This thread is for clearance-- not for sale items. Price reductions for clearance seem to happen on Monday, although not every Monday, but could also occur any day of the week depending on your store's price change team. Price adjustments on clearance are typically not allowed, but some have succeeded or have been able to do as return and rebuy.

Target often donates its older clearance titles to Goodwill stores, so keep that in mind when you're trying to find items. BigDirty: "Further reduction is possible when a game's price ends with 8 cents. However, when it ends in 4 cents it will NOT drop anymore. If it ends in 9 cents, it's just on sale or on a non-clearance reduction." Also, note that, typically, games will drop three times-- from 30%, 50%, then to the final drop of 75% off of the original price. Some people, however, have seen further drops up to 85%.

When games are marked down, the price change team typically find the game and scan it with their PDA/LRT to intiate the price change. However, in the case that they cannot find the game, they will either choose to not drop the price further or process the price change anyway, figuring that the game is somewhere in the store.

When posting deals, please include game, system, price, city and state. For example:
Debbie Does Skywalker, Xbox 360, $4.98
Mesa, AZ Power Road at Superstition Springs

Also, a great help when you're posting deals you've found is to check this post and see if your item's DPCI number is already listed. DPCI stands for Department, Class, Item-- it's Target's version of a SKU. These are a nine digit number that can always be found on your receipt and also on the red clearance tags on the item itself. DPCI numbers are handy to have when you want to check the item's price-- just go over to your scanner and punch in the numbers, if your scanners have keypads. Also, you can give these numbers to team members so they can check the availability of the item easily with their PDA scanners. Please post any DPCI numbers that are not already in the OP-- thanks!

Here is a fairly easy way to check your local Target's pricing-- often price tags will not be correct. Thanks to BigDirty for this:
1) Go to Half.com or a similar site. Search for the game to locate its UPC code number. It's in the gray box underneath the box art graphic.
2) Go to UPC Data ,Milk.com , or UPC Database and enter the code so you can print out the UPC. Go to Target and use the price scanners to scan your printouts.

Thanks to Mephitical for this tool for locating clearance titles, which is located here. Go to Amazon or Target to find the item's ASIN. When you find it, replace "B000O3IS48" in the URL with your item's ASIN. This will take you to a page asking you for your zip code. Type in your zip code and click enter-- this will display a list of local stores and whether or not they have your item in stock. YMMV on it working properly.

The lowest known price will be posted. The item could be higher or lower at your store. Numbers in yellow are DPCI numbers, which can be used to check the prices of items on newer scanners.

Picked up Star Wars: The Force Unleashed :360: today for $7.xx in Hampton Roads, VA.

I wanted Riddick for PS3, but they didn't have any there. Wasn't in the mood to drive to the other Targets.

Saw a lot of copies of:

I wouldn't think so. It's just a check system put in place so kids aren't buying mature games that their parents may not want them playing. They scan the ID and get the info from the DMV to make sure that the purchaser is at or over the legal limit.

If they ARE storing that data for their own use, I'd like to believe that's illegal as hell, but I'm no criminal justice major, so I wouldn't know.
 
I missed out on the 120 GB price drops... I see the 60 GB is dropping.
I don't know to just grab a 60GB or wait until MS releases another HD that's larger.
The only problem with waiting for MS to release another size HD is that it will probably cost $200+

Did Target drop the price of the 120gb? I think my store still has a few, but they are still full price and I know they have some 60gb for $100. I know that Kmart and Sear's was getting rid of these, but I didn't know about Target.

Would love to snag another hard drive for cheap. My 60gb is almost full and I've only had it about a month and a half (would have got the Elite but didn't want the black system) so I'd like to get another one so I don't run out of room :D

I think it's just to make sure you are over the age and the ID is fake or real. It's a hassle when they do this since I try to minimize the number of items I take out of my wallet. ergh

Maybe someone should ask next time they do this to see what they say.

yeah same...i was just at target too and i dont feel like driving back out there if theres no guarantee itll be there... wish i wouldve known about that....hmmm maybe i should call? after all i do have 3 targets in my area...
 
I was looking for :ps3: X-Blades but couldn't find it anywhere so it must have dropped to 14.98. Damnit. I wanted to give it a chance at that price. I did see plenty of :ps3: Bionic Commando for 14.98, :ps3: 50 Cent Blood for 14.98 and a lot of PS2 games but didn't pay enough attention.

