This thread is for clearance-- not for sale items. Price reductions for clearance seem to happen on Monday, although not every Monday, but could also occur any day of the week depending on your store's price change team. Price adjustments on clearance are typically not allowed, but some have succeeded or have been able to do as return and rebuy.

Target often donates its older clearance titles to Goodwill stores, so keep that in mind when you're trying to find items. BigDirty: "Further reduction is possible when a game's price ends with 8 cents. However, when it ends in 4 cents it will NOT drop anymore. If it ends in 9 cents, it's just on sale or on a non-clearance reduction." Also, note that, typically, games will drop three times-- from 30%, 50%, then to the final drop of 75% off of the original price. Some people, however, have seen further drops up to 85%.

When games are marked down, the price change team typically find the game and scan it with their PDA/LRT to intiate the price change. However, in the case that they cannot find the game, they will either choose to not drop the price further or process the price change anyway, figuring that the game is somewhere in the store.

When posting deals, please include game, system, price, city and state. For example:
Debbie Does Skywalker, Xbox 360, $4.98
Mesa, AZ Power Road at Superstition Springs

Also, a great help when you're posting deals you've found is to check this post and see if your item's DPCI number is already listed. DPCI stands for Department, Class, Item-- it's Target's version of a SKU. These are a nine digit number that can always be found on your receipt and also on the red clearance tags on the item itself. DPCI numbers are handy to have when you want to check the item's price-- just go over to your scanner and punch in the numbers, if your scanners have keypads. Also, you can give these numbers to team members so they can check the availability of the item easily with their PDA scanners. Please post any DPCI numbers that are not already in the OP-- thanks!

Here is a fairly easy way to check your local Target's pricing-- often price tags will not be correct. Thanks to BigDirty for this:
1) Go to Half.com or a similar site. Search for the game to locate its UPC code number. It's in the gray box underneath the box art graphic.
2) Go to UPC Data ,Milk.com , or UPC Database and enter the code so you can print out the UPC. Go to Target and use the price scanners to scan your printouts.

Thanks to Mephitical for this tool for locating clearance titles, which is located here. Go to Amazon or Target to find the item's ASIN. When you find it, replace "B000O3IS48" in the URL with your item's ASIN. This will take you to a page asking you for your zip code. Type in your zip code and click enter-- this will display a list of local stores and whether or not they have your item in stock. YMMV on it working properly.

The lowest known price will be posted. The item could be higher or lower at your store. Numbers in yellow are DPCI numbers, which can be used to check the prices of items on newer scanners.
This is yet another rant in relation to the cost of shipping...

I use media mail all the time, rates fluctuate constantly and depending on the distance the package has to travel the rate goes up. you wont send a package from california to new york for $2.09 unless its a normal sized letter. its also very easy to check those rates on usps.com.

As for the bubble mailer, you're on cag, that fact alone means you should already have an idea of what methods can save on shipping for all parties involved, not just cause you're doing someone else a favor, but because that favor may be returned some day. I'm sure 98% of the users on this site go past a major retail chain at least once a week, if they arent already shopping there. you can easily pick up small boxes(which protect the item better than a low quality pos bubble mailer thats easily crushed by the usps machining equipment). throw in crumpled news paper or any kind of paper and the item is very well protected, and since boxed wont go through the machine. Incase you were unaware....
blockbuster, hollywood, movie gallery, walmart, **TARGET**, kmart, all grocery stores, and just about any retail store you walk into, throw away hundreds of cardboard boxes nearly every day. No employee will ever say 'no, you cant have that empty box' because you're saving him from doing more work, and it doesnt cost the company a cent, saves them from having to pay to ship back that cardboard at the end of the month for recycling. many times you will be able to easily find a few empty boxes on the floor, and if not, can easily ask any employee entering or exiting the stockroom if there happens to be any small boxes that havent gone to the compactor yet.

