This thread is for clearance-- not for sale items. Price reductions for clearance seem to happen on Monday, although not every Monday, but could also occur any day of the week depending on your store's price change team. Price adjustments on clearance are typically not allowed, but some have succeeded or have been able to do as return and rebuy.

Target often donates its older clearance titles to Goodwill stores, so keep that in mind when you're trying to find items. BigDirty: "Further reduction is possible when a game's price ends with 8 cents. However, when it ends in 4 cents it will NOT drop anymore. If it ends in 9 cents, it's just on sale or on a non-clearance reduction." Also, note that, typically, games will drop three times-- from 30%, 50%, then to the final drop of 75% off of the original price. Some people, however, have seen further drops up to 85%.

When games are marked down, the price change team typically find the game and scan it with their PDA/LRT to intiate the price change. However, in the case that they cannot find the game, they will either choose to not drop the price further or process the price change anyway, figuring that the game is somewhere in the store.

When posting deals, please include game, system, price, city and state. For example:
Debbie Does Skywalker, Xbox 360, $4.98
Mesa, AZ Power Road at Superstition Springs

Also, a great help when you're posting deals you've found is to check this post and see if your item's DPCI number is already listed. DPCI stands for Department, Class, Item-- it's Target's version of a SKU. These are a nine digit number that can always be found on your receipt and also on the red clearance tags on the item itself. DPCI numbers are handy to have when you want to check the item's price-- just go over to your scanner and punch in the numbers, if your scanners have keypads. Also, you can give these numbers to team members so they can check the availability of the item easily with their PDA scanners. Please post any DPCI numbers that are not already in the OP-- thanks!

Here is a fairly easy way to check your local Target's pricing-- often price tags will not be correct. Thanks to BigDirty for this:
1) Go to Half.com or a similar site. Search for the game to locate its UPC code number. It's in the gray box underneath the box art graphic.
2) Go to UPC Data ,Milk.com , or UPC Database and enter the code so you can print out the UPC. Go to Target and use the price scanners to scan your printouts.

Thanks to Mephitical for this tool for locating clearance titles, which is located here. Go to Amazon or Target to find the item's ASIN. When you find it, replace "B000O3IS48" in the URL with your item's ASIN. This will take you to a page asking you for your zip code. Type in your zip code and click enter-- this will display a list of local stores and whether or not they have your item in stock. YMMV on it working properly.

The lowest known price will be posted. The item could be higher or lower at your store. Numbers in yellow are DPCI numbers, which can be used to check the prices of items on newer scanners.

no luck at my target, tomb raider, mass effect are both still 19.99 and the fallout expansion is 13.98 (I'm waiting for 9.98).

I saw Tiger Woods for the Wii that's packaged with the Wii Motion Plus on mark-down but I forget how much it was (I don't have a Wii anymore so I didn't pay too much attention to it sorry.)
 
You East Coast CAGz are so dang lucky. Your clearance prices start long before they hit the West Coast, but we're aware of the discount & keep our eyes peeled for them. Meaning it is a very rare thing to actually be the lucky person who actually gets their hands on the very few remaining clearance games. Especially West Coasters like me who live in highly populated areas. Just about every single game sells out by the time they hit $30 or so. It is a flippin' miracle to find ANY game available for $15 or less.

All that being said I did luck into a $14.98 (or whatever ;-) Bionic Commando last week. Not a great game, but as good as it gets in price for my area.
 
Saw Fallout 3 on clearance for 29.99 at the ABQ, NM (Coors/Paseo) store, not sure its that great of a price though...

That's about the cheapest its going for right now, but with the GOTY coming out soon, it'll probably drop even lower.
 
I got Rayman Raving Rabbids :wii: for $13.98, had been $20.98 for a while, so I grabbed one since it finally dropped. They had a couple games for Wii and DS with fashion type themes.

They finally marked Up! :360: down to $27.98, still waiting for it to go lower.

Other than that, nothing at my store that is new, but the clearance games are definitely running low, so I'm hoping we get some more soon :D
 
Checked 2 Target stores and managed to get (PS3) 50 Cent: BOTS for 12.xx and (360) Wanted for 12.xx

I really wanted all of them for (360) but its ok.

I also managed to get (PS2) GHWT for my kids. No luck on any guitars though. I will check the stores again next week.
 
Was able to grab a copy of Zubo :ds: for $4.98 and a SOCOM bundle for $14.98. :D They're all up on the TL if anyone wants 'em!

Saw copies of Fire Emblem: Dragon Shadow, GTA: Chinatown Wars and Clubhouse Games being clearanced out!! Christmas does come early this year!
 