Uncharted was clearanced out a LONG time ago, well before it went greatest hits. Anyone finding it today is extremely, extremely lucky, especially because of the GH version being out would mean it's likely back up to full price. ($30)

Picked up NCAA Football 09 for $7.xx today and... got carded. Was standing there not paying attention and the lady asked if I had ID. Was just like WTF it's E, didn't make much sense but no harm in the end.

Target in Katy, TX off 99 had 8 copies of Socom PS3 / headset for $14.98. None of them had price stickers, which was odd...so I checked it with the scanner, and smiled happily!

Also, what is the word on Heavenly Creatures for the Wii? they have it at $7.48

I missed out on the 120GB price drops at Kmart and Sears... Target on the other hand has a price drop on the 60GB(according to this forum).

I prefer the 120GB or whatever comes out next, but I can settle for a 60GB until I move up to an elite.....

How much the Target I frequent have a couple 60gb.
 
So i was Target the other days and saw 50 cent BiTS, i took it to a scanner it said 19.99 is this correct or if i take it to a cashier will the price be at $12.xx like everyone else is getting?

What is it marked? If it was marked $12.xx then you could just say something in line if it rang up $19.99.

Had my mother pick me up a ps3 guitar hero bundle for 22 bucks in Illinois....

Good thing too cause its either sold out here or holding at 64 bucks.....
 
I am going to try to find one of the GH World Tour 360 guitar bundles ($22.48), but if any CAGs have an extra one, I'd be interested in buying it. Hopefully I can track one of these down. I need the guitar/game! And I can't beat that price.

I think all Targets should be getting Drake's Fortune back in stock... The shelf price is showing 14.98 again like if it was on clearance. (Checked two days ago) If you all remember same thing happened with Ratchet & Clank & GT Prologue. They should be coming in soon I think. Keep an eye out for that. Hopefully I can get it at that price... I'll check back today and report back...

Yeh, I been getting anxious for them to get them in myself. Seen the 14.98 in the glass and its just there to tease apparently cause none of the stores have it in yet.
 
I was lucky enough to get Drakes at $14.98 many many months ago. That game is awesome and that price is more than a steal.

Target had the 120s on clearance back in March/April. I picked up one for around $90 but I think they were found for even lower.

Man, I'm kicking myself right now.

I went to Target Saturday hoping to catch the markdowns because the last time I found a bunch of deals it was on a Saturday. Based on the visits I had made that week, my assumption was that they marked everything down on Friday. So, I went in on Saturday and nothing was marked down. The first half of my week so far has been busy and since I never find any good deals at Target in the beginning of the week, I decided I wouldn't make the trip over and hope to find something.

Of course, I made the wrong decision once again. I went to Target tonight and basically everything was gone, except for a handful of games.

For Wii all the shovelware was completely gone, the only thing they had was My Sims Kingdom for $13.98, which I decided to pass on.

For PS2 they had various game, I know the Friends game was still there, Ratchet and Clank was $7.48 (I believe) and a couple others, but I didn't pay much attention.

PC, I saw Wall-E and something like Cryptosis, but I don't really play on the PC much anymore, so I didn't pay attention.

DS, they had a couple quit smoking coaches and a fitness game as well as Spectrobes for $4.98. I grabbed a Spectrobes since I already bought it at $9.98, so I will return the higher priced one.

360, they had like one game left, wasn't interested in and I forgot what it was now.

PS3, they had Warhawk and one other one for $7.48, nothing of interest so I left them.

PSP, Monster Jam for $7.48 and another one, but can't remember what and then Patapon 2 for $4.98 which I decided to grab.

Other than that they did have the Guitar Hero stuff finally dropped from $45. It looks like the World Tour bundle was just a single guitar and then a Les Paul guitar, both sets $17.48. I was tempted to get the Les Paul because it looks nice and I would like to get another guitar for either PS3 or 360 since those are the systems I tend to find the cheap Guitar Hero and Rockband games for. But, I'm hoping to find one of the cheap sets eventually, so I deicded to leave it.

Everything else I'd been waiting on, hoping would drop was gone. Pretty much everything was gone other than what I listed. So, all in all, I'm very mad I decided not to go. What makes it worse is the fact I cannot, for the life of me, figure out my Target's schedule. I think more than anything, they randomly decide when they are going to do it and don't have a schedule.

I'm going to check to see if Monsters vs. Aliens dropped any lower next time I go and if it did I'm going to see if they would be willing to price match. Pretty sure I won't get that lucky, but all the employees that run customer service have been very friendly and helpful, so maybe I will get lucky. If not, I will just return it since I'm sure finding it for under $24.98 will be quite simple.