The basic fact is you should treat other cags how you want to be treated, if a cag asks for a specific type of mailing to be used how hard is it to slap a media mail label on it from paypal and tell them "it costs 2.50 extra for the shipping", i really doubt anyone here, even mr 13.60/hr, would tell you no. And yes, some of us have financial difficulties that make it hard for us to get all the gaming needs satisfied, so having to pay that extra dollar because you were too lazy to grab a couple boxes when you're out at the store getting milk & bread for the week isnt very desirable either.

If its too much of a hassle for you to try and save us some money when some of us are doing our best to save you some money, then dont bother to help out, you're not doing us any favors by failing to consider the reason most of us are here.

Anyone in Northeast IL seen the Tomb Raider Anniversary on 360 clearanced? I'd like to find a copy if its out there.
Considering everyone else agrees with me, it's a good thing that you spoilered your rant.

Look, nobody cares how much it costs. We can go over and over the relative costs of media vs 1st class and bubble mailer vs free boxes. For anyone who isn't unemployed or living in their parents basement: Time is the most important entity. And finding a box takes time. Finding a cheaper bubble mailer takes time.

The point is about people are so goddamned cheap, they offer LESS than any reasonable cost to send a game when the person picking it up for you is doing you a favor. Most people on here will happily pick up an extra copy for their fellow CAGs but why would they do it if it's a hassle for them?

If you asked a friend to pick you up a quart of milk while they're running an errand, do you say "oh but make sure it's
Anyone know what Targets in San Diego still still have the Socom bundle? I tried Santee and El Cajon this morning.
I havent seen any in the Grossmont center or Mission Valley target. Just guitar hero bundles;)
Ratchet and clank for PS3 is 7.xx in MA, Watertown
Wow, I would love to find that. I don't even think my Target has Ratchet and Clank, their selection is pretty low anyway. Here I thought the $30 price was good :D
I havent seen any in the Grossmont center or Mission Valley target. Just guitar hero bundles;)
The Palomar location in south Chula Vista had about five on Saturday at $30. I'm sure they are probably gone by now, especially if they dropped again yesterday. Plaza Bonita and East Lake didn't have them as of Saturday.

Shipping often spoils a deal IMHO, when the cost of shipping starts to approach 5$, most deals start to seem average at best. I have yet to see a letter damaged by USPS, I'm sure it happens, but it must be rare. I don't even bubble wrap my games anymore, I just send them in an envelope. They still can't go through the machine as the packages is too thick and I have no complaints with 50+ goozex trades under my belt.

I do agree with the previous posters point about convenience and doing someone a favor. Time is a premium when your an adult holding a job with kids, frankly days can go by before you have time to do basic chores (picking up special boxes), and I'm guessing most CAG'rs are not going to pay a premium for the boxes sold at the USPS stores. If I can't use the automated USPS machines and have to stand in line at the post office, it's an easy 30 mins lost forever.

Grabbed Cryostasis for $14; wanted to wait for the drop to $7 but was the last copy left and the only other Target around here with it only has one copy and it's still at $20.

I can't believe this is even a discussion at this point.

Look . . . I don't mind picking things up for people at Target from time to time (assuming that I'm not having to go way out of my way for it -- if it's the Target near to my office, it's no big deal; another one will depend on whether I have time and any reason to go that way). But if I'm picking up a game for you in Target, I'm also going to buy the mailer (whether it be a bubble mailer or something else) in Target. I'm not going to run around looking for the best price on bubble mailers to save you a few cents. That's my time, my gas, etc. that you're asking me to use, without compensation. Forget it. If you want it, you can pay Target's price. If you want some packaging other than a bubble mailer, then you should expect to pay the cost of buying that packaging from Target (I don't keep boxes sitting around at home, because I don't have room to store them, and I'm not going to beg for and deal with store boxes that aren't even the right size).

Other costs, such as tax, are also your responsibility, not mine. Why should I have to pay that for you?