My target has been completely devoid of anything of value when they do the drops. I get the feeling there is someone on the inside there that is buying and reselling these games. I went from seeing TONS of each clearance title, to now where they sit until 50% and the instant they drop, they are gone (and I am usually there within minutes of the markdowns).
 
for anyone in central pa that's interested - the harrisburg north target (i think it's harrisburg north anyway, it's the one in colonial park) had one copy of prince of persia xbox 360 for $14.98 left. i was kinda surprised to see it since it had been clearanced out so long ago...it was on an endcap away from the clearance games (with the other cheaper games that aren't on clearance), didn't have a red tag but had the NCF on the shelf tag that was in front of it...

this was sunday afternoon around 6pm, not sure if it's still there.
 
Picked up a lone GHWT for PS3 today for $22.48 at my local Target in Jersey. If anyone is interested in tradig something worthwhile for it let me know.
 
I visited two local Target's today, Fayetteville & Fairmount, NY (Syracuse). The cheapest xbox games I could find were $19.99, and the only clearance that I saw was street fighter iv for $27.98 I think.
 
Picked up the last Bionic Commando for $14.98 at the Target in Olathe, KS. For PS3 they also had one copy of Dead Space and Resistance: Fall of Man for $7.48.

The majority of the clearance was Xbox 360. They had a lot of SF IV for $27.98 and Sonic the Hedgehog for 4.98 (I think I am right on this price, my memory sucks).

I only ask because my local Target went from having them in the Movies section, to having them in the glass cases with all their other games.

It varies between the 5 targets near me. 3 have it near the video games department, on an end-cap withing 1-3 isles of the actual video games. Another store has the clearance section in the movies/PC games which are across the isle and not next to the console games. The last store doesn't really have a single spot for clearance games. Sometimes they leave them on the shelves/in the glass case, sometimes they're all on one endcap together. There doesn't seem to be any rhyme or reason to that store.
 
It depends on the Target, mine usually have them on an endcap close to the elections section. Sometimes in case though. They will also sometimes be 3-4 rows away from electronics in their general clearance section.

Mine are in two different locations. One spot is on an end cap like three isles down from the video games (there usually isn't much there since that's the obvious spot) and the other is on an end cap by their greeting cards (the better spot of the two since its less obvious).

Yeah, that's what I initially thought too, but there's a clearance sticker on the jar. Yes, those are all clearance games.

Occasionally, very rarely I will see a game go from 75 to 87.5% off. This sometimes happens if I buy a game, hold onto it, return it much later. It almost only happens weeks or even a month after the initial drop to 75% off.

So

49.98 - 9.98 is where it will stop, then if you get lucky, after weeks, it will go to 4.99

I saw this with NHL 09 for 360....I bought at 29.98 and returned once I saw one for 14.98....then got the one I returned at a markdown of 7.48.

Once again, this is very rare. NOT NORMAL. If you like something at 50% or 75%, get it, coz you ain't gonna see it lower.

well I bought GRAW 2 for the ps3 for 14.98, next week i returned, and i scanned it to see how much it worths, it was $7.48...
and now I read in here that some one bought 50 cent and it was 4.98 or 4.99.. or some other game that was 12.48 before....
I bought 50 cent blood on the sand last week, i will go back to target again at the end of this month and see how much it worths then.
 
Stopped at 2 Targets today, hoping to find a 500GB HD for $25 but no luck.
Wound up picking up Bionic Commando, Riddick, Fiddy, and Final Fantasy Echoes of Time at the prices in OP.
The guy ringing me up seemed pissed that I got the last Riddick b/c he didn't know it dropped from marked price of $28 to $10.

Not saying its not possible to go past 75% off, just not likely for most of us...hell, 75% is practically impossible for most of us too.

I saw last copy Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six: Las Vegas (360) PH version for $5. End up picked the last copy Patapon 2 (PSP) $5 and James Bond Movie BLU Ray for $7 (Can't remembered the title).
 
You people are so lucky... I checked a couple of Targets around me and they had the games you're discussing still at the sale price of $19.99 and not on clearance (PGR4, Tomb Raider Anniversary, Orange Box, Burnout Paradise, etc.)

I took a stack to the price check scanner and all rang up at the $19.99 price. Even the only two red-stickered DS games at $13.98 (Cars and Pirates) rang up the same $13.98

I guess I'll check back once a month or so on Mondays after work to see if I've better luck snagging a deal. Thanks for the helpful info here at CAG!!!
 
