This thread is for clearance-- not for sale items. Price reductions for clearance seem to happen on Monday, although not every Monday, but could also occur any day of the week depending on your store's price change team. Price adjustments on clearance are typically not allowed, but some have succeeded or have been able to do as return and rebuy.

Target often donates its older clearance titles to Goodwill stores, so keep that in mind when you're trying to find items. BigDirty: "Further reduction is possible when a game's price ends with 8 cents. However, when it ends in 4 cents it will NOT drop anymore. If it ends in 9 cents, it's just on sale or on a non-clearance reduction." Also, note that, typically, games will drop three times-- from 30%, 50%, then to the final drop of 75% off of the original price. Some people, however, have seen further drops up to 85%.

When games are marked down, the price change team typically find the game and scan it with their PDA/LRT to intiate the price change. However, in the case that they cannot find the game, they will either choose to not drop the price further or process the price change anyway, figuring that the game is somewhere in the store.

When posting deals, please include game, system, price, city and state. For example:
Debbie Does Skywalker, Xbox 360, $4.98
Mesa, AZ Power Road at Superstition Springs

Also, a great help when you're posting deals you've found is to check this post and see if your item's DPCI number is already listed. DPCI stands for Department, Class, Item-- it's Target's version of a SKU. These are a nine digit number that can always be found on your receipt and also on the red clearance tags on the item itself. DPCI numbers are handy to have when you want to check the item's price-- just go over to your scanner and punch in the numbers, if your scanners have keypads. Also, you can give these numbers to team members so they can check the availability of the item easily with their PDA scanners. Please post any DPCI numbers that are not already in the OP-- thanks!

Here is a fairly easy way to check your local Target's pricing-- often price tags will not be correct. Thanks to BigDirty for this:
1) Go to Half.com or a similar site. Search for the game to locate its UPC code number. It's in the gray box underneath the box art graphic.
2) Go to UPC Data ,Milk.com , or UPC Database and enter the code so you can print out the UPC. Go to Target and use the price scanners to scan your printouts.

Thanks to Mephitical for this tool for locating clearance titles, which is located here. Go to Amazon or Target to find the item's ASIN. When you find it, replace "B000O3IS48" in the URL with your item's ASIN. This will take you to a page asking you for your zip code. Type in your zip code and click enter-- this will display a list of local stores and whether or not they have your item in stock. YMMV on it working properly.

The lowest known price will be posted. The item could be higher or lower at your store. Numbers in yellow are DPCI numbers, which can be used to check the prices of items on newer scanners.

This is YMMV but I couldnt find another game I wanted at $9.99 so I thought Id try to test my luck , Picked up The Bigs 2 360 $9.xx and picked up Geometry Wars RE for Xbox Live $4.99 . Scanned both with coupon , came up One Item Missing , guy at the register calls his manager over and the manger goes they are both 360 games so he told the cashier to overide it and BLAMMO ! Walked out with a copy of the Bigs 2 and Geo Wars for a lil over $5.xx . These Coupons are Awesome

Interesting. I was wondering whether or not the same thing would happen with the Fallout 3 add-on packs that are on clearance. Anyone had success using the coupon on those?

Yesterday I picked up:

Love CAG!
[207-22-0349] Wolverine (360) + GH: Metallica for ~$21 with coupon
and
Boom Blox (wii) + Virtua Tennis 2009 (wii) for ~$8 with coupon.

Promptly traded the boom blox with a my copy of uncharted to gamestop and preordered Assassins Creed 2 (xbox) with that promo. When I found that my valkyria chronicles didn't apply to the the promo anymore, I ran back to target to get the boom blox i had seen earlier. VT ended up being free. What the hell am I gonna do with it, though? Guess it has to trade for something.

Finally found Red Faction for $20, then paired it with Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs for $13 to use the $10 coupon. Has anyone played Cloudy and is it worth $10?

There is a link on the original post to a coupon page and there should be a place in the store that has the coupon book. Mine had it at the end of toy aisle.

I actually played it. It's pretty faithful to the movie and I enjoyed it.

Obviously a kid's game but I got my $10 worth of entertainment.

Ipicked it up for the same price, well -$5. The achievements are really, REALLY easy. Its kinda fun though.Like the post above said, its very much a kids game. I turned around and sold it on ebay for $18 after I was done with it.

On a somewhat different tangent, I just started playing the Bionic Commando I got a couple months ago at Target and I'm having a BLAST. Definitely worth the $15 I paid for it. If any of you still see this game laying around at your Target, I highly suggest picking it up.

Yes, it varies by store. Look for games with red stickers on them; this is the tell-tale sign that a game has hit clerance at your store. Not all stores have the same clearance games, and not all clearance games ring up the same price drops universally. Hope this helps and good luck in your search!

I saw 35+ Rock Band 2's at one of my local Targets, was only at ($24.98?) 50% off though...

I wonder if this will be widely seen at MORE than 75% off like we (I) saw with Guitar Hero 3.
It kind of seems like it though since I see sooooo many copies at multiple Targets (35+ was the most I have seen at one Target)

Good for you... but 75% off is awesome... could be $12.48... check out every Monday.... if you are lucky, after 3 weeks or a month, it would probably go down until 85% off... like $6.24....

I don't think people would let them go (we're in holidays).... but try it!!!.. good luck...

Almost 0% chance at it dropping below 75% off;

1. Coupon is out.

2. Black Friday / Soccer Mom shopping season is coming.

3. GH 3 got so low partly because there was a new GH game out by then.

oh you don't even know the half of it! I did the same thing for NSMB w/ Bigs 2 and Skate 2. Then last night did the flip 3x at 3 different GameStops for L4D2 for me and my 2 friends. Nothing is better than a day one release for $30 total.

I don't look at it as hoarding since technically my buddies paid for their copies of the Target games, I was simply the carrier. I think most are gone now however