I will also ship it by the method that you request, assuming that you are willing to pay the full cost for that method. I will, however, insist that you pay for delivery confirmation -- that protects me in case there's an issue, but it's a cost of sending you your game. I will mail it at my convenience -- fortunately, there's also a post office down the street from my work that I can run to during lunch on most days, but if there's a delay because I can't get there conveniently, too bad.

Finally, I will accept (and, in fact, prefer) PayPal, but I will expect you to cover the fees. Again, there's no reason that you should expect me to eat that cost.

That's not "being cheap", it's expecting not to have to take a hit for helping someone out that I don't even know. I'm not asking for compensation for the time, gas, etc. that it does take (though I wouldn't argue if you wanted to throw in a few bucks for it, I won't ask for it if I'm not going to too much trouble because I know that in many cases it would kill the deal), I'm simply asking for you to cover any and all outright expenses involved, and to not expect me to spend any more of those resources that I'm not being compensated for than I have to. If there's a margin of error in that, it should be in your direction, not mine.

There have been times when I've underestimated the amount that it was all going to cost by a little bit, and when that's occurred, I've sucked it up and taken the hit. Not a huge deal. But if you're going to be an asshole and go in knowing that you're offering me less than it will cost me to pick up and send a game to you or you're expecting me to go far out of my way to save every last penny, and you're going to act like an entitled little bitch about it, then you can go fuck yourself, I don't want to deal with you. It's not even so much the cost as it is the principle.

And yes, I realize that all of these costs often kill the deal. Too bad. That's something you have to decide for yourself, but don't try to salvage the deal at the expense of the person helping you out.

Really, "discussions" like this make me not even want to bother.

Found a lone copy of LOTR: Conquest (PS3) for $7.48.
Must have been recently put out.
Snagged it for that price.....figure it can't be that bad.

Gah, these "shipping and buying clearance games" ordeal really must irk people. All I see are people saying go fuck yourself, etc.

Does not getting a buck or two for your troubles here and there really piss people off THAT much?

I don't mean to add fuel to the fire, but that can be flipped around right back at you. Would paying that extra buck or two really be THAT BAD for YOU?

Not a SINGLE person who ships out games to strangers for COST is someone that says "go fuck yourself." In fact, anyone who does ship out games for cost is being a nice guy.

It's the attitude you have of "well, what's losing a dollar or two... even if you are the one doing me a favor." In fact, YOU are the one telling the shipper to go fuck themselves because you think you're entitled to something which you're not.

Christ man, did your parents not teach you anything about being a gentleman?

No it's YOUR perceived attitude of 'Eat the loss so I can gain' that is pissing people off.

If you're willing to eat a loss for a stranger on the internet, go nuts.

Most people aren't.

No one said anything about getting a buck or two for their troubles (in fact, I'm pretty sure that I even said outright that I don't expect that). It's about not expecting to have to pay out money on top of our troubles. I don't see why this is so hard to get.
Not a SINGLE person who ships out games to strangers for COST is someone that says "go fuck yourself."
To be fair, I did say that anyone that knowingly expects me to ship out for less than cost can go fuck themselves. And I stand behind that assertion. ;)

All the fees, shipping materials, etc are always conveniently forgotten by the buyer. I find the whole experience to be a major frustration which is why I only trade games via goozex. It removes all the haggling, begging, etc.

I hate ppl who think the world owes them a favor, spoilt fuckers in my opinion.

I would like to apologize for asking him to pick up a game for me. I misread his post and lowballed the offer based on that. I also didn't know I was supposed to PM him that information. I now know.

I don't want anyone losing money or going out of their way to get me a cheap game. That's completely unreasonable. I should have posted "if you have time, are near that target, and wouldn't mind picking it up I would gladly take a copy." However, I did not, and lowballed him on accident, so i apologize.

Who let the adult in here?

My god, why don't you guys take your S&H diatribes to the Target trading thread and leave this thread for clearance discussion.