Has the restock of Uncharted come into Target stores yet? I've seen a couple stores now with the $14.98 price marked on the placeholder, but no games available to purchase.
 
I thought clearance games were final sales, why is everyone talking about returning items?? If this is not the case, can I just bring the receipt back for a PM?

You definitely want to keep a close eye on your store. I was watching my store for well over a month, going several times a week (not making special visits, but to run in and get things I needed) and kept striking out. I kept reading all the deals people were getting, I getting very disappointed and strongly believing that all these great deals people were finding were one of the greatest myths of all time :lol:

During my visits I would take a couple games over to scan and also have a UPC sheet handy in case the game was locked up, prices never seemed to drop below the point I could find most games for on Amazon, so nothing that great. After a few weeks I started seeing a few new games being added, but still nothing that cheap.

I was getting to the point that looking at the clearance games at my Target was basically a waste of time and I was to the point that I didn't even want to look anymore, assuming my Target just didn't drop prices that low (all the restaurants and some of the stores in the area are much higher priced than the same places located in other areas, so I thought this was likely the case) I had started to find a couple deals when I went to Sear's, Toy's R Us and a Best Buy that was located further from the Best Buy and Target that was nearest to me, that I visited all the time.

So, finally, one night, I decided to run in to get a snack for some movies after dinner and decided to run back and check the games (this was, I believe a Saturday night, I had been there on Thursday and didn't see any new updates) I go back and all the games had been marked down to 50% off. I was completely shocked and very happy I didn't give up. I went from getting nothing from the store, to getting:

Henry Hatsworth... :ds:
m + m's Adventure :wii:
The Conduit :wii:
Tak Guardian of Gross :wii:
Spectrobes :ds:
Sonic Unleashed :ps3:
Mystery P.I :ds:
A golf and frisbee game :ds:

My Sims Kingdom :wii:
Rayman Raving Rabbids :wii:

within a few weeks of each other. So, my store went from having no games with decent prices, to me almost getting a game every time I go to Target.

The plus side of all this was that because they normally didn't have that good of prices, when they marked everything to 50% off, the stuff stuck around for a while. By the time Monday came around, everything was gone. Now, when they did the drop to 70% or more the games were basically gone immediately. So, just keep an eye on your store, it may not be as good as what others are getting right now, but hopefully in a few weeks things will turn around for you.

Final note, if you are able to, you may not want to limit yourself to just going on Monday's. My store seems to be very random when it comes to dropping prices, but I think they did the first major one on a Friday and the other one I'm not really sure when they did it. Monday and Friday tend to be the most popular days, so you may want to try and visit more often if you can (it seems when I miss a few days is when they like to mark new things down, so I miss them, which is what happened with the 70% off)

Now if I would just get some decent 360 deals :D

Technically they are supposed to restock the item after you return it, I guess a lot of people are finding easy going or incompetent employees that allow a return/rebuy right there...

Extremely YMMV on that I suppose...
 
Clearance items are not final. You still have 90 days to return them. I've done it numerous times, I'd pick up a game that's at a good price just in case a friend wants it. If not, no big..I'll just return it

Nope I check every time I go on every store around my area and nothing. I'm on top of that becaseu I really...... really......... want Uncharted for that price. :whistle2:D
 
Visited three Targets in my area (Hampton Roads, VA) today.

Target on Military Highway in Norfolk has four copies of Street Fighter IV :360: for $19.99, that is the lowest I've seen it so far. The other locations (Virginia Beach, Chesapeake) still had it at $27.xx.

I'm still looking for Bionic Commando for PS3 to no avail :(.

Didn't appear to be any good temporary price drops for Blurays this week, but the guys were still out marking stuff down when I was there.

List price on GRAW2 is $29.99, so $14.98 is 50% off, and $7.48 is 75% off. That's within the normal price drop percentages.

As for the others . . . do you really believe everything you read on the internet? Not saying it can't happen (again, as has been said before, individual Targets can do their own thing -- it's unusual, but not impossible), but it's pretty unlikely. Hell, it's pretty unlikely that 50 Cent was even there long enough to drop that far.

Now if it was a game that started out at $20 to begin with, then it's entirely possible (again, $4.98 is 75% off of $20). So, for example, Patapon 2 (list $19.99) did drop to that in a lot of places.

Just because some titles reach a certain price doesn't mean that you can assume that all titles will reach that price. It all depends upon what the original price was.

You can try going back at the end of the month if you want, but keep in mind that since stores do their drops individually, most stores stop doing drops on titles as soon as they no longer have any in stock. So the best you'll likely do is whatever the last price was when they sold out of the game.
