreed on helping each other out. If there's a game someone really wants but they just can't make it to a Target on a Monday, someone else should be able to pick up a copy before the eBay'ers get to it.

This idea of teaming up is a good idea. Maybe we should make a thread somewhere for people who are open to this idea of working together to find deals in otherwise tough markets.

If anyone around the Waukegan IL, or even maybe between Chicago and Milwaukee area, wants to join up to try and find the good deals send me a PM, I'm still trying to find L4D since the targets here are out, Lewis Ave Tget has nothing decent and Gurnee is wiped clean.

Just hit the Reston, VA target. Appears nothing is in stock worth mentioning there now other than the End War bundle that is still priced high.
what is the cheapest price of the end war bundle? My local target has bout 10 of those for $44.99
I've seen it in MN for $22.48

Can someone explain the concept of hoarding when its mentioned on this site? Are you referring to people who buy these games only to sell them or trade them at higher prices? Or are there possibly people out there who just get 3+ copies of a game and keep it forever?? Or maybe open one and play one??

I consider myself a 'collector' but you won't find any sealed copies or duplicates on me, I enjoy playing everything I get at least once, damn the mint condition of it - where is the enjoyment?

It might NOT be hoarders you guys!!! The 3 Targets in my area all had AT LEAST a dozen or two copies at EACH store of that new Scene IT Box of Smash game with 4 controllers for 19.xx but i was waiting for it to drop to 9.xx before i'd bite and a week later i went to check and THEY WERE ALL GONE. So i doubt a hoarder spent a few hundred dollars to buy all. From what i know Target sends stuff that doesn't sell on clearance to the Salvation Army so i assume that's what may have happened there and to other items as well!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Is 22.xx 75% off on those Endwar Bundles? If they are, I'm gonna have to go look for one (if I can still find one!)
people that buy 5+ copies to resell for a profit is usually what they refer to.
Also employee's (at least in my area, it's a long story, but I have first hand evidence), but what can you do ?

They supposedly send it to Goodwill in my area, but I have been there many times, and nothing ever, may be employees, don't know, there are a lot of scavengers around here (O.C. CA.) Only thing I have gotten lately was R. and Clank TOD for $14.99 and Gran Turismo for $10

ah, that's what I figured. on one of my Target trips, I did see a guy with like 5 copies of Guitar Hero 3 for the PS3 headed for the checkout and couldn't understand why. This just kills it for everyone else! But still, I guess it's whoever buys them from this guy fault for not knowing better, nor being a CAG-er!

Has anyone else been able to use the stock checker lately? Every time I've tried for the past 2 weeks it has always said "sorry our inventory system is currently unavailable." Its nice when it works so I have an idea of what games my secondary Target that is 35 minutes away has before I decide to go or not.

With some you're not going to get it. Fear 2 and MK vs DC you won't because they take it out of the system. Before you type in your zip look at the picture of what you're looking at, if it has the info like the game title and whatnot it will show up. If not you're a bit sol.
I saw a bunch of the end war bundle still at 44.xx. Anyone know when they drop prices? Monday or Tuesday?
YMMV. It depends on each individual store's clearance team. Most do it Mondays but some Targets (atleast in my area) don't do it until Thursday.

The South OC Targets have been pretty weak lately. FEAR 2 disappeared from South County fast, most went once it hit 50% off. Not a whole lot of selection or price drops, with one Target even getting rid of their clearance section. They now have their few clearance games locked up behind the glass, and they don't last all that long where everyone notices them.

Good luck OC cags!