On that note, some new 360 games I've seen clearanced this week:
Dynasty Warriors 6: Empires -- $27.xx
Terminator: Salvation -- $34.xx (I think, I only glanced at it. If so it's still $5 more than at GS new)

Ok, well to let this argument stay in the past, I'll admit that I am more responsive to what most of y'all want when buying now. The fact being: Just because I might not care about petty costs, etc.... others might.

I usually stockpile bubble mailers, so when I grab one, I'm thinking "One less from my pile" not "Well, this is another $0.65 the buyer owes me", but I can understand how others may feel differently.

That said, I still stand behind my statmenet earlier of: As long as you pay me cost, tax, and shipping, I don't mind going through the trouble of getting you what you want...just because I love going to Target and Best Buy so much :D

Well, now that that's settled...I'm off to get Heroes Season 3 :bouncy:
Yes, Terminator: Salvation is on clearance for $34.xx

I saw it Sunday in Niles, OH.
Terminator has easy achievements for those of you who care. I also saw Wii Smarter than 5th Grader for 10$ yesterday, and Puzzle Quest: Galactarix on clearance (I don't recall the price).

Last week Star Wars Force Unleashed was $13.xx at my Target. Sadly today there were no copies. I shouldn't have waited. :whistle2:(

Picked up Rock Band 2 today for $12.48... Not bad at that price.

I also saw one Target in Richmond, VA today that has quite a few PS3 Guitar Hero: World Tour at 22.48 (the one guitar package with the updated guitar). It's the one out on Broad by Barnes & Noble, etc.
Just picked up WWE Legends of Wrestling for $14.98. Not bad at all.
That's the one I'm hoping for, its still $29.98 at the Targets near me.

Wow. Every time I check out CAG the forums have gotten worse and worse. Maybe it's the economy that's driving all the whack jobs here.

If someone is gonna hook you up, you should do the same. Give them $5, on top of all their costs or something. I helped out a dude on the internet with some graphics for free and afterwords he gave me $20 in MS points. Try being nice to people, it's a good feeling.

Well I'm new to this, so I have a question. I'm especially interested in the 2 Wii new play control titles for 7.98 ( or 7. Something) so if I go to my Target, will the games be in the glass case with the clearance price or be on the place where they clearance games usually are? Or will the game be on the glass self with the MSRP and ring up with the clearance price? I know this differs by store, but if anyone has gotten clearance games recently or even the npc wii titles and can tell me that would begreatly appreciated. :)

Just recently (dont know if this is old news or not) I saw some clearance on some patapon 2 psp games. for about a mere 10$

Those are down to $4.98 at my local Target.

I was interested in those as well they most likely won't even be marked down Static. Both stores in my immediate area had them at 29.99 and I called 6 other stores and all rang up at that price. Its very much YMMV.
Did you guys happen to grab the DPCI on those external drives?
Looks like it should be 080000660. It's the number on the far left of the receipt, aye?

This is for the 500GB model.

So anyone have any idea if these WD externals will see price drops like games do? Saw some today at two stores, but I was hoping the 1TB might drop further.

At the Warwick Mall Target I saw Dead Space (PS3) $14.xx and Dynasty Warriors Strikeforce (PSP) $9.9x.

In my targets the GH:WT Single guitar and dual guitar bundles are the same price.

But it looks like the guitars are different. Is the one that's packaged with the single guitar better?

im no expert but i think the difference in guitars is the dual ones are les pauls at least theyve been that way in other dual guitar deals i personally like the wt guitar the best but thats personal preference im pretty terrible either way lol

It depends. Rarely, the clearance games are behind the glass. I once saw Madworld for $20.xx behind the glass, but that's all I can recall. The rest are usually tossed into an end-cap display near the movies. Ask an employee working around the area, they'll point it out. There's usually large red 'Clearance' tags sticking out.

Clearance games will have little orange stickers on them with the indicated prices. I'd advise going to a price check machine anyway though, you never know if the sticker wasn't updated, or if the game was hidden and thus overlooked.

I haven't seen the NPC games going on clearance near me, but I've heard Pikmin dropped to $20.xx in some places.
